BETTER DARK SOULS 2 GRASS HERE I COME
If only it could help the game in other ways.
Artham Games If you mean graphics then get GeDoSaTo. It does that upscaling then downscaling thing as well. So no need to get the GTX 980 just for that.
It helps with a lot of other effects. Just google it.
Artham Games It can't make you good at the game bro.
u srsly gettin this :D
Traveling Donkey Show I've beaten the game several times with less than 3 deaths, bro. I also win the vast majority of duels without using any of the numerous "cheap" items/abilities. I don't need your approval to know that there are some issues with the game.
I miss this linus and the kitchen
they still do a kitchen.. just not at his house anymore
When the 3090 releases:
RUclips: Nice, lets show him stuff from 6 years before
Edit: 2 years later and 4090 is out as well
funny to see how linus video went up in quality just like nvidia card.
@@mikaelangelo6940 yea he got a beard now, and we got 8k gaming that was not even a though back then
@@ItIsNotKeshav 4k was barely a thing back then... Geez I feel old.
Worst part is I just wanna get a good PC for 1080p AAA gaming, I have a Acer nitro 5 laptop with a i5 8300h (4 cores, 8 threads 2.2ghz?) and a gtx 1050 4gb with 8gb ram. This PC sucks ass I can barely even play rise of the tomb raider I doubt I can play Shadow of the tomb raider, I want something that is powerful but good value so im waiting to see if amd releases a RX 6500/6500 XT for like 220$-250$ canadian that performs like a rx 5700ish.
Stfu let me love my just builded pc with 980
True haha gaming has changed so much and funny how we are playing this 03:30 game Grid on phones. Lmao
I give the GTX 980 a 4 star rating.
The GTX 970, i give it a 3.5 Star rating.
rofl
yet amd's highest end offering ONLY has 4GB, try a high end nvidia card, 12gb
Nigga I use a GTX 980 but use amd 480rx 8 GBS for etherum mining
Whilst console players fight and argue over 1080p we have this!
oh god... A hipster
mayez islam Oh god a muslim!
Wow bit to far..
mayez islam Go fight a Jihad or something
WayT101 There are definitely Muslims in your country :). Are you gonna kick them out? You do realize you are branding 1.3 billion people on that stereotype. People like you are the reasons Muslims hate the west dude.
Btw, your insult makes no sense. Cause most Muslims want that stuff out of their countries too. So :)
Back then they were in a family house but they seemed more professional.
+Felix Mustermann I agree, I prefer not having a green screen :(

@@someboringperson9359 2022 boi and the 40xx is coming out
It's 2023 now and I remember watching either this video or the 780Ti review when it first came out, I was in Year 7(?) and I was off school at the time because I was either ill, refused to go in or something else and me and my dad watched it together in my bedroom on my HP Pavillion 500-141ea Desktop PC with AMD Dual-Graphics! Also I am still using my good old GeForce 7800 GT from when I was a kid in my Windows XP Machine, my GTX 950 in my old gaming machine from 2013, my old laptop has a GTX 1050m (IdeaPad 330-15ICH 81FK00BAUK) my main Laptop (ThinkPad X1E2) has a GTX 1650 Max-Q, and my Main Gaming machine has an RTX 3060, but I am really thinking about ditching Team Green and switching to RED TEAM for better Linux support, specifically Wayland on Nvidia is terrible... Right now I use Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 21H2 (2021) after upgrading (clean install) from 1809 (2019) which I used since early 2019. Currently the time is 2022-02-15_0219-GMT in the morning... Someone ping/remind me of this comment in 5 years from now please! :) lol
Ah, the days when i drooled for this thing
So glad I waited. I was literally about to press the "confirm" for my order on a 780. Instead I'll be blazing with a 980 in my tower! Great review :)
why would you almost order this close to the release date? You knew it was coming soon, if it was jan of this year, i woulda hit the 780 order but, there were enough leaks that you could tell.
the 980 will be just about 20 bucks more too, and a lot faster! :D I am doing the same thing as you!
I have a 780 Ti and honestly it is not enough of an incentive to get one. I will wait for the unavoidable 980 Ti.
BadAssBlackOverlord They might not make it, you never know it could go either way though. It will most likely happen.
BadAssBlackOverlord yea im in the same boat, its great though for others that they can get 780 ti performance for less. Win and Win
The 980 doesn't even justify it's name, looking like it's two generations ahead of the 700 series yet both the series flagship cards perform the same! Are you kidding? Neither cards will get my money. The GTX 780 ti and 980 are neck and neck, and I expected it to perform a bit better. 4K is still way to difficult for a single graphics card to handle, maxing out your game settings with 4k will leave you @ under 40 fps. I am looking forward to a possible 980 ti, or an early 2015 release of their next 14 nm process. Although, I do realize the features the 980 brings, but is it really THAT compelling? In my opinion, not at all. Unless you have a 500 series card, don't even bother.
I really hope AMD brings up some rough competition with their R9, "300" series.. I've been rocking an Nvidia card for 2 years now, but I'm not biased. If AMD can really bring some performance to the table, I would switch in a heart beat. But they can't manage that so far. Because of this, AMD only owns 30% of the GPU market share. If they can win me over with TRUE next generation performance, chances are they're gonna grow that market share. If it does win me over though, I'll really miss CUDA.
I almost think Nvidia should have just waited for the 14 nm process, because it is not worth upgrading in the least bit. All you get is slightly better power consumption and more features that chances are, not many gamers will truly care about. Performance gain is about 5 or 6 percent from the 700 series when you consider the recent price drops.
Ya I agree, I have 2 680's and the power is more than enough for me. I thought this card would have atleast been 30%+ better than the 780. Until NV releases a single card that can beat my 680's, I'm sticking with them.
It's not two generations ahead, NVIDIA skipped the 800 series for parity with the mobile series.
The Minecraft Sauce
well amd's r9 295x2 beats the titan z easily for about half the price if you want to go get it :)
(MFAA) Mother Fucking Anti-Aliasing. Haven't laughed harder
+Cody Windsor Took me a while to guess it, Though i thought it was Fucker, not Fucking.
who else came here after seeing the new GTX 1080!!!! :D
Tanzu15 why not waiting for 1080 TI ??
+Dhruv Collins for the extra frames? I guess!! if it was me, and I'm paying $600!! I would add an extra 100 or two and get the TI, cause I'm paying lots of money anyway!
iBoolGuy isn't 120 FPS enough. That's just overkill. I have no reason to waste a extra 100 bucks (Which is alot in my currency) just for more FPS which I don't even need. It's not that good unless your monitor can handle 120 FPS. I don't want to wait for the 1080 Ti.
Dhruv Collins I mean yeah of course I'm with you in that, I'm not the type of "overkill" person, I just ask for a smooth experience and that's it, but for some people, they would pay whatever to get that extra 1 frame :\
and btw, I'm saving up to get the 390X :D I'm not gonna wait for the Polaris cause it's gonna be so expensive :V
iBoolGuy Which team are you on :). Team Red(AMD) or Team Green(Nvidia). I'm team Green but don't force other people to change their stuff to Nvidia(Hate those guys) and Well this is totally based on performance wait a bit and get the GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 they are like on par with the GTX 980 Ti which has 10/10 score in GPUBoss comparing with a R9-390X which has a 8/10. Pascal is way cheaper too well It's your opinion just letting you know how you can save some money.(gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-390X-vs-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti)
Still using this card right now. Some games - even ones that are only a couple years old can still be played in 4k@60+ FPS. Not many, but some. Others, 1440p or 1080p. Solid card. Didn't clean it at all ever(or take it apart) but going to do that soon. Temps hitting 90.
I wish I had this, but at the same time there are people who can barley run MC at 15 fps.
***** You must have a shit internet then because my computer that's like 4/5 years old has no trouble...
+The Pancake Mafia That would be me
+_Chipset “Ethan” PCG Ur processor must suck.
+_Chipset “Ethan” PCG It might be bottlenecking. 980's in 2-way SLI is not going to lag. Your processor isn't very good.
+The Pancake Mafia Talk about first world problems.
Any have any thoughts on the build I was going to be doing in a week or so? At this point with the 980 releasing I can do the following:
Quad Liquid cooled GTX Titan Blacks
OR
Quad Air Cooled GTX 980's
What will I be doing you ask?
Well I am a full time youtube gamer and streamer. So it's important that I purchase the newest games on the market, the day of release, I want the ability to play these games on the HIGHEST setting possible, max frames while still having the ability to render my videos in Adobe premier on one monitor, and on the other monitor I can be working on thumbnails and doing social media while on the middle monitor playing my games ect.
These cards will be hooked into the new 5960x Motherboard if anyone was going to ask that. Basically I need a workhorse computer that has the ability to do everything I stated above at the max capacity. So the million dollar question of the day is:
Which set of cards are a better powerhouse for what I will be doing. ALSO keep in mind I do run triple monitors.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can send me in the right direction!
TL:DR: Triple 980s should keep you happy for a while, and they're cheaper and slightly better. BUY LIQUID FOR THE SETUP HOWEVER, or you'll be onto the train to thermal throttle town.
You mentioned that you where running 3 monitors, so I would assume you need a card with a large amount of outputs, and the 980 seems to have a huge amount of display-port outputs over the Titan Black, which would be beneficial for you.
Secondly, if power is an issue for you, I would recommend the 980s, it will be cheaper in the long run to power them.
Finally, the 980 seems to JUST beat the Titan Black in most area's, which would be better for playing your aforementioned triple A games at the maximum frame rates.
I don't know much about the requirements of Adobe Premier Pro, but it shouldn't strain your GPU's much.
Make sure to get a large amount of RAM, 64gb would be my recommendation, but I dont know your personal usage in terms of RAM, however my 32gbs are pretty much always maxed.
In conclusion, I can recommend the 980s, and they should also be cheaper for you upfront AND in the long run.
THE BIGGEST ISSUE FOR YOU will be the heat. I would use the money you saved on NOT getting the titans, and going for liquid cooling. You'll need it.
Rainboxed Dash Awesome thanks so much for going into detail, it's greatly appreciated!
***** Hey man, just adding on to what the other guy said, Nvidia hasn't released any drivers for more than 3 GPUs in SLI yet. Honestly, I wouldn't even get three if you're getting high end models like these. 2 Way SLI 980s would tear through anything you throw at it at Ultra for a few years to come. I would invest the extra money in higher speed/quality ram or a better x99 next-gen motherboard. After 2-way SLI, the performance gets bottlenecked a lot because CPUs can't fully take advantage of all three. That's why you should save the $600+ dollars for other components.
Hope this helps
Since the only workstation thing you will be doing is video editing I would suggest the 980s. Use the money you save for water cooling. Since NVIDIA added the backplate (which I like) there would be no room for the fans to get air. As another user said "throttle town".
ClassyEnd That helps a lot bud, thank you kindly!
Always appreciate NCIX's videos. They are extremely helpful! I'll be upgrading from the GTX 770 to the GTX 980 soon. Thanks Linus and team!
Get a 3090 instead
@@Pxrth That post was from 5 years ago. Lol.
Oh man, I've got to get one of these for my wooden PC mark II... only I'll probably rig up some kind of insane passive cooling on it for inaudibility... muahaha!
That PC case was amazing, but IMO it didn't seem too powerful, it would be awesome to make a high end gaming wooden silent PC :D
Did you do it?
@@TheRealNeoFrancois i did actually
@@DIYPerks nice.

Depends on when the place I'm buying my computer from gets it... Hopefully soon! :D
***** fuck you man
So... Apparently, the 980 is faster than the 290x... So that means that THIS is also a Titan killer for half the price. Right? =D
yeah basically, the titan wasn't meant for gaming. the titan will win with the rendering and all that though.
441meatloaf Unfortunately for you, you're wrong. Yes it had GTX branding, but no, it's not really a gaming card.
pingo6able it is meant for gaming.
"GTX TITAN GPU is a revolution in PC gaming performance." - From the nVidia site.
The ones for rendering and film industry are the Quadro series
441meatloaf The Titan is exactly the same as the 780 Ti but with unlocked FP64 cores which are only used for some workstation tasks. It costs more than the 780 Ti and as far as games are concerned it's the same card, so if you're buying the Titan instead of the 780 Ti it's because you want to use it for workstation stuff. It's more of a hybrid card really. Just because it says "gaming!" on NVIDIA's website doesn't make it a gaming-focused card, if you actually watch the NVIDIA keynote, all they talk about is unlocked workstation performance and specifically say it's designed for CUDA developers. If all you do is read 1st party website and marketing material and take it all at face value, you will discover that (for the most part) every product is the best thing in the world and is good at everything. You need to look at what the product IS, not what it says it is.
441meatloaf Initially it was not meant for gaming, obviusly everyone knows that the GK110 core that was in the Titan, Titan black ect ect. Was actually just a Tesla core. The Titan card in itself in a hardware standpoint is actually not, and never was intended as a gaming grade card, but Nvidia learned that the Gk110 core when given the right drives, was a gaming powerhouse. The Titan is a gaming card, anyone who says so is completely stupid, but it was never really intended to be a gaming card. Anything under the GTX line of cards will always be targeted to gamers and general consumers, anything labeled as a GT or GTS is multimedia, and obviously Quadro is for 3-d design, rendering, cad ect. Tesla is meant for general compute loads. A GTX card isn't only good at gaming, you said that Quadro cards were the better for rendering, which isn't very true, the fact is that all these cards can do basically anything that you throw at them, some better than others yes but still.
I love my GTX 980 in 2-Way Sli..Though not much FPS improvement from the GTX 780 TI Cards that i went from..These new cards run really cool and overclock really well..Paired with the 5960x there great cards
sloppywetblow No doubt. The my SLI as well bro

Haunted Abyss LOL! Wut?
I'm watching this because Luke told me to in the GTX1080 video. I do as I'm told!
I bought one of these last year, crushes all the dx11 games I play. Still a beast.
Finally! A worthy upgrade from my intel hd graphics 4000 :)
Looks like it's time for u to upgrade
I miss the kitchen Linus times... Maybe less than NCIX times but still...
8 years ago we were talking about how to fake GI to imitate path tracing.
And now we can do path tracing in a somewhat playable level in game.
The GPU market is fuxked up but at least the technology is moving forward lul.
Great overview! liked!
I just wish you'd do benchmarking tests (vs other cards in new games) because that's what I was looking for in the video.
That moment when you realise linus has probably had this card for ages and has only told us now :(
Most probably NDA'd.
Yeah i know
Another day, another step in future for PC master race.
wow 980 is already 2 years old
man 980 was a beast back then
these 2 years went too fast for me i can't even beliebe it, the gygabite g1 was a birthday present for me back in november 2014, i practically missused it since i was playing dota and tf2 and the only heavy games i played with this card were the witcher 3, shadow of mordor, wolfesntein, doom and some other games i don't even remember, apparently high end cards are not for me.
Omar Maestro how much should i pay for one i have a gtx 650 ti and i wanna upgrade
chrisHD you can buy one cheaper than a new 1060
Rommel Torres like what u recomend me ?
This card truly is a beast. I purchased the MSI version of it. I originally wanted a 970 for $350 but when I saw amazon had the 980 for $380 with tax included I had to get it. Best card I've own. Maxes out any game I've played on it so far at 1080p/1440.
emersonleon85 I'm buying the MSI Gaming 980. I'm glad to hear good things about it.
+SMC Its really a beast. I was hesitant about the MSI card even though I've heard good things but I am really happy I took the plunge. looks great and is super quiet under load
+SMC I'm selling mine for around 400. negotiable of course.
AndRootPro I went for the GTX Titan X. But i'm sure someone will buy it eyes closed it's a great price especially if the card is in good condition. I was debating a few days ago what to do with my GTX 750Ti as it's useless to me, then i decided to put it in my mom's PC
SMC Yeah, anyone who's interested just reply to dis, cards near new, have the box and all manuals.
RIP GTX 600 series... :(
why?? i have gtx 650 and am really happy with it xD!!
GeeGne -bAb they're going discontinued
I have a 670 myself, a bit sad really considering I only got it a year ago.

Great review! exactly what i was looking for. My top 2 choices for a new video card
(780 Ti or a 980). Since i dont overclock my video card i think is safe to say that the best route for me is to get the 980? :)
I still have this card and somehow its still working great!
Same !! I ordered a 980 ti (broken) to fiddle for fun but still my 980 is very decent at 1440p
So... when is the 980 *8GB* version coming?
I like to see a video of you boxing the gtx 980 and ship it to me. That would be great!
Epic, thanks for the review.
Just got a 980 TI so wanted to watch the 980 review before headin over to the next one. Cya
So will the 980ti be coming out soon.
Ah old days, I bought it as a gift to my little brother .
m..... f.... anti aliasing seems hardcore
Bought my PC in 2016 and it has this card, still using it to this day and hopefully it lasts till the year 2020 :)
i have a i7 4770 3.5ghz and a 80+ gold 500w PSU will i be able to run a 980? or a 970?
Robert Gonzalez A five hundred watt PSU is plenty for a 980.
Robert Gonzalez I think you're a little close, but you should be ok. You're teetering a little, so I wouldnt OC it with buying a new one.
no it wont
sarcasm
but lol 500 watts only? u need power supply with at least 600 w or wait for blue screen on monitor
babahonaga yep, go to this site to check how much watt you need and add addionaally at least 100 more watts www.coolermaster.outervision.com/
The GLORIOUS PC MASTER RACE ascends again
Dissapointing performance over the previous generation of Nvidia cards. I suspect that the next revision of Maxwell will have a 384bit bus, higher clocks and probably more RAM on it. There is more than enough power headroom to do such improvments. But for now, the card isnt worth it.
The bandwith on the card is much higher on the 980 so its using more of the RAM and GPU then older generations of cards.
ethan wot
not exactly its using them better.......
Thats what I meant sorry :P
Guess it's just an overclocked 780ti for the environmentally conscious or something.
ricojes
nope, its a better card for the environmentally conscious and the power hungry......
Amazing!!! When is this coming out? I can't wait!
2:09 "it only has 2 6 pin connectors a hint at the incredible power efficiency"
Nvidia now: 4090 requires 4 8 pin connectors and will melt if it's in a bad mood
I know I can't believe it's 3X the power consumption! Oh wait it's also 10X the performance...
@@Nebnub nice, now lets sell our kidneys to expirence this high performance
Let me guess, the next card is going to be the GTX 990? With dual chips on the card? It would be good if they could bring that out straight after!
It's like a pattern! x'D
Just got a 4080 and this hits different
I remember watching this back in like 2015, just came back now (and I have one lol). That intro was a blast from the past, I totally forgot about it. I'm sitting here having flashbacks just over the intro theme. And the old kitchen, and babyface Linus. This is wild.
Is it worth overclocking gpu and cpu?
How much fewer life time do I have and what do I gain for it?
I have fx 6300 and 280x gigabyte edition and 212 evo for cpu cooling.
Playing on 1 1080p monitor.
My motherboard is asrock 970 extreme 4.
You are going to need a new CPU as yours is bottlenecking a 980, heck, even a 780...
You can get stable 4.6Ghz or more with that cup without need to worry to much go watch some over clocking videos and visit forums if you want to ask questions about it but that CPU is nice for over clocking
I really suggest you to get another cpu because a 6300 isnt going to work well with a 980
David Vu I am not using 980 or 780 I am using 280x read what I wrote.
Overclocking doesn't reduce life, heat does. Overclocking has huge benefits. For example, i get much better frame-rate on a moderately OC'd 770 in my heavily modded Skyrim install to the tune of about 15%. Only clock to what your cooling can actually support.

FMA Aliasing is rougher.
GROW UP, SAGAT!
My 580 is still kicking some major ass!
my 560ti died :(
My 480 is still a jet engine...
Im running 2 x evga 580gtx superclocked with 3x 3D monitors an it's still smashing it, Can max most of my games even across 3 screens :)
Kiro Zopp Hahaha. Those 480s are like having a hair dryer in your case. Just like my old 4870X2.
hi i was wandering about video editing and rendering ?
is for editing as good as gamming ?
in this range of prices could you find better for video editing in generals sapects ?
thanks a lot for your amazing job and sens of humour !!
cheers
Well, that's a good $400 off my planned rig since the performance is right up there with the 780ti with less power consumption. tis a good year for PC hardware
Now it is a 30$ Ebay card
10 years later we have path tracing in cyberpunk
8 years later and this card can still play AAA games
Thanks for the video! Appreciate the pricing as well please post oc guide

Yes.. Ram is the next thing to come out in 3 years maybe. DDR4 , upgrading to that would mean you would have to change your whole PC unless they engineer it to work with old motherboards
No.
I'm not too sure if the SSD would last that long but it should work
Xendrus Idziak Explain how it will not?..
Fancyslimshady No.
Buying this thing in 7 months.
I would say spend the extra and get the 980ti, it's a lot better though more expensive
+DumbleDerp don't give dumb advice. unless your planning to play in 4k or 1440p you don't need a ti if it's only for 1080p stick with this card
+Philip Nilsson why not a 970? It has really great performance and overclocking will make it reach close to 980. unless you get it for a good price like 400$, then it would make sense.
Yea, what are u getting th card for?
+G&T HD Im guessing its because if you over clock this it will be really good? k? k
I have a gaming pc with one 780ti, and I would like to upgrade in the soon. Should I go ahead and get a 980 or just get a second 780ti?

30% better than 680.... What ever happened to Moore's Law?
ufster81 ikr, very sad. :(
Son of a Zombie Well Moore's Law now applies to power consumption.
ufster81 tell that to AMD... POWER POWER POWER. Same technology :(
Moore's Law never said stuff get's twice as fast every two years. It said the components (transistors) get twice as small. We're seeing that gain in reduced power consumption, not increased preformance.
Austin Schafer the 980 has less transistors than the 780 (5.2B vs 7.1B)
:(
My old 7870 broke (while being under waranty) and I had access to a 10% discount where I used to work. Bought myself a reference GTX 980 and boy, do I love that card.
Apart from the fact it's so much sturdier than any previous graphic card I've owned before, it's truly amazing. Runs most of my games at 2560x1440 (100Hz) just fine while not functioning as a glorified heater.
If you've got the money to buy it, I suggest you do, or go for a GTX 970 or something. They're both amazing cards.
I haven't been paying attention and I may sound like an idiot, but they skipped the 800 series?
Yeah they didn't want it to get confused with the 800m series or some stupid shit
they actually did!
Yep, no one really knows why either.
xMoose338x rumors says that if the desktop series would be 800 series now people will think the GTX 900m series would be better than the desktop one, but that's nonesense
Yup, they skipped the 800 Generation.
I wish they didn't overclock because I don't do that and I need to know the factory clock speeds of the cards because some overclock better than others...

2014: Back when top flag ship card are affordable.
Ahh......those days 😌
video cards are getting too big and too heavy. thats not an imo thats just a fact.
my sister recently bought a new PC with one of these cards in it. it droops in its slot because of its own weight. thats not good.
they either need to make these things smaller and lighter or figure a better way to secure them to the motherboard.
(making them cost less would help too btw. a new video card now costs more than the last gaming PC i bought 5 years ago.)
this is also the top end card. the 960 is have of the size in length and 3/4 of the width. much smaller
I know it's kind of late but you could get the amd r9 nano
Me watching dis video 10 years later becous i cant buy anything els
Many thanks for this awesome overview of the GTX 980, I'm not one for playing all of those games that you benchmark but I do fly that awful frame killer called FSX and wonder if the GTX 980 would bring anything to the party? I already have a GTX 780; which does handle things pretty well but I am one for new technology and things that are shiny therefore I am definately considering buying the 980.
Will be nvidia GTX 1000 cards?
Yeah gtx 1070 and 1080 will release next September or October they release a new card series every year.
oh my gosh... hmmm..... gtx 2000... 3000.... :D
Safwat Khan
looking at how nVidia has been nameing their cards it will most likely be 1700 and 1800 instead of 1070 and 1080 even though being the same cards just differnet nameing for them.
yumri4 ikr
yumri4 No?
7:03 It only took generations eh
Holy s. $500 for a flagship? 2022: flagship hahahaha pay me $1500 at least
Just ordered a 980ti today will probably receive it in like a week so ive just been watching graphics card videos all day because im so hyped.
I'm an AMD fanboy but hearing those clockspeeds. *heavy breathing intensifies*
im gonna wait till AMD release their cards. Find which is the best for the money then probably jumo to 1440p res. I perfer amd but got nothing against Nvidia. I just think waiting to see both sides is better than blindly buying a product now that has a lot of potential to be worse and more expensive.
ChronicCoding I said the same ting but the prices are gonna be hard to beat
ChronicCoding
more and more games nowadays are using nvidia gameworks so IMO its best to just go nvidia.
ChronicCoding they would need to sell their r9 290x bellow 300 bucks. They can't sell it for $330 because no one would buy it when the 970 runs cooler, makes little to no noise with lower power consumption. It would have to be like 280.
I JUST bought a 770.. And BAM 970. Fuck me sideways
Im on that same boat. I didnt even know they were released until a a week ago. Gtx 770 still a great card though. Ill upgrade to whatever series comes after 900. 1000? i feel like they might start some new numbering system like amd after 900...
Probably gonna go for their titan series next. Maybe it'll be the T-1000? :p
What manufacturer is your card from? Because I got the same issues with both my 680s :-(
My 770 is pretty much a golden boy when it comes to perfomance. When I see people doing benchmarks, it seems like my card always overdoes theirs EVEN if it's the exact same brand and all that higgamagikky
Another day, another one, another one..
Great Video and Got a question on What Video Cards I need to get for playing Dragon Age: Inquisition How to get The Best FPS in the game with what cards setup ? On Intel or AMD FX cpu setup !
is the microphone in your nose? ... cause it sounds like that
And the GTX1080 just turned this into a paperweight
lol
Rtx 2080 turned the gtx 1080 into...
A better value gpu
dear santa...
Lol
Were those benchmarks from an overclocked 980 or stock?
Thanks.
Benchmark GTX970!
My question is: Why on earth are you reviewing a Graphics Card in the kitchen? xD
R9 390X, do your job.
overclocking guide!!
That and a non-reference comparison (once they are available) both within the 980 line up and against comparable 780ti non-reference cards.
Does this graphics card support gay marriage?
HighSpeedPhantom no nvidia would never
HighSpeedPhantom But Intel sure does
HighSpeedPhantom Well I have this card so I sure hope so!
HighSpeedPhantom haha, you never know. :)
lol
HighSpeedPhantom Yea it does, what do you think SLI is?
I just got the gtx 980 for $100..it out perform my gtx 1060.
Same dude
So I just bought a 780... For no reason.
Only if you bought it to brag. Otherwise the card is still very much viable.
if its evga dont worry
Why....the release date was practically set as soon as Game24 was announced, then when you consider that there was the offer on 700 series flagships terminating today it was 100% certain that this would be 980.
The GTX 780 is still a beast of a card and will play games at maxed out settings. No need to worry. :)
So I stopped following GPU news for a few years now, but I might be building a new computer soon. I've seen the high end from Nvidia, but where's AMD ? Didn't they usually both come out with new cards at the (loosely) same time ? It seems the 290s and so on are a year old than the 980. Are they planning new cards or what happened ?
