The guitar shown was played through a Fender Deluxe Reverb from 1978 and recorded with a Shure SM57 (right) and a Sennheiser 409 (left) . The backing tracks were recorded into a Fame Twin Looper on the same instrument right before the recording of each video. A Line 6 DL-4 was used for additional loops and sounds. Overdrive Sounds come from a Vemuram Jan Ray and the Greer Amps Lightspeed as booster.

Come for the guitar. Stay for the playing.
Same!
Same 2
Same.....
I have a 1989 EG-59-60 (means: 59 Neck, Plaintop). It is a sensational guitar. I sold my 2016 R8 without any regrets
I have a 1989 MIJ Greco EG59-70 mint collection with a flame top great guitar I love it and will never sell it.....
...I'm hearing this for the third time in a row... 🎸🔊
Tobi, you have a fantastic style of playing 👍
So talented!!! Great playing. I have a 1976 Greco EG900 with U-3000 pickup and it sounds very similar. Greco LP from that era 80's are at their summit in terms of quality and craftsmanship.
Right i have an amazing 1989 Greco eg59-70
I've been wondering about the tonal difference of the 70's maple neck, and pancake bodies, vs the 80's solid mahogany EG-59 series. I might have to get both over time. My understanding is that the 70's models had better pickups in their top tier models. '80-'80 had DRY Z.
@@qua7771 Well idk thats if you believe all the hype yes the dryz's sound great. But I like the double trick pickup's that are what is in this guitar in the video and I have some screaming 82's in mine they are ceramic but I did the alnico magnet swap on them and they sound amazing I love my EG59....
@@johnsmith-oh2xoI have 3 EG guitars now, so I can compare them, A '77 EG700, "78 EG800, and a '88 EG50-70. The pickups are U2000, PU-0, and DRY '82 respectively. I wanted two guitars, but ended up getting the third one. I actually like the PU-0 pickups the best.
What alnico magnet did you use in your screamin'? I thought they came with A8's.
@@qua7771 Hey sorry for the late reply I used A2 in the bridge and A5 in the neck both rough cast alnico magnets...
This man could make a single string on a broomstick sound nice. Gibson is for looks, facts.
I came here for the guitar and stayed for the tasteful playing, thanks for sharing both
I don’t know what’s more enjoyable, admiring the fine instruments or admiring the stellar playing. Makes my day, every day. Thanks!
Holy moly, great tone and tasty playing that fits it perfectly.
This is not a les paul copy, its a les paul evolution!
Wonderful playing Tobias!
Sounds very similar to Knopfler's 58 LP. Beautiful!!
This is one of those videos I keep coming back to - such soulful playing by a master guitarist and a great guitar, too
The First Greco demo where the tone was so sweet. Beautiful playing. Have been watching Greco demos since I picked up a ‘77 (determined by serial number). Could any Greco fan please tell me how to identify the EG-x00 model on it?
The look of amusement about to happen when the loop kicks in was great. Great playing sir. Awesome sound. I have two Grecos and love them.
That was so beautiful. Thanks!
This wonderful song instantly stole my heart.
Great playing! I’ve got a ‘79 EG900 that I upgraded with Greco DryZ pickups from the stock dimarzios and wow, totally a tone machine. And they really feel like old instruments.
How did you find DRY Z? They're rare, and expensive now. You must have found them before the prices got ridiculous.
@@qua7771 I can’t remember if I bought them from eBay or from yahoo japan but they were around $400-500 for the pair. I felt embarrassed having spent so much for a set of pickups…little did I know they’d inflate to PAF prices.
@@TheBigbrizzle Lol. I recall an '80's EVH interview where he was embarrassed or paying a few thousand for an actual'59 LP. It's good to hear that you got what you wanted, and your guitar is sort of original.
I may be in the market for a Greco. I've been looking at 1882--90's EG59 types. They typically have DRY-82 pups. How do you think they would compare?
Thanks.
@@qua7771 I have one it's an 89 EG59-70 and I fing love it great burst just not a Gibson burst but damn close......
@@johnsmith-oh2xo 1/2 of the Gibson's I've seen aren't that great. Rock stars play them because they're paid to. I feel like Gibson is a brand that has been bought, and sold, passed around through multiple companies. They've had good, and bad eras.
The EG59-70 Greco's have an amazing fretboard. I'm fairly certain it's Braz. Mine has a flame mahog neck. The pickups don't need swapping. Amazing out of the box. Excellent value. They should have done fret binding on them.
Whouuuuwwww, what a Masterpiece!!!!
You are the one!!!!
This was so fantastic
I'll say it again - this clip is amazing!
OMG!!!! Stunning!!
So soulful and tasteful... Amazing!!!
Amazing
Dude pretty freakin badass chops man 🔥

Great playing. Great feel. Yes. Garry Moore vibes.
Beautifull
Touch my heart
So good, very "soulful" playing!
This man could stand in for Snowy white. Lovely
Oh my.
Still waiting for the 1h mix

Your posture is painful to watch mate. The playing is very pleasant.
Please look after your back and shoulder.
Greco not even close to Gibson or Epiphone thats the bottom line
You are so far wrong . .just so far wrong
Your right Greco's are better lol.....
@@johnsmith-oh2xo I've got a 76 les paul black standard absolutely fantastic guitar
