Great review, I'm pretty sure you can just hit the Wifi Button on the device then hit your WPS key on your router and it clones all your router settings on there (rather than manually doing it like you did- but good to know how to do it, just in case that doesn't work)
My router doesn't have a WPS button and wouldn't auto connect when I pushed the WiFi button, so I had to do it manually as well... In case anyone else has the same issue

I don’t want a device on one end of the house mistakenly connecting to the adapter on the other end of the house while the actual router is closer. Can this be prevented? Does it happen?
Great tutorial but I have a question. Someone advised me to use this in my customers houses to connect their solar inverters to the household wifi because when they change their router as long as the master end was plugged back into the new router the solar inverter would auto connect to the router, no need to edit the AV 600 to the new router (I would have the receiver end hard wired aswell)
Is it in a surge protector or outlet extender. It could cause it too do that since some extenders see it as interference. It sees it as electricity that it should block out and not let it go through. Some do this and some don't
Thanks for the demo. I did pair and then when moved the receiver to dead spot and plug to power, the home icon button did not turn on and sure enough wireless internet not connected. Is the problem in home electricity wiring? Thought? Thanks much.
OK, so to answer a common question. In my situation, I needed wifi signal in a detached garage behind my house. I paired the device like in the video, but now I have the base getting internet through a switch and plugged directly into a wall outlet. The wifi receiver is in the detached garage also plugged directly into a wall outlet. These are on different breakers, but it works well enough to stream youtube videos/music to my ipad, which is what I needed it for. Speedtest is showing 3.5 meg download and 6 meg upload. This is about 1/4 of what it was showing from when they were on the same circuit and plugged directly into the router. Hope this helps someone in a similar situation.
Oh, for me, it occasionally works. I have three of them, but they often lose connection, and I can't figure out how to set them up correctly. It seems easy when you do it, but I've tried everything. It's so frustrating! They used to function so well.
Bought mine a couple of years ago, went in hospital came out turned it back on hasn’t worked since just will not par up spent many hours trying. Does it mean it’s out of date and I need to buy a newer model.
Thanks for a great video. I use Google Wifi in our house but have difficulties to get good and fast Wifi connection on every spot in the house. It´s too complicated to install LAN-cables to every room in the house. Maybe powerline extenders would fit my needs. Does it Work with Google Wifi?
UPDATE: Issue now appears to be fully resolved - see additional update content at the bottom --------------- Good when working, but the repeated randomly intermittent drop-outs make this to unbearable to use. The drop-outs are momentary and the device reconnects to the internet seconds later or up to half a minute later. The user interface software is also difficult to remain in, as it soon disconnects you at some point. Googling this device with the problem returns a scary search result showing that many users are encountering this issue with some being at the end of their tether. It’s just no worth the stress and is troubling that tp-link have not resolved this over time. I purchased the ver.5.0 as well, so is a very current unit. -------------- UPDATE:- Amazingly I believe the issue is resolved. Unbeknown at the time, it appears the problem was related to either the tp-link extender kit not liking my Virgin Broadband router, or visa versa. I purchased an ASUS RT-AX86U WiFi Router and then naturally put the Virgin Media Broadband router into “modem” mode only, this reconnecting the tp-link extender to the LAN port of the now new ASUS Router and hey presto, it works like a dream with no noticeable random internet disconnects for the last few days. I can’t believe it was the Virgin Media broadband router that was part of the issue and had I never purchased the ASUS RT-AX86U WiFi Router then I would have never known any better. Suffice to say that now this TP-Link Extender kit is fully working, it must be said that the connection link and reliability appears rock-solid. Very pleased.
Great review but for anyone buying this it works excellent on wifi with no issues but if your using this for direct wired connection hoping for fast speeds especially if you have gigabit broadband the ethernet ports on the receiver end are only 10/100 meaning they are capped at 100Mbps not 600Mbps as stated on the box. Sorry to burst anyones bubble
so if i have 50 mbps speed how much it will be if i use ethernet cable for my pc? because when my laptop is directly wired connected to the router the speed is great, but when it’s wifi it can be just 500kb/sec. idk what to do because my pc is in the room without router and i’d like somehow to have ethernet connection to it
I have a question the second PLC works as a wifi router can I connec it directly to it or i have to have a second wifi router in the case that i want another wifi router in other place of the house
I don't really understand I follow your instructions getting the lights all consistent on but the "power" light on the AV600 keeps on blinking - when I click the button at the bottom of the AV600 the blinking stops. So your result varies from mine, which is quiet frustrating and does not make sense. Any advice?
On another YT video it says that if you clone your network on the extender, as long as your target device can find the existing WiFi, it will select that over the extended WiFi unlike a mesh that chooses the closest stronger extended signal. So, by not cloning your network, you can manually choose which network to connect to and avoid this problem. Also you don't address if the power sockets are from different power groups.
Important to do like he says and change the wifi name and password to exactly the same as your original network. That way your devise think its all 1 network and you dont have to swap everytime you move around.
Followed instructions but router bandwidth is far slower than the AV-600 at 26 Mbs. So I connect the ethernet cable and nothing happens - it still shows that we're on WiFi. I'm perplexed.
I can't seem to find the right product that will allow me to plug my PC's ethernet into it to use our wifi but NOT use the electrics (the TP link I use currently is terrible for speed, something to do with the wiring in my house). So I could plug in something that will pick up the wifi, and my PC's ethernet cable can plug into it and use that wifi signal rather than use the electric/wiring in my house. Sorry if that was hard to read.
I have this unit which I use to run WiFi to my garden shed, works great but recently I've noticed that it loses signal most evenings? Perfect during the day. Any clue what could be causing it? It's not that there are many people in my home during the evening using WiFi either which may drain it? Thanks
Using these instructions I set up my TP LINK yesterday and it works great. Tried to set up the 2nd one and the lights on the larger unit won't stop blinking and make a connection. Any insights? Or is the unit buggered?
IMPORTANT QUESTION: Does this device support Power over Ethernet (PoE) to smaller devices such as surveillance cameras? Usually you have to buy a switch to convert ethernet in PoE, and I am wondering if I can use this instead?
I heard that this needs to be with the same outlets as your house wiring ? Also does this effect other devices signal. Because my family is on zoom and things quite a lot during these times. They want to know if it will disturb them. I am a bit late so I hope you do reply :)
I have a question I haven't seen answered anywhere else. Can the two units be plugged into any two outlets on the same circuit, or do they also have to be on the same breaker? The room in my place with the cable outlet and internet equipment is on a different breaker than the room that needs a signal boost.
Do they both need to be plugged into the wall? I have plugged the big one into the wall, but do I need to plug the small one (which normally connects to the router) into the wall too, or can I leave it in a power strip?
Both need to be plugged into the wall. The power strip will interrupt the connection between them. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking and subscribing!

You might have different power groups each with a fuse
Great little device. I've been very happy with mine.
would this help with lag in games ? Right now im playing on wifi
It could but it would depend on many different factors.
Gauging Gadgets what are those factors i need help before i buy one
Michael Jacksion I went ahead and pulled the trigger on one of these and it helped my lag tenfold I really recommend one
Gauging Gadgets is buying one in an hour so i need to know thank you
Great video. 2nd time using it as had to move house. Thanks!
Wow. Thank you so much for the detailed tutorial ❤️
Easy and very Quick setup.
I always suggest this type of equipment to my customers.
Ok boomer
My home runs 65mps. I connected the TPlink to my detached garage. It only gives me 14mps. Any ideas why??
I’m having a problem where the light is green not flashing, but when I plug an Ethernet into the extender to my pc it starts blinking, idk what to do
samee!!!
Oh, for me, it occasionally works. I have three of them, but they often lose connection, and I can't figure out how to set them up correctly. It seems easy when you do it, but I've tried everything. It's so frustrating! They used to function so well.
Wait I got the same size the smaller version do I need the big and 1 small
Does the receiver and the extender has to be on the same electrical circuit once you set them up?
Their website recommends same circuit.
It is recommended.
Question... mine is working, however, the bottom light on the receiver is blinking. Does anyone know why?
Thank you so so much - very clear instructions given by you and wow all good with my home office. Again, thank you soooooooo much!!!! 🙂

You are definitely the best,Thanks!
Bought mine a couple of years ago, went in hospital came out turned it back on hasn’t worked since just will not par up spent many hours trying. Does it mean it’s out of date and I need to buy a newer model.
7:39 do I need all 4 lights on before it’s paired. Great video btw.
Thanks for a great video. I use Google Wifi in our house but have difficulties to get good and fast Wifi connection on every spot in the house. It´s too complicated to install LAN-cables to every room in the house. Maybe powerline extenders would fit my needs. Does it Work with Google Wifi?
Do you have to connect the receiver to your computer? Or can it work wireless?
Clover it can work wireless
If your wiring in your house has different rings but runs ti the same consumer unit will the t p links still work in all the rooms
UPDATE: Issue now appears to be fully resolved - see additional update content at the bottom
---------------
Good when working, but the repeated randomly intermittent drop-outs make this to unbearable to use.
--------------
UPDATE:-
Amazingly I believe the issue is resolved.
So you can use this for using Ethernet cable to a PlayStation? Just 1 has to stay wired to router and the other wired from plug to console?
Do you need a router or can u plug it into ur internet box?
Great review but for anyone buying this it works excellent on wifi with no issues but if your using this for direct wired connection hoping for fast speeds especially if you have gigabit broadband the ethernet ports on the receiver end are only 10/100 meaning they are capped at 100Mbps not 600Mbps as stated on the box. Sorry to burst anyones bubble
so if i have 50 mbps speed how much it will be if i use ethernet cable for my pc? because when my laptop is directly wired connected to the router the speed is great, but when it’s wifi it can be just 500kb/sec. idk what to do because my pc is in the room without router and i’d like somehow to have ethernet connection to it
Thanks for a clear concise video, and thank you for NO music.

Thank you so much, a video with clear and concise instructions to set up tp-link myself.
Can I have the 1 plugged on router and the other one on my room? Or they have to be on the same room?
It can be any room
Hi Can you have more than one receiver installed around a large building in order to widen the wifi signal around the whole of the building?
Does the one box always have to be connected to the WiFi router or can they all be in different rooms ?
Important to do like he says and change the wifi name and password to exactly the same as your original network. That way your devise think its all 1 network and you dont have to swap everytime you move around.
Are all the lights supposed to be on once you put it into the rooms that needs the wifi
How close does the receiver have to be to the router?
Does the LAN cable needs to be permanently plugged in to the router for this to work?
Does it have to be in a power strip or can I put it next to the router and than connect the other one in my room?
So I can just plug it straight into my PC with out needing a dongle?
Followed instructions but router bandwidth is far slower than the AV-600 at 26 Mbs. So I connect the ethernet cable and nothing happens - it still shows that we're on WiFi. I'm perplexed.
Hey my internet sucks and I was wondering what would be better, this or a new router?
Thanks
Can you use them as mesh or just as a separate network
Using these instructions I set up my TP LINK yesterday and it works great. Tried to set up the 2nd one and the lights on the larger unit won't stop blinking and make a connection. Any insights? Or is the unit buggered?
Do they have to be in the same outlet?
No, just on the same electrical system.
IMPORTANT QUESTION: Does this device support Power over Ethernet (PoE) to smaller devices such as surveillance cameras? Usually you have to buy a switch to convert ethernet in PoE, and I am wondering if I can use this instead?
I’ve got 350mb Virgin, do you think this would work with that speed or would I get a lower speed?
What does it mean when the middle light on the one connected to the router is not on?
I heard that this needs to be with the same outlets as your house wiring ? Also does this effect other devices signal. Because my family is on zoom and things quite a lot during these times. They want to know if it will disturb them. I am a bit late so I hope you do reply :)
I have a question I haven't seen answered anywhere else. Can the two units be plugged into any two outlets on the same circuit, or do they also have to be on the same breaker? The room in my place with the cable outlet and internet equipment is on a different breaker than the room that needs a signal boost.
Would you be able to connect a extender to the powerline adapter? Using this exact one?
So for this product if you put the receiver in ur dead spot it’ll get just as good internet as you would near the internet box?
Do they both need to be plugged into the wall? I have plugged the big one into the wall, but do I need to plug the small one (which normally connects to the router) into the wall too, or can I leave it in a power strip?
Both need to be plugged into the wall. The power strip will interrupt the connection between them. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking and subscribing!
How long is the ethernet cable
So, does the device always have to be plugged in to the router? is there a way to set it up near the router without an ethernet connection?
