    Just finished the course. Fantastic experience! Enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommend for new C8 owners. Definitely a challenging experience for someone who has never tracked a car. I'll certainly be back in the future for additional classroom sessions and track time.

      did you have to use your own car on the track? or do they supply you with a C8 for the actual track driving?

    • @duanegriff4950
      @duanegriff4950 3 года назад +1

      They supply you with new C8's. You pick out a car and that is the same car you drive the whole time you are there. They are all new C8's with the Z51 package and GT3 Competion seats.The facility has put the track alignment on all the cars.

    Ron Fellows Driving School is the best gift you can give yourself besides the C8 itself.

    Went when I got my C7. Probably the best school I've been to. Instructors really know these cars I side and out.
    Can't wait when the ZO6 comes out.
    I'll be back.

    Great informational vlog. Took delivery in December and you definitely have me considering going to Vegas for the driving school. Was all the driving in auto mode or were you able to be in manual mode, using the paddles?

    • @duanegriff4950
      @duanegriff4950 3 года назад

      Al your driving on the track was in manual mode. Get comfortable with the paddle shifters. Get ready to go fast and hit your marks. You'll have a blast!

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology

      Thanks 👍🏻 We were in manual mode using the paddles pretty much all weekend.

    It’s a good thing you don’t use your own car cause it eats up your brake pads and the pads are very expensive I wasn’t aware of this pads are over 1000 dollars for c8 don’t know if this is true or not hopefully we can get it cheaper somewhere

    I have run many track days on motorcycles. I would love to try it in a car! Maybe I will see You at Carolina Motorsports park one day!

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology
      @CarsCostsandTechnology  3 года назад

      I've raced/rode dirt bikes on a track since I was a kid, but I've never been on a track with a street bike. I'd love to do that someday 👍🏻 It's definitely a lot of fun in a car.

    • @randallmason9687
      @randallmason9687 3 года назад

      I also grew up riding dirt bikes. I learned more in one day at a racing school than I did in 3yrs riding on the street! It takes a good bit of gear, and bike setup for roadracing. It is fun, and I loved it. Buying race tires was like a giant vacuum sucking money out of My wallet!

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology
      @CarsCostsandTechnology  3 года назад +1

      Thanks 👍🏻 I did purchase the additional insurance. Didn't need it, but there were a few moments I thought I was about to use it lol...

    • @duanegriff4950
      @duanegriff4950 3 года назад +1

      I didn't get the additional insurance. I didn't feel that I would need it. Most people don't take the extra insurance. Any flat bottom shoes are fine. Most people had just regular tennis, running shoes. A couple had actual driving shoes, but it wasn't required or really necessary. I did take the picture package that contained photos of our group and my specific car out on the track, but there is no pressure to do that if you aren't interested in the photos. You'll love the experience!

    Normally I'd say this video feels like a paid promotion of the service but somehow it's not. It feels more like you finding a way to drive a Corvette and make a Corvette related video without owning one yourself. By the way, are you having a new car? Did you order it already or what's the plan here?

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology
      @CarsCostsandTechnology  3 года назад +1

      This was something I personally wanted to do. I'm sure most Corvette fans want to experience a C8 on an actual track. I made the video just to share the experience and my feedback.
      I have two other vehicles, so I'm not desperate to get another car at the moment. Because of the limited inventory prices are still too high on all Corvettes. I'm waiting to see what happens when they catch up on production and the Z06 comes out to decide what my next Corvette will be 👍🏻

    Which package is the most reasonable one...
    Is it cheaper if you bring your own c8?
    Thank you.

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology
      @CarsCostsandTechnology  3 года назад

      The "Owners Class" is the least expensive. They don't offer an option to bring your own C8 for this course, but you could probably take your own car to a track day there. Not sure how much it would cost though.

    Dear
    followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who
    buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into
    the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service,
    the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a
    malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help
    will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep
    your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluff

    Do you think the Z51 is worth it even if you never track it?

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology
      @CarsCostsandTechnology  3 года назад

      Probably not. Check out my most recent upload where I discuss that exact topic 👍🏻

    • @craigthescott5074
      @craigthescott5074 2 года назад +1

      Personally I opted for the Z51 over a higher interior option. Having a little more power, better handling, cooling, braking was worth it for me more than a higher interior option.

    • @CarsCostsandTechnology
      @CarsCostsandTechnology  3 года назад

      That's a great time if it was the same set up we had 👍🏻I struggled in the autocross, because I was just coming off of a track session both times and couldn't get used to the limited traction on the slick concrete vs. how grippy the track was. I could charge into the turns really hard on the track and then I blew straight through the cones on the autocross lol. I think my best time was around a 30.
