Simon is like Borat’s enigmatic and brilliant mad scientist circuit bending younger brother. He only has one pet peeve. If it doesn’t make sound he wants nothing to do with it.
I have the Organelle M and it is one of my favourite instruments. But I'd love to have the 201 as well. I'm with you about how fun and immediate the Critter & Guitari instruments are. Also much deeper than they appear at first. The 201 looks great man!
I like mine. Its fun because you can just pick it up and play. I've got an app on my ipad that gives you the chords as it plays a song and its fun just to jam along.
I should make and market hard maple slab sides that could be attached with double sided tape so you don't need to drill any holes. I think I'd wedge shape them like the old Moog's or Sequential Circuits wood side panels. I'd use hard maple rather than walnut so it would match the buttons. Probably $30 bucks a set.
1) Ur videos stopped popping on my main feed, so I had a little break from U, but after it I have to say that the quality of ur videos goeas realy high up from what I remeber. 2) 11:24 - thaht's a great groove
20:05 Thank us! ....For the music.... and the songs we're singing 😂🕺🏻 I also like such gear very much. It reminds me a little bit (only a little bit) at the SOMA ROATS (Rumble Of Ancient Times). Do you know/have it? I can highly recommend it to you. Thank you for your contagious enthusiasm!
Great video as always. I got mine a few weeks back. Love how quirky the engines are. The drums & formant engines are great fun. I briefly thought the gift knob might be presence. (Tee-Hee) The HMDI out and USB allow you to program it with pure data patches so you can do cool stuff like swapping out synth engines & you can probably edit the functions too. It made me re-buy the Organelle 'M' though, so be careful. I forgot how much fun these things are. :P ALSO: UK postage on the 201 is $78 which DOES NOT INCLUDE vat & customs charges so expect to pay an extra £70 on the Kickstarter price of $295 & $78 p&p.
I guess it would be cool if those drums couls be played outside of loops, like manually (maybe they can) because they sound really cool, especially with the filter.
They made a post about it on the kickstarter. The way I would see it I think this is more of an instrument and organelle more of a platform. So everything this can do you can figure out how to do on the organelle. But you have to do the figuring out how to do it 😄
The fact that you can know that -- some how, some way -- you'll be able to "fix" it to your liking is so refreshing. I'm so used to being at the mercy of the companies that make things, that it kind of caught me off guard that you could just skip that whole learned helplessness thing.
You don't need to do RUclipsr face in the thumbnails your content is interesting enough as is and I feel like the generic thumbnails make people lump you in with all the other trash on this site which it's absolutely not

Wow! Thank you for backing the 201 Pocket Piano and for this great video! 100% yes re: 20:00-20:09
it does not muti track record like he stated correct like play drums and synth say over them ?
Nice review! Looking forward to mine, backed the Kickstarter early on.

What is name of app please
I just got mine too! As an OG Pocket Piano owner, it's just different enough to be exciting, and just similar enough to be nostalgic.
Well said! 😁
@@SimonTheMagpie Is there a solution to being able to latch while playing????
That is freaking cool man. You always find the good stuff!
Bro why did my brain go there when I read the 2nd chapter title “sounding”
Ooh I might switch hehe 😅😅
...which made my brain start thinking about anatomicoscillators... Would the member or the hand be the carrier wave or an LFO?
Sin-the-size(matters)r 😂
thank us! i laughed big time. cool video bro. what about the sd card slot. on board souund stuff sounded cool. tell us about it in the next vid

I’d love to get one of these from you! My 201 is arriving soon. How do i contact you?
That fashionable summertime wardrobe.
Very cool synth, and very cool video. Thank you, Magpie, I always enjoy when you show us the shinies that interest you.
Great video man. I don't have the need or even the money for one of these but you've made me want to buy one.

This thing looks like it would be a blast to loop with. Stacking all those sweet tones together into a cartoony cacophony.

I guess Critter & Guitari heard you because mine is that same yellow as the Septavox.
Simon, Have you tried the Orac software?
No but I have heard great things! 😁😁 if I had an organelle I would be stoked about it
love you vids 👍
Hey Simon, I’m curious, have you ever been asked to create music for a video game? Like, any indie devs approach you for their game?
We need to make this happen, like I don't know how though....but.....
Kinda fun NGL
Now when are you going to mod the version 1 into the Mag Pie-Ano?
They can’t include modes on the sticker because you can change them.
Yeah I totally didnt know 😅 thats super cool though. Saw through their emails a bunch of updates
As an Organelle M owner, I want this, but wondering what this has to offer that I can’t already do.
I think that it can’t do anything new that you can’t with the Organelle M. Not totally sure though.

@@SimonTheMagpie thanks! I’m curious, what do you like about this new model better than the original pocket piano?
Thank you for the music, the songs we're singing👏😂😂😂
Since the one that came out in the 2010s was a little below 200 $/€ i'm guessing this one will be 359. :D
I will take any latch I can get. (:

First time watcher and i allmost skipped it due to the thumbnail.
Ugh, no 5 pin midi ports, just mini midi. That's a bit of a letdown, not a deal breaker, but still.
anyone stuck this to a guitar?
375$
Kind of rambling presentation, even by your standards. Blah, blah, blah.
