- How accessible was the Paralympics 2024 for me as a wheelchair user and what was it like to be in Paris as a wheelchair user experiencing the culture and going to the Paralympics. Paris 2024 was such a success and I loved seeing Disabled people doing sport in such an amazing way and it was SO much fun to be in Paris experiencing it. What did you love about the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics?

Sadly I've heard several comments and reports about access not being great at the paralympics. It's just ridiculous.
Yeppp. It's the literal paralypics??? It should be the most accessible event in existence???
If you want to travel at another time be careful: they repaired the lifts for the games but most of the time they are left broken for a really long time... especially in the transports.
Indeed. I noticed a lot of small changes to the years before. For example in the station they moved the info point for accessibility and made it accessible (sounds stupid, but it wasn’t before). And indeed the lifts and moving stairs were all working. Also the tiles for the blind people were repaired and all okay. So they really tried to
@@Eet0saurus the ramp at the station stade de france on the b line is now locked away...
@@aidenix6721wtf that’s offencif. Why not keep it accessible😖
thats so sad. I expected those things to stay for at least a few days or weeks after the paralympics. So sad that they still don’t get it :(
Thank you for wearing a mask at the paralympics! masking during interviews would further normalize keeping each other safe :-)
Unfortunately masks can be an inaccessibility for those who need to lip read which was the case here 😊
I think the coverage was fairly decent this year thanks to the C4 RUclips streams. It's the first year where you could spend the day watching whichever sport(s) you wanted, with virtually no ads.
I also feel like Channel 4 tried to kind of reverse the 'Super Humans' trope they helped create (at least from what I saw on The Last Leg), focusing more on the fact that we're watching athletes at work. Great interview question btw - it's good to be reminded that while not Super Human, these people are athletes who have worked very hard to reach the top of their sports, i.e. hopefully (especially nondisabled) people don't come away thinking "I could easily do that."
Great video Eliza ❤
I think the main problem with the athletics stadium is that it wasn’t purpose-built for these Olympic and Paralymic games - unlike other venues for the 2024 games. They just used the huge stadium that has already been there
Did boccia during sports day at secondary school, it was really fun! Glad to see it during the Paralympics
Hello Eliza, how are you? I love Paris, France 🇫🇷 & hope you had fun! ❤
