So this is what I would look like,😅, as I am a beginner, and being almost 67. Buuuut ! Very healthy and in deacent shape, I think, should find out soon, 8 days till I get mine. Thanks for the video, hey how old are you? Don’ t need share ✌️
Early 40s. You will be ok, my advice is just take it easy and wear knee guards and MX boots as it's the fall you need to worry about as it can take more time to bounce back to riding after an injury.
Great start! Don't forget to hit the 'ABS on/off' button till 'off road' appears on the screen. Turns ABS off in the back, but also switches off traction control, which would really make climbs difficult on loose surfaces. Can't wait to see these here in Ireland.
It is a great bike. On a side note I wasn't happy with the print quality of the 3d printed camera parts so bought a new 3d printer and reprinted them for you and Mr Aus. Plus I've got two new prototype designs. They are all printed up and ready to go with many spares. I can mail them to you if you want them quickly as I'm not sure if when I will make it down your way. Just need your address.
@@outie555 Thanks mate! That's awesome! I'm camping right now but will get back to you when I'm home. How did you mount the Sony on the chin? Did you make that as well?
Brave ride 💪💪. I remenber a buddy advice me never going into the dirt alone cause shit happens even when your experienced. I'v booked a test ride in two days and I'm afraid this bike is going to rev my heart!
Good on you for having a go offroad. A few points, you'll eventually stack it and that's OK,it's part of the learning curve and fun. When offroad you'll occasionally find yourself in stressful situations, they're only stressful because your skill set isn't where it needs to be in order to overcome them initially, that's ok too,it's how you learn. Go at your pace, be prepared for the worst and expect to fail at certain times, reflect on these experiences and build your confidence. Note, although tyres are important, and assuming you're using offroad oriented tyres, it's 80% rider and 20% bike/tyres.
Thanks for the tips! Yep it will be a challenging but fun time riding off-road and really looking forward to it. I've done 4x4 driving before but taking a motorcycle with one driving wheel off road is something that is a lot more difficult but a lot funner.
Great video. First scratches on the tank? Thanks for being brave enough to share all your doubts and trembulations. A lesser man would try to hide it. That's a snazzy jacket your wearing. Do you mind sharing the brand and model. Cheers.
Thanks, it will be good to one day look back on it and see how far I have progressed. The jacket brand is motordry. Adventour is the model. It's really good for all weather conditions. Got the matching pants too.
Well done, that tack from the lookout is like ice down the bottom and can often be chewed up by 4wds. I had a horrible time trying to get out of there solo on the T7 with I had the stock tyres on. As for the other track, I've ridden past it countless times but never gone for a look down it so pretty keen to see now. Good to start working on getting comfortable standing over the rough stuff, knees and elbow slightly bent and let be bike move under you a bit.
Not sure the track goes anywhere or just comes to a dead end but it is something different. Thanks for the standing up tip and I'm so glad I didn't keep going down that slippery slope at the start now!
Used to come up and back down that track riding through Paradise Valley from Murphy’s Creek back in the 80’s. Definitely not for the for inexperienced after wet weather. Had few scary moments down there we thought we’d never get out.
Nothing beats a challenging effort! However, road motorcycle boots aren’t made for tracks that muddy. I think a wider foot for the sidestand is a must as are crash bars. Thanks for your videos!
Yeah totally agree. My boots are MX adventure boots and have loads of grip and still was slippery on that slippery slope. Just waiting on those accessories to come in to the dealership, hopefully very soon.
Ignore the bad comments. If you don’t know how important ABS is you won’t understand how to use it. It’s not a bad thing. When off roading turn off your ABS or by turning on off-road mode and it will be a whole new experience. Once you become competent at trail riding, riding on the roads in the rain becomes much safer as you’ll learn what it will feel like to lose the back and front end even with ABS ON and know how to correct it safely. FOCUS ON TRIAL RIDING, YOU WILL FALL, BUT YOU WILL LEARN
Go and get some training man. Do a few offroad coaching courses and some enduro tours on dirt bikes. It will help you wonders off road. I'm not an expert off road but I now have enough experience to get me out of trouble.
Good advice. I finished my first two hour session this afternoon of a 'Returning Rider' course with CycleRight on their bike. Even though I had years of experience on and off road it has been some time. Times and bikes have changed. Instructor was excellent and knew what I needed. It was worth every cent. I'll do at least one follow up session and then add an off road session as a bare minimum. It felt so good.
Those slippery tracks are exactly why the lighter ADV bikes make more sense. Just turning around a larger adv bike in those conditions is exponentially more difficult. The 450 MT is not just a better adv option than the monstrosities that everyone has made up till now, it is also the sharp edge into our acceptance of Chinese bikes. The Japanese and Euro manufacturers have held back on these despite the market screaming for them. Now that game is over.
is it me or when you start to release the clutch and give it some power the speedo spikes to like 25 kmph and then drops back down? That was a surprise!!
It was because the back wheel was spinning in the slippery mud. Had no traction on that first slope. It's a lot steeper but it doesn't look it on the wide angle camera lens.
How are you recording your voice and motorcycle sound while driving, do you connect your camera to your helmet comms? or some other way? It'd be great to see a video about your helmet and camera setup to see how you get it all recorded, also that doesn't look like a GoPro, so keen to hear your opinions on that white/grey camera :)b
Sony action camera. Microphone is just plugged into its 3.5mm microphone input. Only downside is that they made the sound levels too high in the camera so it distorts easily. I've ordered a volume adaptor cable for it so will see if that makes the sound even better. Microphone is a Sony ECM-LV1. I'll make a video once I've got the sound sorted so that way people can replicate the setup.
Tyres and weight distribution A good way to learn quickly would be to buy a cheap 125 that you don’t care about damaging All the knowledge can be transferred to the bigger bike
Can You get access to the Digital service manual for this bike? I have no dealers around and this information would be nice for doing service on my own.
hey man just a question ... I got the same camera but my videos are so bad when i finish rending them .... what program u use and what settings? thanks!
Ok, so what you have to realise is that RUclips will down scale your videos bitrate if you upload it as 1080. So it's best to render your video as 4k so RUclips allows a higher bitrate. I use Magix movie pro. Basic program and there are better ones out there, but it's simple to use so I have stick with it. I record at 60fps 1080. With the highest bitrate the camera will do.
