- Fisker is about to unveil its Ocean electric crossover SUV to the world just ahead of CES 2020, and the company chose Digital Trends as the event’s exclusive streaming platform. You can watch the entire event live in the player above starting at 11:45 a.m. PT on Sunday, January 5, 2020.
We’ll be livestreaming from the unveiling ceremony in sunny Los Angeles, which will be attended by early adopters who have reserved the car.
Pricing will start in the vicinity of $40,000 before federal and local incentives enter the equation, and motorists who want to secure an early build slot can reserve an Ocean by sending the company a $250 deposit. Alternatively, Fisker will launch a lease program when production starts in late 2021 that will cost $379 a month after a $3,000 down payment. Customers will have the option of returning the car after a month, eight months, 22 months, or several years.

Several years ago I was at the Detroit Auto Show admiring the yet to be released Fisker Karma. This guy walks up to me and asked me what I thought about the car, then we started talking about automotive design and what makes a car beautiful. As I walked away I noticed that he didn't walk into the crowd, he got inside of the concept Fisker Karma. Then I saw how people were hovering around him, so I figured he was some big shot manager at that company. After I got back from Detroit, I found out that guy I was talking to was Henrik Fisker. How awesome is that? The designer behind some of the most beautiful sportscars in the world was curious as to what I thought about his latest design. That shows that he is always looking to improve on what he has previously done. So I have no doubt this will be an awesome vehicle.
way more options today in regarding battery designs. should work much better by now.
Cool story. A nice car design is certainly pleasing to the eye but means squat if the engineering doesn't match it.
Except that this car will never exist
cool story
El Turner
That’s quite awesome:)
Karaoke in the car. The Filipino community celebrates endlessly.
30K for all that? Looks amazing honestly
Designer: how much LED lighting?
Fisker: *YES*
Doug demuro Will love this car, lots of quirk and unique feature ...
I wish Fisker the best, startups are super difficult.
David Neuzil Fisker isn’t a new company. They’ve already filed for bankruptcy back in 2014 and all their assets at the time were sold off to a Chinese company. Henrik Fisker got to keep the Fisker brand, so this is round two for him.
David Neuzil this ain't no startup but....
The company has been around for years.
if any ivestor put money in this company it will be the greatest scam ever.
Props to the person who designed that 5 buttons. It nailed the futuristic look.
Having over 500 miles of EPA range on a single charge is amazing! Cannot wait for the Fisker Ocean to come out. 🚗⚡️
Ironic that they call it the Ocean, given that the Ocean destroyed all those Fiskers a while back...
that's why these new fiskers are recycled
& the cars that blew up were called Karma after what he did with Tesla #BoomGoesTheDynamite
Also "Fisker" is Danish for Fisherman, so the car is the "Fisherman Ocean"
@@jd3036 oh that's kinda cool, didn't know that.
More competition the better. We're at a tipping point with electric vehicles.. I think within five years the used electric car industry will be where it's at.
exactly. 99% of people sleep today, and could charge them up over night. 8hours is plenty of time for that.
although, from what I've heard the batteries of electric cars degrade rather quick so a used electric car isn't all that great
@@GadgetsGearCoffee depends on the batter and the thermal management. That's why Nissan's leaf does not las that ling
@@TotallyJoel That's interesting. What should we be looking for when buying a used electric then? Are there certain specs that are clearly indicated that would make a used electric worth it by or not (and will last)?
Definitely.. my next will be electric, without a doubt... .. am I thinking of the environment etc? Hell no, electric cars are gadgets on wheels.. cool as hell
It's only cheap because they spent $0.25 on this presentation and marketing department
Not attending CES 2020 would have been more beneficial than that junk presentation, LOL .. most OEMs and Tier 1 vehicle suppliers attending CES spend over a million dollars on their attendance ... Fisker: $0.25.
Perfect!
Super design, great strategy. I love the recycled interior elements and the philosophy to keep the displays clean and simple, yet a fully digital car. It's about driving and not about watching movies. Please launch in Europe faster. We need such competition here.
Buttons on the steering. Yeah! A HUD. Awesome! You guys listened to the consumer.
A great ethos to this car. Looks good too. Def on my list.
More search on Fisker. Fisker Karma was hybrid car that debuted in 2012 and went bankrupt due to battery recall and failure next year. The spec was "fuel economy at 52 mpg‑US (4.5 L/100 km; 62 mpg‑imp) equivalent (MPG-e) in all-electric mode, and at 20 mpg‑US (12 L/100 km; 24 mpg‑imp) in gasoline-only mode. EPA's official all-electric range is 32 mi (51 km).[3][7] Due to the very small cabin interior volume, the EPA rated the Fisker Karma as a subcompact car.[8]
The first deliveries took place in the U.S. in late July 2011,[9][10][11] and deliveries to retail customers began in November 2011.[7] Pricing in the U.S. started at US$102,000 for the base model (EcoStandard), US$110,000 for the intermediate EcoSport model and US$116,000 for the top model (the "Animal Free" EcoChic).[12] ".. This was when Toyota Prius was selling at less than half the price with better mileage, more seating, better track record and clearly better reliability. Now they want to compete Tesla with this demo? Funded by Oil company to slow Tesla again?
Did I miss the specs on the battery charge time and range? I guess I don't have to worry about it if I go with the lease option. (When it is discharged, I just call them and they come and take it.)
Reading the HUD screen to keep up with my Karaoke, is NOT a feature that I want or think is safe! They should have focused more on traction control systems, active suspension, etc.
An ad for Volvo in the middle of their video. Classic.
THICC just in the right places. Never expected less from Fisker.
Looks like the Range Rover Evoque
i prefer it to the range rover
The car looks good. The presentation is a course on how not to give a coherent product introduction. The details that designers focus on are not necessarily the primary consideration of consumers.
Sounds promising. Hope you'll make it to 2022, financially speaking 🤞
did they just do karaoke in the car? i'm sold!
Designers: Hendrik, where should we place the LED lighting?
Hendrik: ...yes.
After watching this, they should have called it the Echo.
Pretty sure that as car trademarks go, Toyota owns that one. The Toyota Platz was called the Echo in North America for some time -- though it has also been called the Tercel and Paseo prior to that.
I wonder if it will be able to tow a small trailer, with the AWD drivetrain!? That's a key SUV feature for me.
Will you guys and the car be at Fully Charged Live in Austin in a few weeks?
Cool car, but what a terrible presentation.
Jairo Vélez Totally agree. Instead of getting better, it got worse.
At least his presentation skills aren't awkward like that other electric car manufacturer CEO
@@moonwaxing1 Agreed, but at least Elon brings out specs. How is the range not an important thing to mention in the unveiling of a car that takes pre-orders? Beats me.
Amateur bad presentation is the new good presentation. :D
tybee is looking for a gig.
Fisker and Tesla have found a way to crowd source their operations by taking deposits on cars with no real delivery dates. At least when you give money on Kickstarter, it's an upfront proposition. These guys say, "give me a deposit and maybe in two or three years I'll let you buy a car you've never really seen."
This feels like a info commercial
What do you think an unveil is?
@@RonaldMcConico Haha, exactly. What I found interesting was why were they doing a reveal in the first place. The car (not an SUV, a CUV at best) has been seen in public, on youtube by Fisker, for months now. It's not only an infomercial but a manufactured marketing event for vehicle we've already seen.
Is this presented in somebody's garage?
Do they have a rear cam that you can use while driving something like the Cadillac review mirror cam in the review mirror?
I'm very interested in this car and this company. That being said, I have some serious issues with the leasing model and the repairability of the vehicle. I hope they address this before launch.
All the very best. Hope it comes out on time
How much power needed, to charge it at home? Does a home with 2200 W sufficient to charge this car?
It’s incredibly impressive that sustainability is actually considered for the long term life of the vehicle.
I love it. I'll get one if it can ship.
Hopefully a real introduction of important specs at ces! Range, battery size, charging speed options, performance model price & availability ! More interface video, delivery process in the other 49 states ?’
So .... $37,000 but what are we getting for it? What's included in that price? If the Karaoke is the main selling point/option I'm not sure if the car gives any advantage over Tesla model 3 base model that is available today. What are the specs - Range? Autonomous driving features? Updates? performance? What kind of charging support? Service? Warranty? Who provides those batteries & parts. Who will provide the manufacturing facility & expertise and how you will make the price point happen? I have not heard anything that has not been "delivered" by Tesla so I'm not sure why what you are "planning in 2022" makes you the "first" but... I still want to give the "Ocean" some benefit of doubt.
Beautiful car can’t wait to see it in person!!!🤠
Good job fisker well done price is affordable and your actually innovating well done!
Curious as to the range fully charged and how it can be charged. But a great idea and a nice looking SUV.
The lease option for just $379 p/m without a longterm contract/commitment will revolutionary...that is IF they can deliver on that promise!
Oh boy. Another electric SUV/crossover. Yay.
Hard work dedication congrats !!!
“Let’s see if we can get this thing to work...”
Fantastic presentation, informal and personal.
This looks very good. I will consider it as long as it's a 100% American company and not Chinese!!
When is it coming to Switzerland?
Sorry but Karaoke is not a feature I would be most interested in for a debut. Let's talk self driving, etc.
Tesla already have a "Caraoke" ... with audio.
That, and Tesla already has Karoake.
In reality does anyone need a self driving car. Except we have been conditioned to believe they are enviable
Allen Saunders For the average person it probably wouldn’t make much of a difference, but it definitely has potential. People who can’t drive often/at all like the elderly or disabled people would probably benefit greatly from self driving. For the average person it’d just mean you can spend your time in the car doing something else instead of driving
This car and flexible lease with upto 30k miles annually is intriguing to me with my 70 mile/day commute. However the lack of the frunk is a bummer. My wife has a model 3 and the frunk is such a nice thing to have.
A hand on guy and knows what he is taking about. The Ocean will sell.
Gorgeous design.
Thank goodness they've got the sense to create separate indicators. MOst 'modern' trendy cars' indicators are ridiculous with their 'ooh, lets turn off the running lights whilst you indicate'...
Beautiful
Very impressive. I would like have one.
Team up with PowerSource to offer some options..... Love their module in my 2012 vehicle
I'm all in!!!
They need to get rid of the solar panel. It doesn't provide enough energy and makes the car top heavy. This doesn't help the car run efficiently and will help keep the cost down.
Skeptical but interested. Hopefully a lot of lessons were learned from the Karma release.
i would have liked to hear more about the battery technology, voltage systems, battery range between charges, etc...
Volume button: quickly turn the volume up and down.
Thanks didn’t known that
Front end looks a LOT better than the last Fisker.
Love it, planning more calculated and old school. Less risk in my opinion.
It looks really good
Mr. Fisker should bring into his consideration to make 7 seater ones. Especially if he wants to bring this handsome SUV to Southeast Asia.
Wider stance and nice wide tires also mean less range, it does look really good and so many people want to look good, so even the range might not be the best, the price could sell the vehicle...now lets just hope it will come to production and compete
All of that information and he didn't even give any important information...like size/weight, power, range, charging solution, stereo/smart media, basic options (does it even have fold down seats?) .....this was the most useless press conference i have ever seen. Nice car and a huge leap from the Fiskar Karma but seriously....The only thing I know about it is that I can safely eat the interior and maintain a vegan diet.
Jason Wile Felt like a bad dealership vehicle walk around with a new salesman that just got done reading his training manual on the product and couldn’t wait to do his feature, advantage and benefit presentation yet said nothing that really mattered to what most people care about like you mentioned.
Jason, I agree with you. I got nothing from that press release. I was interested in that car because it is the only affordable small SUV, in its class. But the lack of information seems very shady to me. I will be watching to see what they do, but I feel like nothing will materialize with this. I guess I will just have to wait for Tesla to produce an affordable small SUV. SMH
@@virta555 He sounded so dumb. I am sure all the people that put down a deposit is pissed. The whole thing looked crazy.
Standing 4640 mm long, 1930 mm wide and 1615mm high, our all-electric luxury SUV is created for five adults to sit comfortably during even the longest of rides
20-inch wheels come as standard, with a 22-inch option for those who want to make a bolder statement on the road
The 16-inch center touch screen is complimented by a 9.8-inch cluster screen to deliver augmented reality features and immersive digital experiences in-cabin
With 250-300 miles of electric range from the 80kWh battery and the ability to recharge to 80% within 30 minutes, range anxiety is a non-factor
I may have missed the part where he mentioned the range and battery Kwh.
Does anyone know ?
Range and battery kWh are both zero, the car will never exist.
tribalypredisposed Just in you dreams. Tesla looks now like a dumb potato.
Looks to be 300 miles. Damn good for the price.
@@tkt557 Give him your money....... lol
80 kwh battery
Christian von Koenigsegg with a new hair line and dad jokes.
This would be a great investment opportunity
@Logan Snyder I buy shares at $19
Just because Henrik is a bad presenter, doesn't mean that he will run a bad company.
I like where this is going 2020
is it comes with dance stage in 2022?
. An amazing car I hope to get 1 one day
Perfect 💛👏🏻👏🏻
Welcome back
Wow I want one
Cool car👍
SUPER!
@12:50 he says how he envisions it being like a phone, where you can add new hardware features. That's not how phones work. We have to purchase a whole new phone for the latest hardware...
Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Typical sales babble that people need to cut through and unfortunately nearly the entire presentation had very little substance. I get it, it's just a reveal but that begged the question, why? Why have a reveal when it has been already revealed months ago. Again, just another marketing opportunity. Wish them the best. Like others have said, the more EV players out there the better.
I think he meant like a smartphone where you get to add new APPs which expand the functionality of the phone (ie. navigation, health diagnostics, media editing, etc).
@@CSAFMedia Well no, it was in reference to new solar technology and the roof...
@@chuckm260 , all for more EV companies. But Fisker is not an EV company. Any footage of the car actually moving? Nope. This was supposed to be a "production intent" prototype on display here, and it cannot move under its own power? The company has theoretically existed for three and a half years, and cannot make a car that moves faster than I can walk. Which is not surprising given they have no battery packs or motor production capability or ability to control either or those things...because the company is entirely fictional.
@@tribalypredisposed Good points. Not sure I would go as far as saying they are a fictional company but I guess to your point, based on Fisker's history there is no way I'm giving them any reservation money now and contributing to Henrik's retirement fund. ;-/ If they can prove me/you/others wrong, great, I'll take a closer look when they are rolling of the assembly line and have proven to be a reliable vehicle *and* company. However, in the mean time, there is more and more eSUVs entering the market and I'll probably, no, I will own/lease one by the time Fisker's production line is (presumably) running full tilt in 2022. Still, I wish them the best in succeeding because apparently they have convinced people to turn over money *and* wait 2 yrs. So at the very least I hope for those people the company succeeds.
Can you put roof racks on a Fisker Ocean or is the only option to hang my mini mal out the back?
Servicing, parts and repairs for each point of sale - what is the plan for that?
Hadtobe Just use the app lol.
Hopefully, Fisker rounds out its offerings by actually building the eMotion. The eMotion is a worthy successor to the Karma.
Looks good
Yeah.... but it's fake. No assembly plant.
Not. Looks like a shitty gay cuv
Is this car, available in Indian market
Nice looking KIA
*Elon Musk is laughing in his office*
Eye Dupppz can't you guys get off Musk's nuts for a second and enjoy the car ?? The interior is clearly a lot better than Tesla's ever was.
@@DeusEx.Machina I'm an all-around EV enthusiast (not just a Tesla fanboy), but clearly Tesla's interior is more modern/minimalist/refined than this. There's no "identity" here.
@@Megaphonix The Tesla interior has more plastic than actual ocean in it and looks cheap and nasty.
Tesla won't be laughing if Fisker is able to execute this business plan and delivery an 'industry first' EV mobility solution with a starting price of $379/month including maintenance and all upgrades.
Youssef Hegazy Musk’s nuts and i are on a ride to die bases 😜
Insurance on that lease included? that would be dope
It's a Fisker. So support for the car will disappear within first 6 months and it will end production. Just ask any previous Fisker owner.
I not the same company.
@@redvivid Same owner. He had multiple companies already. All of his previous cars failed miserably
Is this presentation in Fisker's living room?
FISKER/SPAQ🔥🔥
I'd buy the 0-60 2.9 second model to add to the collection
Look, half of the staff of Fisker can fit in the car at the same time!
tribalypredisposed good one 👍🏻 😂
I was thinking of buying the new bronco sport for 30k but after seeing this fisker oceon I think am going to wait for it hopefully it's going to be true on the price 29k.
Only lease? No comfortable for ur car to sell?
i will buy one
The Fisker-Cars is a trully Tesla-Rival as the mortal electric~vehicle's competitor forever ; Not for the another same-start'up companies like The Ellco,A Byton or The Faraday + The Rimac because this is a go~green vehicle pioner in the world with an clean-energy !
Good looking car and surely will give other EVs a run....
Come on guys stop being so critical
The looks are great
Interiors are super cool
Price is awesome
Well said
You got me with the side by side cup holders thank you. The glue on screens is a trend hopefully will go away, dashboards are much better looking with the screens built in.
I totally agree.
