I am driving a Hyundai Sante Fe for the next 4 days. Its a rental car. Drives very well. Has a lot of pep. However, people advice against buying Hyundai and Kia brands. What is the truth and fiction regarding Hyundais and Kias? I have only owned and purchased Toyotas so far.
Personally - in general- I’d rather own a Toyota than an Hyundai or Kia… As a whole I think Toyota is of higher quality and more reliable than Hyundai/Kia. The difference between the two is sometimes great… but on some models they are pretty close. But, nothing is always true. Hyundai does have some pretty good models. Their quality is improving. However, I’m not a fan of a few newer Toyotas ex. The new Tundra or the CHR. I think it’s best to look at vehicles(and specifically the powertrains) as individuals. Research the specific vehicle, the year and engine/trans… before making a blanket decision.
