If you mean his loss to Aster and how he starts going downhill for awhile until he becomes Dark Zane it wasn't that he thought his friends abandoned him it was more his ideals of being a good sport and showing respect to your opponent that were reversed
@@digitaladventurer2142 At least in the dub, he actually gets convinced by Shroud in 'No Pain No Gain' that everyone has abandoned him and that he's all alone
Zane's entire self-confidence was built on being #1, the guy who never loses. Once he graduated he found out how much harder the Pro League is and kept losing. Without that respect he felt like he had nothing, having become addicted to the feel of victory, becoming desperate to get it back.
And Zane seemed very much the loner type imo not having any friends or even acquaintances outside of the gang at duel academy. Thing I guess you could say is they didn't check on eachother after Zane left duel academy. Phone calls between eachother. But Zane doesn't seem like the type of person to do that. You could say Syrus could have called him as he was concerned about him but would Zane have appreciated it?
Even tho I don't really like GX, I absolutely loved this ending. The way it was ended in a tie, makes it to where Zane and Jayden are now equals. I'm glad there was no winner. These duelists gave it their all.
For almost 8 years, "Cyber End Dragon" held the record for the highest achieved finite ATK in the series in this episode. This record was broken with the airing of episode 98 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime, where "Number C39: Utopia Ray V" and "Number 104: Masquerade" achieved 83200 and 41700 ATK respectively, both topping Cyber End Dragon's record of 36900 ATK in this episode
Same but they were just using him to introduce the cyberdark deck archetype, even though IRL regular Cyber Dragons is a better deck so he swapped to a worse deck lol

It a season one finale so he had to end it with a bang with all he had rather then taking a loss.
You have to add the ATK points befote dealing them.
LOL
Just realized after all these years that Jaden actually won this duel, because he activated Battle fusion first. Zane's battle fusion would chain to jaden causing his dragon attack points to increase by shinning flare wingman's 4900 then jaden card would activate because it was played early in the chain increasing his wingman's attack by 20900 giving him no reason to activate final fusion.
Jaden and Zane are the best characters of them all. Zane he always respected his opponents, and Jaden said goodbye to zane, and Jaden still had a the shadow charm pendant 18:39

Zane would annihilate Kaiba lol, chimeratech overdragon is so broken it would OTK Kaiba in an instant. Future fusion + Overload fusion = instant kill.

Zane: No.......yes
I've always been a big fan of Zane and his decks. His Cyber monster that he used in season 1 can uses a retrain version.
Have you seen the extra cards for it? Cyber dragon core, Herz and Pharos not to mention xyz like cyber dragon nova and cyber dragon infinity

True
That's nothing compared to the deul with darts
Well,

Imagine having magic cylinder. This duel would have ended much faster.
Magic cylinder is stupidly op in the anime lol. Just randomly swinging with a 4k beater could end the game.
I got magic cylinder in my first deck
@@big_pip_energy_tt definitely a good card but it isn't invincible
@@redreboot483 It's also broken in pretty much anything in Yugioh
@@danielbalderrama4137 That's true. A card like Declan Akaba's D/D/D Oracke King D'Arc makes all effect damage give you life points instead of taking them. That card completely nullifies the main benefit though the attack would still be negated.
7:24 Jaden: I play pot of greed!
Me: WHAT DOES THAT DO???
Wow! When they said this duel was gonna be an Amazing duel they weren't lying.... This is my favorite duel of the series!
Fun fact: This duel was planned to be the end of yugioh GX and the whole yugioh anime franchise that's why it is too damn good.
Also due to Jaden's increasing popularity as well as the Hero archetype they decided to continue and give GX a second season.

Then came Season 3, in my opinion, the best season out of all
Then we got card games on motorcycles and whatever the hell is zexal…
What a happy ending for season 1, wish I could say the same on season 2 and 3.
Season 2 didn't have a tragic ending.
@@herbcruz4697 it did in the dub cause it doesn't continue after the Yubel battle
We don’t talk about the Season 3 finale
@@artexjay The villain of Season 2 wasn't Yubel. It was Saiou/Sartorius.

I never watched GX and beyond like I did the original series but watching these duels against the top duelist in the show is so satisfying.
For sure! The original series was my childhood. But I did catch a few episodes of gx. After gx thing kinda fell off for me though. I ended up losing all my cards and all my friends that I had played with stopped playing. So I didn't have much of a reason to continue. I might go back and watch gx though. Yu-Gi-Oh was legendary
@jacobburr3570 Indeed! The original series was my childhood too.
@@jacobburr3570 Also watched original as childhood, however up until 5Ds Yu-Gi-Oh is still a good series. After that it's not worth watching at all.
Playing the instrumental version of the Yu-Gi-Oh theme song at the end of the duel really worked well in this scenario
what a great episode but then Zane started doing drugs after highschool on the street
my favorite part of this comment is it's true
Electroshock duels: Not even once.
Nah he just got heavy into the bondage scene.
he was like i thought a school for duel monster would get me far in life! not even ITT technical institute would take him!
Is what you guys saying true and it was omitted from the 4kids dub? I know he did end up taking part in dangerous and illegal duels after his career as a professional fell through but did he also turn to substance abuse?
It's kinda sad seeing Zane laugh here knowing he gets tricked into believing all good friends abandoned him only a handful of episodes later
If you mean his loss to Aster and how he starts going downhill for awhile until he becomes Dark Zane it wasn't that he thought his friends abandoned him it was more his ideals of being a good sport and showing respect to your opponent that were reversed
@@digitaladventurer2142 At least in the dub, he actually gets convinced by Shroud in 'No Pain No Gain' that everyone has abandoned him and that he's all alone
that never made sense to me he graduated and left the island what did he expect they would all go with him and not graduate lol

SPOILER: I really wish that Zane never got "corrupted" :(
He kinda gets a bit better in the undubbed Season 4…
Same but they were just using him to introduce the cyberdark deck archetype, even though IRL regular Cyber Dragons is a better deck so he swapped to a worse deck lol
ID IZ ME it was such a dumb change regular Zane was awesome, but emo Zane sucked
There’s another season?..I thought jaden fused with Yubel and it was over
Evil Zane could've been so cool. If they took the time to expand on his character development into his dark side instead of just rushing it in one freaking episode like wtf I would've liked to have seen Zane's fall and rise in the professional world of dueling.

can we talk about how much Jaden breaks the rules of Bubblemans effect? It needs to have no cards on his field, NOR in his hand, but he ALWAYS have some cards in his hand EVERY GOD DAMN TIME!
Yeah, and he plays him every duel too because it's obviously broken af if thats the ruling
in the anime some cards got different op effects
To be fair, Zane repeatedly breaks the rules with power bond.
Everyone in the anime does.
Well he had it right the first time when Bubbleman was introduced in episode six of season one called The Shadow Duelist part 2 and episode 16 of season 2 called the Homecoming Duel: Part 2. But I think if I recall that every other time he got it wrong.

Do the writers come up with this stuff by practising with actual duels or do they just really use their imaginations?
Aloyus Knight imagination
It explains the bullshit they pull
They change some of the cards abilities too. Really bubbleman doesn’t allow you to draw 2 cards unless he’s the only card in your field as well as your hand, but in the anime they say he only needs to be the only card in your field

This I what I call clever writing. Whoever wrote the script for the battle is a genius.
Zane starts the duel with 3 cyber dragons and polymerization in his hand. He then uses polymerization to fuse the cyber dragons from his hand and Jaden’s mind is blown that he can do that. Jaden runs a fusion deck. The script is bullshit.
