The Eeveelitions have helped me tremendously in attacking leaders. They get their charged move hella fast, so Cliff, Sierra, etc. burn their shields hella fast in the beginning
Yeah, I get you here. My leafeon (post com day 2021) will burn through shields as if it was a fire type. Bullet seed + Razor leaf gets you a charged attack in four attacks, and bullet seed doesn't take very many turns.
I disagree with calling Flareon "bad for raids". It's outclassed by Reshiram, Darmanitan, shadows and megas, but it's an amazing budget option. It's DPS is basically the same as Entei, Charizard with BB and Infernape with BB.
I think it's sad that gym defenders tend to be forgotten. Besides Pokémon for raids and pvp I also try to invest in Pokémon that are good to defend gyms. We don't all have 20 Blisseys at our disposal, and if someone already put a Blissey in, you're out of luck. Meanwhile there are some Pokémon that are so bulky that they can just be real obnoxious to take down for other players. One of my favourites is My 100% maxed Shuckle. Low cp, so its heart in the gym hardly drops at all, and it is so bulky that it can take a while to deplete its HP. Same for Chansey. Snorlax is also pretty solid. Currently working on maxing out a 100% Miltank to see how that one fares as a gym defender. And now I'll have to give Vaporeon a try too!
