The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is a badass SUV, definitely by far the best SUV from an American company. (The Trackhawk is cooler, but its the same family). Launch control, AWD, NA Hemi V8, looks mean, has a nice interior, what more can you ask for?

I have a 2017 srt. This guy isn't kidding. It's an awesome all-purpose vehicle.
How is the Gas Mileage? When cruising, Does it have the Cylinder Delete?

Why is this always a 1st question: what's the gas mileage. U dont get it for that u get it to go balls fast n b a favorite customer to the gas stations! Lol
La Porta D find me a suv for 65,000$ that is faster and more luxury.
The thing I liked about my JGC was it was a decent sized vehicle without being TOO big. Big enough for 5 comfortably, with room in the back to spare, but not unwieldy.

I just picked up a '21 JGC SRT last month with low mileage. It's a beast, for sure! I have had a perma-grin on my face since the test drive. I rarely see any of these where I live, but when I do, me and the other driver give 'the nod'. Aggressive-looking, stylish, fast, formidable, and a great daily driver! I'm looking to keep this beauty for many years and hope it treats me well. Great video review. Just subscribed to your channel, too 👍

Nice to see a quick review of the 2018. Only a few minor changes from 2017 like the updated UConnect system but it’s nice to see a current model year one. Info on the 2019’s should emerge this month, last year for the WK2.

I drive an 07RS4 and my wife drives a 16 grand Cherokee SRT and she loves it. ...and wont let me drive it. Very underrated.

the correct x5 to compare this to is not the X5M, but the 50i. power and price are just about the same. However the Jeep will wipe the floor with the X5 50i in handling. The Trackhawk is the one that should be directly compared to the X5M.

One of the best looking suv’s out there.
This is hands down the best SUV I’ve driven at this price range and I’ve had a number of sports cars and SUV ...this one made me smile every day and took everything I could throw at it with no stress. IT capabilities not the best but that’s not what you are paying for. Sold it for a Ford Explorer sport and now have massive regrets. Be aware that the SRT has massive maintenance and fuel bills but I haven’t driven many better than it, except for the Porsche Cayenne GTS when it was a v8 and that’s an extra 40k
Maintenance as in the brakes?
hamronD73, yes brakes, and tires.
@@angelav2906 I agree. I have found that using the transmission to downshift as much as possible really extends the life of the brakes. I'm at 30,000 miles on my first set.
hamronD73, I nursed my brakes and used the down shifter a lot , but still the fronts needed done at 20000 km which I thought was too soon. Lot of weight in the front so maybe that’s why....

Srt gc atleast has “srt” in the steering wheel, idk why the trackhawk says “jeep”, dummest shit ever. I have a 15 srt Jeep, intake, exhaust, headers, throttle body, tune, I’ve done 0-60 3.9, avg 4.1, quarter mile 12.5 @ 118
Great review, I have a15 SRT and really enjoy it minus the common FCA quality issues (carbon fiber trim peels, wheel delaminates and front Brembo rotor paint fade) but it is a blast as a daily family hauler. That said, I’m probably opting up to to a used BMW X5M on the next go round..
Did you have water pump issues?
Avoid a used BMW Lewis, especially an x5m.. trust me.
That was resolved all in 2016 or 2017. The brembo paint was painted by brembo
I want to get one of these in 2 years time if whole world will be exist yet the way we all remember.

You should test out the trackhawk.. its the fastest SUV to date CRAZY! Would love to see it! Its around the 100k mark. Faster than any porche's bmw's or range rovers.

Great review Eddie. This SRT is the best performance SUV by value. As fast as all the top German SUVs in everyday driving and while it may not be up there in terms of interior quality, those SUVs cost about $50k more similarly equipped.

I am due for my current lease for company car. Studied and narrowed down to 3. Ghibli SQ4, Tahoe RST or Grand Cherokee SRT. I do not need a Trackhawk as I have 2 track cars already. I am looking for something reliable, fast and fun to drive.. This is perfect... I need to go and test drive one... great video... I am drooling...

Sound is the same. No gimmicks in the exhaust system.
I believe it’s like a throttle mapping, sports mode sounds different at idle compare to auto, for sure.
God I’d love to put the engine from one of these in my 2016 Cherokee 😂
For the price you'd pay to do that you might as well sell your 16 Cherokee and nab one of these.

The reason the Grand Cherokee feels like a fine German auto is because it basically is. It shares the chassis with the Mercedes ML. And it shows! Look at the entire rest of the Jeep line up and you'll see why we owners are SO glad the GC still has that Benz DNA.

Go look for yourself. Take a 2015 JGC and compare it to the same year Benz GL. So many parts bin parts are identical. Outside mirrors, the ENTIRE dash. Spare tire storage. Bumpers. The tristar on the hood hypnotizes people. But it’s true.

I dig these a lot and was considering buying one, but would say the reliability is a real issue with any Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler vehicle. JGCs rate well below average in Consumer Reports' reliability ratings and it's well known that's true to life.
Zuke Dude ,please don't listen to consumer reports . The Facts are if jeeps are soooo bad they wouldn't have the sales they have , I've owned 6 Grand Cherokees will be ordering 2019 SRT this fall .
Zuke one more thing they just won a brand loyalty award and a cult status award based on ownership !! Talk to owners throw consumer reports away !
Zuke, I still drive a 08 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi which I have owned for 10 years with 378,000 miles and still runs great. Just the regular maintenance no major issues.

please can you enlighten me on the confusion i am having? are you saying that srt is another trim of grand cherokee or its at the peak of every trim because i have heard a review which talked of srt for trailhawk too. secondly, you did mention 'grand cherokee srt', no latitude, overland, etc. thirdly is, is there less version of trackhaw or it is just one trim? fourthly is do al trim come with 4*4? thanks
SRT is it's own trim and is not added to, or part of any other trims. There is no such thing as an SRT Trailhawk...Perhaps that reviewer meant to say SRT Trackhawk, which is an SRT with the Hellcat 707hp motor.

Yeah. I’m exactly 6’4”. Front seats have plenty of room. Could be 6’8” and have room. Back seats don’t have as much as front tho.
I'm 6'4 and the front seats are roomy. However, a shorter person may have to sit behind you. I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited.

I bet it cant go off-road. Jeeps these days are like not even jeeps a jeep should be able to go anywhere like the trailcat and wrangler/rubicon for example, and the fact that there is carbon fiber in a jeep amazes me in a bad way.

It's a better deal than the Trackhawk. Pick up a used SRT and put twin turbos on it and blow a Trackhawk away. Still $30,000 in the bank. Plus insurance is cheaper. 420 to 475 hp base ( depending on year) compared to 707 hp. Insurance companies won't won't know that you upgraded!

@@TheDHM3007 Well I hope that you find what you're looking for. Honestly I would get the 6.1 srt8. It accepts boost so much better. If you're looking for reliability then 6.1. If you want max hp, then go with the 6.4. Has more base hp. But not as reliable. Variable timing makes the 6.4 less reliable

regular SRT looks better than the trackhawk. Jeep did terrible on the exterior of the trackhawk thats why its not selling well. its missing the hellcat hood with that silly trailhawk looking badge and doesn't look as mean as the regular SRT and doesn't have the SRT badge.

Trackhawk looks identical to srt, but for quad pipes, yellow calipers, and badging. Definitely not worse, just not better.

I have a 2018 SRT and it's freaking AWESOME! You will spend lots of money on gas but if your worried about that then don't buy 1. It handles way different than the limited, and overland.. I've had both prior to purchasing my SRT..

That does nothing but put the shifter into manual mode. The drive modes are on the dial behind the shifter.

Haha I own a 2014. Depends on your definition of reliability. It won't leave you stranded somewhere, but certain things are just stupid and shouldn't happen. Carbon fiber trim, lifters, peeling rims/brake calipers. The biggest issue I see is the lifters, but besides those it's mainly cosmetic issues.
I wish it had the same exhaust and engine as the trackhawk
