    With the wheel and rotor off, you can check the sway bar link,the CV boot, and also change the oil filter w/oil on the passenger side in one shot. From way downtown!!!kabang!!👍💪

      I feel that, my impact gun isn't getting the bolt out (this GXP sat in snow for 2 years up in Reno). It's either rusted in and I just can't get it or I've got that clinical derp

    Dude, nice work. I already knew how to replace them but you gave me several new ideas and reminded me of things as well. I'm doing this right now on my 2005. #subscribed ...

    I looked this up because I wanted to get a look at it since I don't have any light right now... and see what I was getting into tomorrow. It's really cool when we use the Internet and social media to help one another. Guys like you posting videos, taking the time to do it, and several contributors commenting puts a lotta ideas out there for people to be able to do things on their own that otherwise would have to pay to get done. Several other guys and myself did this years ago on a vintage motorcycle forum. When you do that you're providing invaluable information to someone who doesn't know. But even those who are mechanically inclined and/or know how to do these things themselves, can still share ideas and learn new things. Love it! Kudos brother 👍

    Excellent brake job video!
    Was told I need new front brake calipers. I may try cleaning them up like you showed to see if that fixes the problem.
    Or I may upgrade to the Impala or F-Body dual piston brakes.
    Thanks again. One fo THE BEST Grand Prix brake job vidoes I've seen.

    what torque specs are the slide pins and caliper bolts? Would they be the same for a GXP trimmed grand prix?

    there is nothing I hate more then those massive caliper pins! I've spent so much time and frustration trying to get them in!

    Okay, the Home Depot Orange covered metal hanger thing, is that really the product name or what, you also said there usually on a End cap. I can't figure that out also went to Home Depot in cyber space and searched / filtered & Still could not find that Orange covered thing you strung up the detached Caliper with. Other than that good stuff , thank you.

      RARECAT auto at Home Depot right now so I could find the name of them for you. The brand name is GearTie and they should be on the end cap of the hardware isle. I hope that helps 👍🏾

    Using a C clamp to compress piston works as well..

      I watched a video on a 2005 and they had to use a special tool on a socket wrench and turn the piston, can you use a clamp on that or will it not work?

    Did you take the top off the brake fluid reservoir before pushing the caliper pistons back?

    Will this problem cause a ringing noise when moving? My 2004 had a ringing noise from the front that seems to get better when I turn.

    Any suggestions on how to get the caliber to fit when putting back together? Can't seem to get the old caliber back on the brake pads.

      Did you compress the caliper piston in fully?

      Sure, you CAN skip any of these steps, but there's doing it and doing it right the first time. Cleaning and lubrication prevents rust, noise, failure, and it makes the next brake service easy. In my mind, it's worth a little more time. Brakes are, by far, the most important system on any vehicle. If the engine is serviced incorrectly, you can't get to work. If brakes are serviced incorrectly, it could really hurt someone. My recommendation: Take an extra 5-10 minutes to do a complete service.👍

    You put antiseize on all the parts but you forgot the caliper bolts.

      raceman171 you never put anti seize on caliper bolts or caliper bracket Bolts. Just clean the threads and torque to spec. Apply loctite if the manufacture requires it.

      I always put anti sieze on the slide pins, being careful not to put too much as to not contaminate the threads. I've seen plenty of rusty and siezed slide pins. That's just me tho. I'm not out to disrespect anyone here. Just sharing my experience.👍

      Caliper, it's the piece that the break pads go in, that also has a piston in it that you have to push back before installing the pads

      shadowknight2005 2005 nope. Some cars I’ve done so many times it do it by feel. Caliper bracket 133ftlb. Guide pin bolts 70ftlb

      DAVE McDAVID nope. I turn the car on and pump the brakes when I finish each corner and check the fluid when I am done. I top off as needed
