Hi Ben, i hope you are well. It isn't a completely perfect comparison as clearly the 8mg has a lense that is different. For example it is like a 3:6 lense compared with a 2:8mg lense, hence one showing objects closer

There needs to be a stamp in the video when doing side-by-side comparisons so we know which camera is which. It would really be helpful as its easy to lose track. Thank you

Thanks for the Great Video and trying to explain some of the info. However you say the Dia of both are 12 and that isn't really the case. The 8mp has a Dia of 127 where the 5mp has a DIa of 122. While I can't say for sure but it kind of looks like 2.8 isn't the same lens for both 8mp and the 5mp I almost think the 8mp was using the 3.6mm lens because I have done a side by side of a 4mp 2.8mm and a 8mp 2.8-12mm and at 2.8mm setting the focal point was about the same where in this video it looks little zoomed in to the 5mp 2.8mm and is why I think it is really the 3.6mm. Most of my cameras are Motorized VF or manual VF lens cameras. I don't much like the static lens cameras but some I just have to learn to deal with them lol.. So what I would have liked to have seen is the 2.8mm 8mp camera against the 3.6mm 5mp

You mentioned these were TiOC 2 cameras at the start? They look like the older original TiOC model as TiOC 2 has IR and White LED illumination. Also, are you comparing 2 cameras with 2.8mm Field of View, because that "zoomed in" look indicates that you don't have the same field of view. The megapixels do not cause a zoomed in look usually. That is the Field of View .
You can adjust the brightness of the LED, but honestly having colours in an image is useless if you can't identify a person in the image.
You can't do anything to improve the ghosting in low light due to the small sensor size (I have the 8MP TiOC camera and have tried various settings)

@@EQLNetworksSecurity Ok thank u.....Ive been studying your fantastic and very informative videos with the Dahua line of cameras. Ive been running a coaxial HDCVI for 11 years with 14 cameras. I spent a lot of money over the years chasing a better picture. I thought 3 years ago upgrading most of my cameras to 4k I was on top of the mountain....hahaha I was so wrong. es during the day they look great. But going back to look was recorded is a whole different story. So Ive been fighting for years with the company that sold me the equipment that they deceived me about HDCVI 4k cameras. What I was able to figure out that watching a couple of my 4mp cameras that the pictures were flowing really smooth when something or someone would cross them while my 4ks were choppy or they seem to hesitate. So I confronted them why is this happening? While doing lots of research over the years all my cameras are Dahua with no name on them. Also my XVR is a Dahua made too just with no name on it. So what I figured out my XVR can only play 4k cameras at 7fps while my 4mp cameras are at 15fps. So I was pissed!! And its Dahua and my camera company pretty much deceiving me on buying products that cannot live to its full capacity what these are advertising. So now I do own two PTZs that are 8mp 4k and not mounted yet but in my system. So knowing all that facts I'm making the change to full IP cameras. I'm still on the fence if I want to buy a NVR from the people Im dealt with all these years and honestly they have been great. Just pissed some more upfront facts would have been told and just stuck to 4 and 5mp cams. So I'm starting the slow and long change over. I bought a 1000ft of Cat6a shielded and connectors and some testers to get my practice in. I know everything there is to know changing out BNC connectors and pigtails etc...They suck!!...My XVR sucks because u move it the BNC connectors are so close together in the box it rattles my imagine all the time. Plus lets not talk about the bulky mess stringing them to a power source main box...UGH!! yes got a mile of coaxial wires in my attic and a bunch of ladder climbing to do soon. But after such a long boring life story of myself...lol you and your videos are helping me decide in the future which IP would be best. Thank you again so much for doing these videos. Wayne from USA

Even worse, this 8MP is on the same sensor and CPU as a 2MP non TIOC camera so they had to limit bitrate and other parameters on the 3849 to try to make it functional, and the results are problems even during the day. So any type of AI will bring it to its knees.
In my opinion the 3849 should not be sold with that current MP/sensor and CPU combination,
