  • Real estate photos shouldn't be sharpened the same as other genres. This episode shows why, and how to apply specific adjustments, in the right order, so that you can create better real estate photos with higher impact. Below are links to pertinent information in this video:

    Wow, light bulb moment - I like the way you illustrated how sharpening works, in those graphs. Your editing sequence makes a lot of sense with that in mind.

    Thank you so much Nathan! Even after reading all of your books at least three times (except for mastering colors) I feel like I'm often times missing the smaller more important details that pull things together for that Lightbulb moment! I've only been studying flash/ambiant photography for 7 months by way of your videos and books. Doing so has taken my images and confidents to a whole new level. My portfolio has gone from 0 to100. You're an inspiration.

    Ok, I'll need to watch this video at least one more time to make sure I get it all clear but not because it's not; just because my brain is apparently still a bit fuzzy today because of Covid. Thank you for your books (I have two of them) and your many tutorials Nathan; they help a lot!

    You are awesome. Thanks for making videos that explains the why and the how. I watch the videos with the pause and play button to make shure I absorb everything. I dont have many collegues in Johannesburg South Africa so this is a great way to better myself.

    Excellent Video Nathan! I have used the masking while sharpening, but never considered the clarity slider before. Thanks for the tips!

    Hi Nathan, how does doing each shot , in this order, work with having a preset that does them all at once? Do you use the preset and then work in the order you showed to make the final adjustments? thank you.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  Год назад

      It doesn't. You might want to rewatch this one. I discuss those settings/order as exercises to do so that you know when to adjust what, and in what order, when you see an issue.

      @@NathanCoolPhoto would not be the first time to rewatch your videos. I might be as high as 5 on a few.

    Amazing explanation and a great “look under the hood” to see the why vs just the how. It caused me to go back and review some of your other books (which I have all but one) for a refresher! It did leave me with a couple of flash questions though. If you shoot thru a STU and diffuse the flash light are you decreasing the sharpness? Does changing the opacity of the ambient shot from 50/50 help to increase the sharpness and do you still use your presets if you are manually setting the contrast, sharpness etc?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  Год назад

      Thanks! No amount of flash diffusion will be as diffused as ambient light, so STU will be sharper than ambient. Each photo has different amounts of ambient luminance, thus requires different adjustments; however, as I point out in this video, the more flash, the sharper, so don't rely on ambient for everything. Presets are just starting points, but by knowing the adjustments outlined in this video, you can take things a step further and up your game. You might want to rewatch the second half of the video as well: note how I talked about the manual adjustments (in the order I showed) as being an exercise to familiarize yourself with these sliders to know what to adjust for different circumstances, which will further help in your editing for various conditions.
