  • WHAT IS TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM
caused by some type of trauma, whether it be emotional or physical and that shed typically will occur within 90 days after the stressful event and it will happen no later than 120 days, and the shed itself can result in you losing upwards of 33% of your hair.
Within a 6 month period, and when that happens there's only, a handful of things that can actually control it, so one topical melatonin really helps calm down TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM
shed 2, make sure that your ferritin, and your vitamin d 3 are good, you should use a ferritin or vitamin d 3 supplement to make sure they get into the optimal range.
low level laser therapy is also, a very powerful thing to help control telogen effluvium I recommended it, I recommended it very low.

I am a 23 year old female, with little stress about hairfall.
My hair thickness has reduced to half of what it was in 2
years, I had colored my hair 7 months back. I am eating a
healthy diet from almost 2 months now. I do proper hair
oiling and wash with parabens and sulphate free
shampoos. My blood test is normal with ferritin levels on
borderline. I am consuming B12-Ferritin syrup from past
2 weeks. Every time I touch my hair I have around 20
strands in hand, pillow cases and everywhere makes
upto around 300 approximately hair fallen throughout the
day without any hairwash. I am really worried about it. I
have thin strands of hair type No history of thyroid in
family. What could possibly be the cause?

Sounds like you certainly could have telogen effluvium, which may also be related to other nutritional problems. And yes, it does affect the hairline.

Assalamu alaikum Doctor, I have been suffering from telogen effluvium for about 4 months. How to treat it? I'm studying on my own in a foreign country and I don't know the language yet. That's why it's hard for me to go to the doctor. Tell me how to treat it. Please help me.

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  5 месяцев назад

      Wa Alaikum Assalam,
I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with telogen effluvium. It can indeed be a challenging condition, especially when you're away from home and facing language barriers. Based on the information provided in our video on telogen effluvium, here are some steps you can consider to help manage your condition:
Topical Melatonin: Applying topical melatonin to your scalp may help reduce the shedding associated with telogen effluvium. Melatonin is known for its potential to improve hair density and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Ferritin and Vitamin D3 Supplements: Ensuring your ferritin (stored iron) and vitamin D3 levels are within the optimal range is crucial. These nutrients play a significant role in hair health, and deficiencies can exacerbate hair shedding. Consider using supplements, but it would be best to get tested for your levels first if possible.
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT): LLLT can be effective in promoting hair growth and reducing hair shedding by stimulating cellular activity in the hair follicles. A laser cap with about 80 diodes, used for 10 minutes twice weekly for six to nine months, may help calm the condition and encourage recovery.
Since navigating healthcare in a foreign country can be difficult due to language barriers, these self-care steps can be a starting point. However, it's important to seek professional medical advice when you can, perhaps through university health services or a doctor who speaks English or your native language. Understanding and treating the underlying cause of your telogen effluvium, whether it's stress, nutritional deficiencies, or something else, is key to effective management.
We hope these suggestions offer some relief and guidance. Your resilience in facing these challenges is admirable. If you need more personalized advice or support, please don't hesitate to reach out.
