- According to Dmitry Yadrov, the head of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, S7 Airlines will be forced to ground its Airbus A320neo family aircraft due to mandatory engine repairs of the PW1100G, which has become increasingly difficult due to the sanctions imposed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

I feel like most of these A320 family aircaft might end up in China
@@jasamingarcia6685 They would be seized if they're flown to China.
I'd guess since they have probably unauthorised or non genuine parts on them, they can only be parted out.
Time to get the Tupolev 154s out of the moscow boneyards😊
At the moment, it would appear that S7 has no options.
Once the aircraft are flown outside of Russia, Turkiye, Iran or North Korea, they would be seized, otherwise Turkish Airlines could do swaps of the neo aircraft for some of the ceo variants in their fleet, and S7 would be able to maintain those.
It the Russians are so good at everything technical, they will manage to build their own aircraft. Or will they?
Could be worse. At least there is demand for used A320Neo's and A321Neo's around the world. Airbus can't build new ones fast enough to satisy present demand. What the Russian Government will permit I have no idea though.
Can you hear the world's smallest violin playing? S7's stolen NEO fleet has been flying with no Airbus approved service or maintenance for the best part of three years. They're "registered" in Russia, maybe even paid for recently, but they will never be sold to, or operated anywhere that uses FAA or EASA backed regulations.
Actually S7 bought the leased aircraft from AerCap in December 2023 for $572 million so I don't think there are any issues there.
no
S7 bought the airframes from the lessor right before the sanctions went on to effect outright to avoid issues with lessors, they've been doing their best to keep good relations with western lessors. Unfortunate the Russian government has put them in this situation, the fact they are retiring them rather then trying to keep them in service suggest that they know its not possible to safely operate these aircraft anymore and they don't want to take that risk given how hard its been to get parts and equipment for the older jets.
But no engine damage so far?
But it requires mandatory engine checks ... Like a d- check ... Where components have to replaced, even if they are not damaged
👍🙂☺️ nice livery
This is what happens when you steal the aircraft from the people leasing them to you!
Ho?? Boycott is still in effect
Vlad bad man
😂
Right to repair hackers
Why did Air Bus turn over the other 4 aircraft to the Russians? I think this is against NATO’s restrictions!
Airbus taking the Boeing route now?
Typical rash commenting without knowing the full context (and I bet you didn't watch the full video either).
S7's issues are with the A320neo family's PW engines which are infamous for their issues. It's not only S7 but airlines around the world suffering from the PW engine issues.
The issue is only exacerbated by the fact that S7 can't get new PW engines due to sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
Airbus doesn't even manufacture the engines, rather it is airlines that choose which engine they go with (LEAP or PW). The A320neo aircraft that use the LEAP engines have no problem at all which deems your statement "Airbus taking the Boeing route" nullified.
Lastly, Boeing's issues are with the construction of their structures (787/737 MAX), and their flight control system (MCAS). Nothing related to the engines which are the main point of this video.
All in all you look like you don't know what you're talking about at all when making this comment.
