I love this list so much, Xenogears and FF8 were some of my most loved games in my childhood (late 80s kid here.) They're up there with Chrono Trigger. I just purchased Tales Of Arise and I HOPE to god there is romance in this game. Truly am a sucker for it. Earnt my sub for this video.

Like only a few hours before doing the final fight they mention certain things they used to get the good ending but i did love the ending. One the music was god tier but most important is the MC gets the girl. Lot of tale games just don’t do this so it was new for me. Story wise i give it a 8 out of 10. For character i give easily a 9, some of them i say are 10 out of 10 easily. Rin character development was very good. Combat is easily it best aspect. Very smooth and action packed for me, plus having your team have their comments to eachother were great to hear. I love the game and it was so my goty for that year.
Zidane and garnet love story is my favorite ff story as a thief he stole my heart and the game is the best I always replay it and the same goes for ff8 I really hope it get a remake I want a HD of that ballroom dance!!
I love when you find an amazing JRPG or any type of game for that matter that can make you feel every range of emotion from being excited one min to crying the next. Tales of Berseria brought out every possible emotion for me.
You mentioned the shadow hearts romance having a tragic end but that isn't the case, the ending of the second one makes the first one a whole lot happier.
@@Rhetzelle My bro. In the second game, the Canon ending is that he sacrifices himself but retains his memories. He's sent back to the start of the first shadow hearts game, there he relives those events. But this time he saves Alice. Which means that the good ending of the first game is actually the true ending of the series.
Personally I like games where the main character is a girl. So I loved trails in the sky. And they did kiss if you actually played the original, though as far I know it wasn't because of something lovey dovey.
Twilight had a love story? I'll be Damned!!!! lol... and my favourite is FF8 Squall and Rinoa... i mean he danced with her, hugged her, smiled at her with feeling and love, so he was not that dense. I always felt Zidane and Garnet's relationship would not work, as, they were just too different. but yesm the cutest couple ever.

I would like to point out that the romance in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is so much more developed and better than XC1. While in XC1 there is a kiss, both characters barely had time to develop with each other, while in 2, Pyra and Rex are just together throughout the entire journey Btw, if you know a game that has as good romance as XC2, please recommend to me, I'm so tired of "romance options" games where relationships are barebone, I really like the games where the love is baked into the story, like XC2, Uncharted series, Tales of arise(I don't like its story very much) or Halo ...
I have 2 personal examples, Estelle and Joshua from Trails In The Sky. The other being Reiji and Xiamu from Namco X Capcom. Both are couples 100% set in stone.

Kinda curious on your preference after playing the arise game. It hooked me up but the ending kinda sucks...

Great list! My favorite couples are Joshua and Estelle, Welkin and Alicia and Luke and Tear.
My favorite couple in jrpg would probably be max and Monica from dark cloud 2. The childhood nostalgia is too strong with this one

Check out the Xenoblade games. Xenoblade 3s especially, but 2s was also incredible. Xenoblade games in general are incredible, Peak of the genre imo.

Honestly i don't want any sequel after ffx2 as its already perfect but If they ever make ffx3 it better have happy ending.

I'm 40 hours into the Symphonia and the romance part is terrible - almost no scenes between MC and the girl. Story is boring too.
