Trying Food Markets in Seoul | Mangwon and Gwangjang

- This week we're in Korea! After a 24 hour layover in Seoul and eating a bunch of food, we knew we had to go back. We're checking out Mangwon market and Gwangjang market during this trip.

I love the sanitary quality and treatment of their live food. Either refrigerated, glass protected, ample water to swim in until purchased. And, these vendors clean your catch beautifully if you like before going home.

Oh hell yeah, I have family that live in Daegu! My father was also stationed at Osan when I was a little kid, I have fond memories of living there.

thats definitely the funny thing with eating cold noodles esp soba, we naturally have the tendency to blow on food thats typically served hot.
but honestly isnt always the case cause theres times where i blow on icecream lol.

Great episode. Can you explain the raw crab? Is the marinade acidic, like a sort of ceviche? Say you lived in the Pacific NW, caught your own Dungeness...how would you prepare like this?

Gejang... my favorite growing up. You guys should try some samgyetang, seolleongtang, gamjatang, and galbitang (soups/stews). Everything else im pretty sure you have tried or have been exposed to.
Red bean paste in that duk (mochi) Cold noodles called naeng myun. Cool spots!
We love to have fresh ground same day "tar tar" chuck beef. A touch of Lawry's seasoned salt and the raw beef is wonderful. Never tried a raw egg but a cooked egg white with runny yolk goes super well with it too. We also cook our beef medium rare all of the time and find it has super taste and texture than any other cooked level or doneness. We see many folks cook their beef well done and can't figure that out...maybe they think its not good/healthy for you any other way as the flavor is so poor well done.

I dont know if there is one at those street markets but you missed out on bindaetteok! Its mung bean pancake, so good. Its probably pancake season there with the cold weather. Also cold noodle is really good with yukjeon (meat pancake).

The food looks awesome, but the fact that most of it is cooked and sitting out in the open at room temperature is kinda a turn off. But glad to see you guys doing your thing and enjoying the favors of life.

im no expert but ive watched some south south korean and south chinese ppl online drink their alcohol out of bowls lol usually clear looking fluid followed up by a loud wince after drinking lmao.
I tell my wife she looks good the way she is. Even after a big Ole pimple. I hope one-day women can stop worrying about how they look and embrace what us men do. But then again. To each their own.

Makgeolli (cloudy rice wine) ... the worst hangover!!! The raw (unpasteurized) version, sold locally with a short shelf life is very very tasty. Exported versions are pasteurized and less tasty.
