I am starting college in the Summer to be either a Special Ed or Middle School teacher. I have been in Special Ed for most of my life. Thank you for this video.

I was about to be hired as a special education teacher. I have a masters degree in it too. But in the meantime, I’ve been subbing long term in the position I’m supposed to be hired into. The special education chair has already included me in their emails. I’m seeing that a lot of the SPED teachers are totally stressed out, many want to quit! I’m re-thinking whether I want to really be a teacher or not. Maybe it’s not worth the stress!

Honestly, if you're going to do this job, you have to learn how to prioritize, and how to keep work at work. This job can be all consuming, especially if you let it become your entire identity. This is hard to avoid, because many who choose this career are very giving individuals. I highly recommend having hobbies and friends outside of teaching to help with building a strong work/life balance.

I’m in my first year of special education teacher and I’m finding out this is not for me. I’m trying my best not to quit mid year but it’s so much work and it’s hard especially when I have two small children. It’s a lot of stress. I’ve been sick for the last couple months, my kids have been sick and now they both have COVID. It’s so hard :(

I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling. What part is making you want to quit mid year?

I have to this a good video for all teachers. All teachers are working hard and burning out for many reasons. What is the answer? Not sure but the system need to change for our children and teachers. Smaller classes and pay increase. Blessings friend!

Yes, smaller classes would help teachers more easily meet the needs out their students!

Just a note, Jesus is coming back soon! Soon war and famine will happen in the US. Please put your faith in Jesus, he loves you very much! Confess your sins and be sorry for doing them. Ask him to forgive you and come into your life and save you. Then get baptized. Read the New Testament and pray.
