- Pizza is the ultimate blank canvas for culinary innovation. In this episode of Pizza Wars, host Nicole Russell faces off against Mythical Chef Josh to see who can create the ultimate “mashup pie.” At Mythical Kitchen, Josh has perfected the art of fast-food fusion, but will his Doritos Locos Taco Pizza be enough to take down Nicole’s Jamaican beef patty-inspired pie? The choice is up to this week’s judges: Complex’s Speedy Morman and chef Jae Lee of Nowon in NYC.

And it wasn't a blind taste, they had to explain their pizza. Other episodes they don't know who made which pie.
@@RJ_Cormac the blind taste test is a new thing for season 2. For all of season 1 they presented their pizzas to the judges.
They need to keep bringing josh in! He’s always so creative and entertaining
One of the great things about this show is that the losers don't feel like losers. Everyone appreciates everybody else's work and there's genuine love for the craft.

@Ekquizit Sounds haha it's a sweet type of bread that people in Jamaica and other islands use. I dont think there's actual coconut in it, but rather it's made with coconut milk. It's pretty good with the beef patty.

After seeing the intro and the kind of mean criticism about the look of Josh’s pizza.... gotta say I was surprised about the comments after that, thought they were just gonna be super mean with the judging... but thankfully it was a lot more fair than that! Phew.... was a thing anxious and getting protective of mythical chef Josh 🤣

It is also possible to be honest without having to say “I hate the way it looks” and “looks horrendous” followed by making more disapproving facial expressions. You can say it’s a pizza that looks like it has too much happening at once or it looks chaotic or that the toppings look awkward on the pizza or it doesn’t really look like what I envision a pizza looking like or that it’s unusual or just say what exactly about it makes the pizza look bad to you because just saying it’s horrendous doesn’t tell you much.

This show is so wholesome and enjoyable, it never feels like a competition, rather two friends sharing recipes and being good to each other. It’s been a pleasure to watch this series so far.

New York judges. Josh made Taco Bell pizza. Nicole made a NY style hamburger pizza (granted, Jamaican seasoning). It almost wasn't a fair fight or even comparison for the theme. It's like... here's a unique style to fit the theme vs here's a regular pizza seasoned slightly different in a style the judges prefer. The fact Josh almost won says a lot, I think.
hers wasn't a regular pizza though, that dough was nowhere close to a normal pizza dough, it was more like a modified pastry dough. I highly doubt she won on bias, especially since one of the judges was like josh and grew up on taco bell

Best episode so far!! I am biased as it had Mythical Chef Josh. While I’m sad Josh didn’t win, I’m happy he gave me a new recipe! As someone who has cooked/baked for 30 years, Josh taught me how to expand it and make it better. Experiment more. I was always hesitant and didn’t trust me. Josh helped me trust me. Nicole, can’t leave you out. Every pizza you’ve made, I’ve made notes so I can make it myself!! Love this show!!…bring Josh back for a rematch

It’s tough. I think the Taco Bell one is a tiny bit more creative but taste wise, the beef patty one would’ve probably win it for me. I think they need to get less biased judges though.

Growing up as a kid with my dad's side being Trinidadian, I can say emphatically, this Jamaican Beef Patty pizza would prolly be one of the greatest things you have ever had, no cap, they really are THAT good!!!...

Yay Josh is here! Nicole does amazing work, but every challenger that comes on seems to be forced to only make what they are known for, and are locked into only that. It doesn't seem like a true competition
