    Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg.

      The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look. My wife and I are retiring this year with over $7,000,000 in tax deferred investments. up until 3 years ago we were 100% in the S&P. During bear markets we had a perfect plan. We got an investment manager in our corner and didn’t look at our portfolio for nearly a year.

And i also love Pastor John Piper's message about abundance, you are prosperous so that you will have enough and the rest of what you have, use to help others. please continue making videos like this that will inspire christians like me to grow more in my relationship with God and read more The Bible and devour it, meditate on it day and night. The basic idea of investing in stocks is this: To participate in and benefit from the growth and earnings of a particular company, through purchasing shares of ownership. When someone has extra money and they want to look for legal ways to make that money grow, that is considered investing. The stock market gives individuals the unique opportunity to profit off of the growth and ingenuity of some of the world’s largest companies.

    As a Catholic, I’m not sure what I’m doing is right. I make around a 10% gain on my controlled limited portfolio (meaning I keep my portfolio at a certain amount and all my gains head straight into my savings). And I don’t necessarily think I’m stealing but I’m taking money away from a stock that people put their money in. Yes this means I trade, I don’t invest. I question if selling more than buying stocks is wrong. Of course I know it’s greed if I use the money for many forms of pride, or materialistic things. I can’t see that being my outcome but I see myself just being more powerful (in a sense). Car problems wont crash my bank accounts. Debt won’t be on my plate. My charities will be even greater. Any thoughts?

    I respectfully disagree.
    Owning stocks and receiving dividends from stocks quite literally means you're taking the fruits of the labor of the hardworking laborers at the company.
    Dividends come from company profits. The workers of these companies are usually not consulted on whether they would like the fruits of their hard-earned work (i.e. the profits) to go to strangers who have not lifted a finger to help in perpetuity. Much less do the workers consent to shareholders having control of the company, including whether the workers should get fired for the shareholders' benefits. Stock owners quite literally leech off the hard work of others when they receive dividends. And typically, shareholders' interests are in direct opposition to the workers' interests. More money going to the shareholders in dividends necessarily means that the workers receive less pay for their work. The money that goes to the shareholders' pockets could go to compensate the workers for their hard work.
    Also, buying and trading stocks are not investments in the company itself (unless you bought an IPO). When you buy and sell stocks, that money simply gets passed around between the stock owners. The company doesn't see a dime of the stocks that are traded in the market (unless they do stock buybacks or release new stocks). So, essentially, you're not supporting or "investing" in the company.
    When you buy a stock, you're only investing in yourself.
    If you believe in, and want to support, an organization and its mission, you can give the money directly to the organization or give them a loan. Otherwise, your commitment to the organization's cause is merely contingent upon your own personal gain.

    What if in order for your investments to succeed others must fail? examples myspace to FB, cable to streaming services, or any company whose success will be dependent on the culture adopting new technologies that replace older ones. If you define gambling by wanting others to fail. Then it seems there will be cases where your ROI will only come by other businesses failing whether it be directly or indirectly caused.

    Also, in gambling the odds will always be stacked against you in one way or another, and the purpose is to build up a rush of adrenaline and excitement before the big win or loss.
    With the stock market, part of it is luck, but if you know what you’re doing and how to read patterns and the potential of companies, then the odds can actually be in your favour or it doing well. Especially when you do long-term investing.
    And of course, the most important thing about any wealth you have is that you have more responsibility with it and you have more opportunities to give and do something with your wealth. If God gives you wealth, then use it for what you need and then use what is extra to give to those that have a true need for it.

      It's a very good thing, but still requires wisdom and of course practical application and knowledge. By doing this, especially at a time like right now, we are actually helping people in some very good industries stay employed. We are supporting their companies who have been there for us for years and supporting their livelihood.
      Crypto currency however, is not helping any of these working folks. I feel like that one is a Ponzi scheme and people are wise to stay away from it. It has no intrinsic value, it's all digital and it produces nothing. Worse yet, it enables corruption and criminal behavior. I won't be supporting it.

      China M Hi. I am not a certified financial advice but can tell you what I observed and did personally. First and foremost, the BEST investment you ever made was giving your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior as a young person. Personally, I avoid all forms of debt. The Bible says the debtor is slave to the master. Jesus points out that debt is evil. Unfortunately we live in a fallen and fractured world run by the evil one. Satan uses greed and envy to drive people to want and desire more money and material goods with his Luciferian agenda. As such, most businesses and corporations are cutthroat entities putting money over people. Currently, I am researching
      how to invest as a Christian thoroughly before I do anything. I am putting my faith in Jesus Christ that he will guide me in the right direction regarding money. God bless you and best wishes.

    while I agree with the video nonetheless, I think that a point might be missed here - with the Crypto, NFT race many people have gone into these kind of affairs (stock including) with the desire and illusion that they might become rich overnight. Now investing in these kind of means is not sinful in itself (not many things are) but it highly depends on the relationship you develop over time with these finance tools. Because culture via social media, news outlets, report often on people whom have gotten rich fast, other people follow with the same desire so that they might become rich over night. Now that in itself is sinful and condemned by the Scripture, the desire for wealth in itself, especially when it's driven by greed. Now we all want better for us, for our families, but becoming wealthier should never in itself become what drives us. If this is the way you are investing in stocks/crypto/nfts , and you are obsessed, checking your portfolio 10 times a day, that is definitely what I would not call a healthy 'relationship' and this kind of thing is most likely not for you. If you are a responsible person, that invests wisely, and is not driven by money nor you are obsessed with profit, then most likely you are doing well. Do not search for money, do not become obsessed by it, it will steal your soul and in most cases you will not get wealthy. It is God that blesses and makes one wealthy. Be faithful, seek God, work hard, love your family, and God might bless you. All the best.

    I have a question related to this topic - I am interested in forex trade (foreign currencies). Many people say that it is gambling, but people who do trade there say that it is not. And it is true in my opinion - you do research the history, you do watch the news and you really try to "predict" the trend just as you do it in the stock market. But it is different that you do not invest in any company but you buy some amount of money and then you sell it or you sell and then buy. The system is similar to stock market system. I am at university and I am thinking of a way to get some money - I am studying math and economics so I'd like to do something related to my studies. But I definitely want to do something which is right in God's eyes. Thank you.

      I don't believe so. I think playing a sport can be a healthy way to boost confidence. It can teach us about goal setting, seeing good results with hard work, teamwork, as well as helping us to learn that we can fail, and yet get back up and try harder. It shows us that we will not always win at everything and that's how life is. So we can put things in perspective. It is also a good release for a competitive spirit. Many if not all of us are given a competitive spirit at some level and I think sports are/can be a healthy way to channel that. Now it's when people have a "win at all/any cost" that I think is unhealthy and can get us in trouble because that attitude can also overflow into our lives. These are just a few thoughts. investing in companies is a form of gambling. it is not necessarily a win-win. You are gambling everyday. When you drive vs. taking public transportation, when you eat steak vs. fish etc. Professional money managers are in a competition to see who seek out the best returns. Gambling is just high risk. Is investing in penny stocks immoral? What about mid cap stocks? Or junk bonds? Are high risk equity investments "gambling"? When does investing in a stock not becoming gambling? Even holding your money in cash is gambling. You are gambling on the value of the US dollar vs. all other currencies. Precious metals are historically safe but also subject to the fluctuations of interest rates and the M2 money supply.
    I'm not saying that gambling is good, or that people can't ruin their lives over it, but I don't see how you can just draw a line in the sand and say these actions with your capital are moral while these actions aren't.

    • @gladiatoranc
      @gladiatoranc 4 года назад

      Well said! A little knowledge behind the financial markets is enough to understand that the whole financial system is built on sand. Anyone who agree with this is either ignorant or deceitful. Money is created by debt through bank loans, investments are handled by companies who do not fear God and do not have not the same moral standards while maintaining a high level of secrecy, and like you said, the competition of the USD against other currency creates a market highly volatile. Also a quick look at history is enough to show that wealth is constantly moving from one set of hands to another. No country and economic structures, no matter how well established has stood the test of time, eventually they all come crashing down.

      A situation being a "win-win" doesn't just mean only good outcomes are possible. Here, it means that both parties benefit from a given course of action. With investing, both the investor and the investee gain something. The investee gets capital to do their planned work and the investor is rewarded for assuming risk if the plans fall through. None of that means that investing is a sure thing. But the reality is that you assume risk all the time by driving or even based on what city you live in.
      Air pollution varies from city to city. Do you gamble by living where air quality is lower, knowing you're at a higher risk for cancers? Do you gamble based on where you live, knowing some areas are more prone to floods, fires, etc.? Every day we assume risk.

    Why is gambling not a risk because the winner wants to win alone but the stock market is a risk because the investors don't wish that they alone gets dividends? Why ain't both of them two different forms of risks with different dynamics at play for each? What do the dictionaries say? Do the dictionaries agree with the speakers definitions of 'risk' and 'gambling'?
    What about when I spend money at a business that is having a promotion and I have to put my receipt (or whatever else) in a box or whatever else to win a prize through the business having a raffle of some sort? Is that gambling? Why? And is it right or wrong?

    • @The4Tifier
      @The4Tifier 5 лет назад

      Gregory S. Gill Wrong on all accounts.
      In gambling, the odds are always stacked against you, you have to risk quite a bit of money every time, the rewards or punishments are instant, and it’s done mostly for the sake of the thrill.
      In investing, if you know how the stock market works, the types of investing, have the wisdom to choose companies to invest in wisely, and are not willing to approach everything as a gamble where you bet more than what you are willing to loose, then it’s nothing like a gamble at all.
      As for companies that ask you to hand in your receipt to win a prize, there should be no risk on your part for taking part in it. There’s no money to be paid up front, and it’s all for free. There’s no hoping that through you betting a lot of money that you’ll win big.
      The ultimate conclusion to come to is this; if something to you is a sin, even if the Bible says in general that is okay, then it is still sin since you would be doing that act in the mindset of rebelling against God.

But if you would consider usury a sin, as it is for Ultra Orthodox Jews to loan at interest to other Jews, then your investing in the financial markets should be limited to companies that gain most of their profits off of providing a good or service other than credit.

    Stock trading, whether it be long-term or day trading, is a business. Business comes with risk, and you need to be educated in your business field to be successful. Gambling also has risk, but you don’t have the control that you do with a business. Even if you’re counting cards playing blackjack, you’re always playing under something you really have no control over. Professional day traders don’t just throw their money in and hope, they come in with a plan, and if done correctly, will benefit you more times than not. You may lose money, but having a good stop loss set up is all part of the plan. Learn from your mistakes, improve your skills. God wants his greatest creation to improve their skills, progress as a species. He wants us to be successful.

      Every company, organization, entity and human being will always have conflicting views with you. Life is not always black and white, there's a lot of gray in between. In other words, I wouldn't think about investing with that kind of thinking because if you dig deep enough there will always be something wrong with the company you invest with. For example, I invest in companies such as Tesla and Waste Management because I love their dedication to make the environment more sustainable, and as Christians we need to care for God's creation (our planet). Do these companies have some values or issues that I may not agree with? Of course! But I would rather invest in these companies than invest in oil and manufacturing companies because of the environmental impacts they have on our planet. I would really evaluate your thinking strategy, otherwise, you won't be able to find many companies to invest in. Remember, you're investing in the COMPANY, not their POINT OF VIEW.

      That’s a really good question! One could say yes and another say no. What does your conscience tell you? If your conscience tells you it’s wrong, perhaps it would be better to invest in something you feel better about.

    He says “That’s not gambling, that’s risk” so naturally I look up the definition of gambling and here it is:
    1: “play games of chance for money; bet”
    2: “take RISKY action in the hope of a desired result.”
    If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it’s a duck.

      Gambling involves risk. A risk that is unethical . It bets on others to lose and fail. So that , one can earn much from other loses.
      Investment in stock involves a risk. But that risk is ethical. It doesn't bet on others to lose. It bets on the farewell of everyone involves in it.

    There appears to be no NT passage that supports savings or investing for one's long term or retirement needs against the passages that call for contentment and give up of possessions.
    Mat 6:19 - Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth
    Heb 13:5 - be content with such things as you have
    Phil 4:11-13 - have learned to be content
    1 Tim 6:8-12 - But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
    Mat 19:21-26 - If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor
    Luk 12:33 - Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out-a treasure in heaven that never decreases, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

    Is investing into DOGE coin a sin?

    • @WassupBruddah
      @WassupBruddah 3 года назад

      Yes. It's speculative investment akin to gambling. It is designed to make people lose money so that big players can have a better return. I have invested in the market and while you can make profit it is usually for people seeking to make a quick buck for themselves rather than thinking about the instruments they invest in. I found myself looking like a slave, checking charts, following trends and investing more money. But I am struggling psychologically with my decision. I would advise you to avoid the market and focus on ftse, nyse. Cryptocurrencies are not for Christians. I learnt my lesson

    • @WassupBruddah
      @WassupBruddah 3 года назад

      Absolutely. I feel we are on the same page here. Deep inside we both know that it's pointless and accumulation of wealth breeds greed and corrupts the heart but temptations are sometimes irresistible especially if we seek wealth. It can blind our hearts. Problem with cryptocurrencies is that once you invest a lot of money it is so difficult to let it go :( Any advice brother?

    • @WassupBruddah

      Exactly my experience too. I had this image of living mortgage free and retiring early. I didn't lose that much but I missed out on huge returns for getting out too early. The volatility scared me too much. I never trade. Trading is haram. I only invest but I was too greedy and invested too much money ( also haram ). More than I can lose. Know that even with our losses our experiences made us who we are and made us rethink what really matters in life. Because of my difficult time I started to seek God and appreciate small things in life. Where If I was now filthy rich I would most likely turn away from God and live very materialistic life. I am thankful for God showing me this but sometimes it hurts. I only invest in Crypto very long term now but with much smaller sum of money. Even when I am making small profit now I don't feel as satisfied as I was before investing. It just showed me that money never made me happy in the first place but your relationship with God, People and yourself. stay blessed and you have a very wise mum! I don't recommend investing in cryptocurrencies to any of my friends. It is a trap for beginners and can easily turn it into addiction and lost friendships. Family, Friends are way much more important than any money

Has anyone ever seen a cartoon about signing your soul to the devil? Paul says to work with your hands, not take out loans, and build portfolio's. "LOVE NOT THE WORLD". Anyway.
