"his cards are hardly better than a starter deck" that's like the worst insult in the yugioh universe.
By butt crack of king ack nan khanin you are correct
I laughed for a solid minute from that joke.
Thats not only an insult to their cards but their own souls 😆
That insult was funny coming from a person who couldn't even hold the confidence to use power bond till only once in this season.
Said Normal Level 2s with the newer Normal Monster support could be deadly in Link spam.
1:38 Hey!! you can actually hear Joey's voice going "neeeah" when Kaiba's name is mentioned! I love that!
Love the little touches GX had when tipping its hat to the original series
It's clear that with this series, they made Joey _the_ main character and Yugi _a_ main character.
I’m rewatching GX again and love it. The subtle nods to the original always makes me smile 🔥
Man, if you look at the moment people watched the most, it's exactly what you said, you made people go back to see the joke !
That Ancient Egyptian duel disk tech is amazing. Almost as good as KaibaCorp's 5000 years later.

"Dueling is much tamer now"
In the context of in-universe Yu-Gi-Oh! lore, Abydos is technically right. In the ancient past, duelists would summon the actual spirit world monsters themselves to battle instead of their spiritual energy through trading cards, and land, wealth, power, and souls were waged for real. Though the duelists are sometimes fighting for souls or the fate of the world, technically the vast majority of duels between players that take place are the friendly competition duels for fun. Abydos III just has no idea how much he was spoiled in his time, making it actually not his fault since he was never aware. In fact I like him as a character.
Yea. Back then when duels were waged, it was always an actual fight since they were all shadow games.
Nothing was for fun as losing could mean everything.
Irl there's that wealth and power thing - creepingly enough -as well, YGO is actually kind of a serious business thing even for normal adults with the taste of card games - this is why we have Yugitbers taking the game math seriously which i find kinda cringy but oh well, as well as market prices for cards -.... and this is why i think the game deserves respect to be seen as something Adult Normal, mainly, TAKAHASHI invented a chess tier game and he's just realizing that
Wholesome Jaden and Chazz interactions gives me free serotonin.
I love how Jaden knew Chazz was being sarcastic but feigned ignorance to troll him. Shows he's smarter than he looks.
Gotta love how an Egyptian pharaoh has a British accent lol
Even his accent was stolen by them lol.

😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Together with Yugi he holds the title "King of Games" (King of Duelists in Japanese version), by winning in the Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, Grand Championship and Battle City V2 (in GX anime) tournaments.
After Yugi Muto solved the Millennium Puzzle, Yami Yugi resided in Yugi's body and would take possession of it when Yugi or his friends were in danger. After Yugi became fully aware of Yami's existence, Yugi could voluntarily give control of his body to the Pharaoh; occasionally before one would give control to the other, they would, as souls in the mind of the one controlling Yugi's body, converse with each other, usually about their options of what to do when in difficult situations

This dude really said "hit me up if you're ever in my hood" ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
I love how shamelessly cheesy and sincere this show is, it makes it just beyond parody.
The thing is that the dub version or rather the whole GX series is a parody of duel monster just listen to what they say every episode adds like 5 great quotables. It's based on a premise of a school to learn dueling and at the same time Jaden is an idiot and still reks most people. I love it its just good times all around paired with the fact Jaden gives no F's 99% of the time just makes this a goldmine.
Jaden is a guy who learns on the field. He couldn’t care less about learning by reading/studying in class.

I laughed so hard at the guy that said i love mai valentine 1:50
Yeah the way he said it was soo funny
No offense to Abidos, I know it must've been tough to realize your entire dueling reputation is a lie, a lie that even YOU believed. But I gotta say...I do think it's hilarious that he was dumbfounded at the idea that an opponent would actually attack him. And from that it NEVER occurred to him that ALL his opponents let him win. That he ACTUALLY THOUGHT the way the game was played was that ONLY HE got to attack.
Crazy, right?😅
He's basically Atem if he didn't earn any of his victories (not that he didn't try, of course).
I mean maybe they intentionally had monsters weaker than the ones in his deck
It's like he already has an abriged voice dub xD
Banner’s reaction to the Pharaoh always makes me laugh XD
In the sub there is a scene where both Judai & Abidos become cartoonish versions of themselves trading insults.
That Sarcasm line always gets me every time
dont get me wrong, abidos actually had a good stratigy when he summond out spirit of the pharaoh and using its ability to summon out 4 weak zombies and then using thousand energy giving them all 1900 attack. if he had 3 cards of the same type, used thousand energy then activated delta attacker he would have had an easily 1 hit win right there
Or... mystic mine pass?
@@nightmarepenguin2370 Yeah man that pass is like wow
DUDE THATS A 5 CARD COMBO HOW IS IT NOT TEARING UP LOCALS!!!
To be fair, he strikes me as the kind of guy who tries to get the coolest looking and sounding cards he can get his hands on WITHOUT considering how to actually USE them in the best way he can. It fits his character, actually. XD
That's WAY too many combos to keep up with lmao
Would have been interesting to see abidos become a student in duel academy. He would have made a great side character.
Unfortunately, he's dead.
It would be a good idea his deck can use an upgrade I think adding gravekeepers would be good improvement heck maybe some more Egyptian theme cards maybe a love triangle between him Chazz and Alexis maybe atem would duel him battle of the pharaohs any one
@@glichtvstudio942 Or maybe a deck that makes use of the cards he already has, like a general Zombie deck.

In the beginning, you could never tell that professor Banner was who he really was. But he redeemed himself in the end.
This is one of only two times I can think of where Jaden uses Hero Flash. The other was against Sartorius. It's just funny that he loves using Oversoul all the time, but never the other cards in this combo.
You think that's something, he never successfully resolved Righteous Justice in the entire series.
Still, HERO Flash is a very powerful spell card, in my opinion.
I see your point, however he DOES use H-Heated Heart a lotl. It makes for a good power up spell.
Actually he does use H-Heated Heart in the Japanese verison of the last season. Which wasn't aired in english. (As it takes place after the whole thing with Yubel.) Jaden and Alexis end up in a tag duel tournament that Hassleberry created. As he was have a party thing for the third years vs undergraduates.
@@SashGirl34 Oh yeah, the OTK! Totally slipped my mind.
13:11 In a duel with people's souls on the line, Jaden still finds the time to bro it up.
1:41 with all that tech for dueling and stuff, plus all the popularity of Yugi/Kaiba and they couldn't afford proper photos of them

And some girls too
Man looks like the kinda guy to have Watapon in his deck
Abidos III sounds like a Yugioh Abridged villain.
Also Abidos III had eyes for Jaden, he wanted to do more than just take him home.
So this is a millennia old pharaoh playing with millennia old cards? The power creep really favors Jaden here.
For a Shadow Rider, Abidos doesn't seem like a bad guy.
I agree. He was pretty cool, even though his dueling reputation turned out to be a lie.
An odd chunk of them have just been living their lives with extra steps. Bandits just got what was essentially a contract, Tania became a woman and went husband hunting, accidentally picked a guy with a key
Wait, isn't Atem an almost undefeated pharoh
I think atem story is lost in history. They didn't know his name in the present
Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, not dual monsters.
Well Atem requested that his name be erased from history, as a key to fight Zorc. Pharoah Set/Seto did do this as Atem's name was never mentioned and he was called the Nameless Pharaoh.
Atem > Jaden
Bongoe Videos pretty sure he never lost in the past but he never lost in the present
He let Kaiba win
Rafael was non canon
And he let Yugi won
17:40 "That's gay."
*Get your gay on*
18:17 and that looked like a gay moment.
Matthew Charles was amazing in this episode, I wish he does more voice roles
I honestly want them to make this guy playable in duel links so that he can build on his bromance with Jaden. Granted i also want kaibaman so that we can see if yubel is truly the strongest duel spirit so i just want weird things
I want Dimitri to be playable too, and given lines for an archetype no one's used yet.
I want to see Dartz playable in Duel Links, so we can maybe see an animation of the Seal of Orichalcos.
Abydos defeated. Five down - Nightshroud, Camula, Tania, Don Zaloog and Abydos, just two more to go - Titan and Amnael. Plus, of course, their boss - Kagemaru.

I remember how in the old generation of dueling; the rules were different.
1. You could summon higher monsters without sacrificing.
2. You start out with 2000 lp instead of 4000 lp
3. There were no direct attacks except on the monsters
4. There was no duel disk but rather using a standard mat on a table
I think a lot of that was really just down to the fact that the card game didn't really exist at the time that part of the manga was being written.
That was only in the anime for an extremely brief period of time
It was never ever part of actual Yu-Gi-Oh
@@totalwartimelapses6359 no because i remember when i was in school, me and other students followed the Duelist Kingdom rules. Of course the highest monster at the time was the Blue Eyes.
@@animeknight8958
Yeah in school people played with non official rules
I'm just saying playground rules weren't part of old Yu-Gi-Oh, you can still play with wacky rules and people still do (check out Junior Journey on RUclips) but don't ever think those rules were in the actual official game
@@totalwartimelapses6359 well i still believe in those rules. and the VHS Promo wouldn't lie to the fans
The weakest Shadow Rider by a wide margin.
Imo, they made a mistake having him be dueled this late. I personally think he should have been dueled before Camula, with Zane dueling him instead of Jaden.
@@joseph86255 Honestly, I see why he was dueled so late. Due to the record of being "Undefeated", it was presumed Abidos was a truly powerful duelist. As such, he'd be the proverbial "Trump Card" to play when the situation was really dire. But since the truth was revealed in this episode no less, it explains his mediocre skill: Abidos was never really challenged due to all his opponents deliberately throwing.
To be fair, I'm sure the Shadow Riders weren't aware either. After all, since the Legend existed without any truth, they didn't know either.
Abidos the 3rd:You cant talk to me like that
Random follower: you cant talk to him like that
Me: just happened
Where was he at during the first Yu-Gi-Oh where atem went to his past to find his lost memories
like later on hen atem died he took over
I thought many things watching this but my major ones are: "Where the hell is Yugi when you need him for advice against the Shadows?" and "Has anyone else noticed they messed with the Shadow rules a little bit?"
Another was at the "Farewell" from the Pharaoh I was expecting along the lines of "Toodaloo" with that voice to be honest.
This was not a actual shadow game, if you compare the shadow games Jadens and yugi have been through you can see the differences. Anyway yugi is around but he's not a part of the story much, and it's not his fight, and is basically retired as his deck is in a museum. Yugi shows up in the vary first episode when Jaden is running late, he bumps into yugi and drops his cards if I remember correctly, this is where Jaden gets his winged karibo(Idk the spelling) as yugi gives him the card.
We don't ever see yugi until the vary last episode, where Jaden winged karibo is having Jaden follow him somewhere, this somewhere is to yugi. Jaden sees yugi, yugi says somethings and sends Jaden into the past before yugi sets off on his journey in Season 1 of yugioh. This is where we see yugi in full character and not just some hair and body parts with the face masked. Anyway Jaden and Yugi duel or well Jaden and Atem duel I'm pretty sure, either way yugi wins in the end, and Jaden is sent back to the present. I don't remember what happened between yugi and Jaden here, but Jaden at the end runs off to continue his journey.
And that's how GX actually ended, season 4 was never dubbed for whatever reason. But it's safe to say with how much winged karibo helped Jaden in duels and took him to yugi, as well as being able to do that because it was a spirit yugi gave him, makes me believe while yugi was not around in the dueling scene anymore he was still in his own way looking over Jaden and his journey.
@@strenuousspider9525 ah, now I understand some more, and I watched it a while after looking back at the show and realized it wasn’t a shadow game. But you’re right about the card Yugi gave Jaden and I’ve seen the battle between Yugi and Jaden, awesome battle. Thanks for enlightening me!! 😊
