0:48 Best Entry Level: Street and Steel Oakland 2:49 Best Premium: Rokker Rokkertech 4:48 Runner Up: Rev'it Lombard 2 7:12 Best of 2018: Klim K Fifty 2
I have a set of the Street and Steel Oakland jeans, they are the BEST bang for buck I've found in a riding jean. Another element I like is the denim itself is very soft to the touch. Oh ya and the stretch they have is crucial, I'd never want another pair without it.
Eversince I watched your reviews. It really took my listening game into a whole new level But now when i listen to other youtube reviewers I feel they're very slow when they talk 😆
callisto224 part of the problem with cyclegear is the stock crap gear in most of the stores unless you are talking about the one that's over in Carmichael California and that's their largest store
Sorry guys but the stores in our area of NC, are GARBAGE!!! I hear some much of riders able to go into these big gear stores and are able to try on helmets of different brands. And not just freaking SHOEI. They have race suits and educated employees that know how to size folks up for all of their gear needs.
Rocket asked about more stores and the company that owns Revzilla also owns Cycle Gear. Also, the Cycle Gear in my town has a good selection of gear and and friendly staff! I shop there when I'm not too lazy to just buy stuff online!
Hood jeans, (UK) offer CE live 2 armor in knees and hips, and full.length kevlar from hips to ankles, on all sides, good for about a 70 mph get off. They'll tailor jeans and twill pants to custom lengths. Cost generally around £170-230 with armor included. Best jeans I've ever bought...but lower production shop--not mass market, but definitely well made.
Im literally just getting into motorcycles and the culture of it all.. had no idea that they made jeans with armor. Damn, I have a hell of a lot to learn.
because not only did they inform him that he had to wear THE anthony t shirt, but that he'd have to tuck it into all the jeans he will be wearing for the duration of the video.
I simply use the draggin’ liners and wear my own jeans. Very comfortable and my jeans fit how I want them to fit. Maybe it’s me but I have never tried a pair of riding jeans that fit properly.

I already am on the waiting list for one of them! Thanks, you guys have always been super helpful. It's why I keep coming back and watching your videos!
The slim fits might look "too tight" on the muscular model like the comments are saying but if you're a 125lbs 5'6 guy like me, baggy ones would look just as bad and in this case the slim fits are your best bets. The point is it all depends on your particular body type.
Would like to know your opinion of Tobacco Motorwear jeans - Kevlar. I've had a pair for two years, have lost a lot of weight and I need to buy a new pair. Not sure Tobacco is worth the $339 for women's kevlar jeans at this point. Fit was never great on the looks dept. Thoughts?
Unfortunately since we do not carry Tobacco gear, we are unable to really speak towards the quality or sizing since we don't have access to it. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Gear Geeks! - Pat
I wish you guys had a brick and mortar store in the north east, but I understand the cost reasons for being online based. I just like to physically try stuff on rather than ordering and hoping I'm pleased. That said revzilla is always my go to online shop, and your reviews/sizing charts do make it easier than many competitors.
This is our showroom in the video. It's here at our headquarters in Philadelphia, which personally I'd consider part of the northeast. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/philadelphia-gear-boutique
I really appreciate these videos, it is amazing how difficult it is to compile the information needed to make fair comparisons between the many products available. I think the reflective in the Rev'it jeans is worth mentioning, Klim and all of the others really need to incorporate this into their design, there's no reason not to. I would like to see a version that has a cuff that includes reflective all the way around the inside of the bottom ~2 inches of the leg. Also, the Rev-it has what looks to be the most robust seams (triple stitched), I wonder if the seams would be a weak point on something like the S&S Oakland in a real slide situation. Another couple of features that can be highlighted are reinforced belt loops/anchor points for jacket tethers, or jacket-to-pant zippers, if those are present on any of the jeans, and rubberized buttons and rivets, if present.
... I love these vids, and I’m subscribed with the bell notification on lol, but I never get these videos in my subscription feed.... Really thinking about going for those Klims, tho I’m also interested in getting a pair of waterproof jeans.
Just for hanging them up on a pants hanger. Manufacturers put them in riding pants more-so for stores to use than anything else. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat
If you use the version that includes SAS-TEC hip and knee protectors, then that is a great option. If you don't have any armor, though, you then lack impact protection. -DrewZilla
This is probably a stupid question but, Can you wear these jeans on a plane, I’m going riding with some friends interstate and flying to meet them, apart from say the CT armour which you can remove, will the jeans set off the metal detectors at the airport.
Hey guys, I have been reading and seeing you all for some time. I like how comprehensive your analysis are, every time, ... but ... Would it be possible to make a table summary of all the options, prices, characteristics you review and help us make our decision with a more "visual" tool? Thanks for being there for us!
If you can step up to about $230, I highly recommend the REV'IT! Lombard 2 Jeans, Philly 2 Jeans, and Reax 215 Jeans (plus compatible Rokker knee armor). I am digging the new format boys. good to see the pants on a bike with boot options. older format covered the product well but most riders want to see how they look on the bike and with other boots. Dilly dilly!
Yes, that is correct and normal. The armor will sink down when standing and should have appropriate coverage when knees are bent on the bike. -DrewZilla
Loving the new format for the videos, and Anthony must not have had enough coffee he's a lot more mellow and laid back not his usual non-breathing 1000 mile an hour self.
The Dainese jean size chart confuses me a bit. Could you please tell what size Dainese Chargers would fit me best? I'm 6'1 with a ~95cm waist and usually wear 33x34 Levi 502s.
The jeans are just based on jeans waist sizing, so i recommend size 33. They should have just enough length for you. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-charger-jeans

Bohn armor certainly is good for impact protection, but it has no real abrasion resistance. These motorcycle riding jeans generally have pockets for both knee and hip armor as well as materials that are abrasion-resistant (Kevlar/aramid, Cordura, UHMWPE). If wearing Bohn armor with regular cotton denim, you don't really get any abrasion resistance. You could easily wear looser riding jeans with Bohn armor instead of any armor included with the riding jeans though. Some people use the knee armor included in most riding jeans and pair them with padded/armored shorts for hip/thigh/tailbone protection. -DrewZilla
That's exactly right. We picked them last year but wanted to pick some new and different options for this year. The Covert jeans are still some of our best sellers. -DrewZilla
From owning mutltiple pairs over the last 5 years, the knee armor just doesn't stay in place well without the elasticated stretch above the knee. I wouldn't recommend jeans without them.
I recently had a gear geek tell me they didn't have much in the Philly store after I said I should just ride there from Pittsburgh one day. Is that true or BS?
I’ve been wearing leather track trousers for commuting to work as I’m very conscious about safety. But am thinking about jeans instead for the casual look. Can you recommend good boots to go with these?
You won't get full race boot protection in a short boot. You lose shin protection and the safe limiting of ankle flex that most race boots provide. The Dainese TRQ-Tour Boots are low-profile while still providing great protection though. If you do want shorter boots/shoes, do you want something with laces or Velcro/zippers? -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-trq-tour-gore-tex-boots

I just don't understand why these jeans are the "low waist" style. They might look good on the sidewalk , but they really "crowd the boys" when riding and who wants "plumbers butt" flying in the breeze?
If your hot go for it if not by all means choose another style of jeans. LOL Personally I can pull it off. XD Adds to the air conditioning so badly needed in Phx Arizona.
Completely agree. Jeans these days are so low rise and not good for guys. I'm not saying we need baggy *ss jeans with super wide legs but lets start making higher rises now...
The slim fits might look "too tight" on the muscular model like the comments are saying but if you're a 125lbs 5'6 guy like me, baggy ones would look just as bad and in this case the slim fits are your best bets. The point is it all depends on your particular body type.

Good film. I like the direction this video took with a standing and seated position for the jeans.
Loved my Lombard 2 the C3 armor is so thin but very durable .
The Rokkertechs have been tested to 6 seconds 'slide time' and are very comfortable in hot weather. Keep my Kevlar jobs for cool weather only now.
Do riding jeans wash up as well as regular jeans? Any special care?
I simply use the draggin’ liners and wear my own jeans. Very comfortable and my jeans fit how I want them to fit. Maybe it’s me but I have never tried a pair of riding jeans that fit properly.
I may end up doing the same thing. I'm tired of seeing pair after pair of riding jeans that they only seem to stock little boys sizes in.
Dennis M do you mean not morbidly obese? Do a little more research, I’ve seen some go up to 53x32/34
Correct. I am not obese. I'm 6'4", 52 inch chest, 40 inch waist and 35 inch inseam. The inseam is where I struggle the most with pants.
Which one of these jeans would you recommend for a super sport (CBR600RR) looks like the 2nd to last would be best fit I wear 31x34.
Dennis M try hood jeans,, look on here youtube somewhere there is a big Canadian guy doing a review, I've got a pair and there great!

Thanks for this video. What's your opinion on Kevlar longjohns underneath regular jeans? I use SGS Abraguard longjohns.
If you use the version that includes SAS-TEC hip and knee protectors, then that is a great option. If you don't have any armor, though, you then lack impact protection. -DrewZilla
Well, good thing that I have the option with the armor. ;-) Furthermore I just got the Dainese Knee Protectors. Thanks for the reply!
You're welcome, Bo!
I really like the jeans you’re wearing compare to any Juice* displayed...
Great videos, definitely buying one of the top 2 jeans on ur guide. Very helpful
Do you guys have a video comparing kevlar in denim vs aramid? Really having a hard time getting some good info on it
Kevlar is just the registered trademark of DuPont for aramid synthetic fiber. So Kevlar _is_ aramid. -DrewZilla
This is probably a stupid question but, Can you wear these jeans on a plane, I’m going riding with some friends interstate and flying to meet them, apart from say the CT armour which you can remove, will the jeans set off the metal detectors at the airport.
Yes, you can definitely wear these jeans on the plane and go through security just fine. -DrewZilla
Are those jeans suppose to be tight around the ankle areas?
It all depends on the jeans. Some are slim around the ankles while others have a looser boot cut. -DrewZilla

@Revzilla, Is there a similar alternative to the lombard jeans but with replaceable armor? Thanks in advance!
The Lombard Jeans already have replaceable armor. Can you clarify your question? -DrewZilla
Is the armor supposed to fit low when I'm standing. My knee armor falls to my shins but sits at my knees when I'm in the riding position.
Yes, that is correct and normal. The armor will sink down when standing and should have appropriate coverage when knees are bent on the bike. -DrewZilla

I wonder how these protective jeans compare to something like the Bohn armor system?
-DrewZilla
I'm more of an SSGear moto jeans person, but I dig your reviews. :)
What happened to the Scorpion Covert line, seems it was favorably reviewed just last year.
That's exactly right. We picked them last year but wanted to pick some new and different options for this year. The Covert jeans are still some of our best sellers. -DrewZilla

Are you looking for full height boots or shorter riding shoes? Will you change into regular shoes at work? -DrewZilla
RevZilla shorter boots. Race boots are too cumbersome! But I’d like a casual looking boot with the same levels of protection that a race boot offers
-DrewZilla

What jeans pants do you have that elastane so that it is not uncomfortable or bad when I get off my bike? I do not understand why women are entitled to that material and men are not in the same version of almost every jeans ...
The following from REV'IT!, Speed & Strength, and Street & Steel all have good stretch to them. -DrewZilla

Stretch or no stretch, they look tight and uncomfortable.
the Klim Kfifty 2 might be more comfortable
How does he stay so still?
I just don't understand why these jeans are the "low waist" style. They might look good on the sidewalk , but they really
"crowd the boys" when riding and who wants "plumbers butt" flying in the breeze?
If your hot go for it if not by all means choose another style of jeans. LOL Personally I can pull it off. XD Adds to the air conditioning so badly needed in Phx Arizona.
Completely agree. Jeans these days are so low rise and not good for guys. I'm not saying we need baggy *ss jeans with super wide legs but lets start making higher rises now...
He mentioned the klim k fifty 1 were dad jeans. Maybe those are more your style.
Duluth trading needs to make some riding jeans. Comfort at its best.

The slim fits might look "too tight" on the muscular model like the comments are saying but if you're a 125lbs 5'6 guy like me, baggy ones would look just as bad and in this case the slim fits are your best bets. The point is it all depends on your particular body type.
Are dress pants viable?
No, actual dress pants are not viable, but we have protective riding pants that look like chinos. -DrewZilla

"Juice"
_100% JUICE!_
They’re all too tight fitting except for the Klim. I simply couldn’t wear anything but the Klim because of...well, you know.
I’m confused. I’m 5’11, 170 pounds and wear a 32. There is no way in hell that guy is 195 wearing a 32 and not dying.
Juice has a bigger torso and smaller waist, so he does actually wear 32s. -DrewZilla
I miss the mid 2000s when men's jeans weren't all made for teenage girls.
damm
All I hear in the intro is “humdy humdy drrrrrrpppp tringablingo brrrrrrtttppp” dude needs to lay off the coffees
Ok, cool. But where are the women's jeans?? Don't leave us out! 😕
We'll have a Women's Gear Guide with jeans options out soon! -DrewZilla
These skinny jeans aren’t working for me. I’m an adult. Family. Kids. Career. I don’t need my junk pushed up. These are jeans not spandex.
