I'm amazed with the detailed effort you go into in producing these videos. Even though I'm not a subscriber, nor am I a disciplined enough person to spend the time and effort to practice all of this stuff, I can certainly see the value in it, especially for somebody who's just starting, or wants to become a serious musician. Great stuff!
I suggest a new set of mind-breaking names for this family of rudiments: 1. Paradiddle - RLRR LRLL 2. Radiddlepa - RLLR LRRL 3. Diddlepara - RRLR LLRL 4. Dleparadid - RLRL LRLR
I love how you build on the most basic rudiments and open up a whole new world of possibilities on the drumset that I never even thought about! Amazing lesson!
wow that's just amazing paradiddles which should be called selddidarap hehe. Awesome playing too by Jared really that will boggle the mind at first. i can only play the inversions each at a time for now yet doing all the permutation of the paradidille in a long phrase will truly sound or challenge the player even further.
It is very interesting! But why do you change the hand patterns ? It's ok to me what you do and I understand it. Sometimes I I've expected that you would start with the left hand.
Those Yamaha's sound good, but where is you adorable DW kit!?!?!?!?! By the way, i've missed some vids, you use g2 on top of your toms, and what kind of drumhead you use for reso?
Shouldn't the second inversion start on the left hand if you are moving everything over one sixteenth? I know that would equate to a triple on the left hand at the end of the measure which is more difficult... what do you all think?
now people might understand why Ringo was a Natural . A Genius . i doubt he new didlee squat about Paradidles and yet he used them without being conscious of them + he was left handed playing a drum set that was inverted . he explained this many times when asked what made his drumming so unique . a kind and humble man is he . 🥁❤
there is a unconscious bias against lefty's . you are a the universal minority because only 10 percent of all humans are born left handed . have you ever noticed that in the english language the word right is used incorrectly to mean truthful or correct and even to mean factual. . if i said something most people would agree with most people would respond " i think your right . no one says " i think your left . if i said that to someone they might feel insulted and say " i'm not a communist , i'm not a leftist " . this is what you are up against being left handed. don't let this fact depress you because in sports and music even boxing and many other professions lefty's are winners and celebrated. to sum up my rant ... Left handed people are beautiful and matter . P.S. just for the record i'm right handed . 🤷🏻♂️ but i'm not correct sometimes 🙄
Ive always wanted to be a regular legit student on drumeo. I have the money, but its the payment methods im having trouble with. Im from SEA, 21 years old but I dont have any credit cards or the guts to ask my parents or anyone i know who have a card. Maybe when things settle down and after we get a fibr connection il be looking forward to be a legit student.
Korsfestelse Yeah...the problem with me is I just can't figure that double-stroke roll out. I mean,It's like you're doing exercises for double-stroke roll all the time and you're slowly thinking to your self there is no any progression..
Trying throwing the stick down with your wrist for the first stroke and while u cone down open your fingers a lil and then for the second stroke pull the stick up with your fingers aggressively. My teacher who has some of the best double strokes I've ever seen uses it and taught it to me. It's helped me out.
But double stroke rolls in my experience were harder than paradidles. Probably because of the fact that in a paradidle the doubles are broken up with singles between them and in a double stroke roll they're not broken up at all.

This has been the best educational paradiddle lesson I have ever watched
+Noah Macdonald Same
agree
Then you might like the Matt Garstka paradiddle challenge
You can find these permutation studies in the Garibaldi's Future Sounds book.

❤I love it this couldn't have been explained no better than that ur the teacher of teachers thanks very much "I'm going straight to practice"😊😊😊😅
I was taught to call these the Paradiddle, Inward Paradiddle, Reverse Paradiddle and Outward Paradiddle. Very cool to play these around the kit
Yes that's right, me too
Same
I’ve been working on this for some time and your explanation is perfect. Making paradiddles musical is difficult for me.
Loving the free lessons :D

1:43 : Iddleparad
2:25 : Rapaddledi
2:55 : Apaddledir
Thank you Jared!!
also, you can throw in double and triple paradiddles to make some monster grooves.
Si alguien que sepa ingles-español ve esto, que programa utilizas para poner las notas y junto con el metrónomo también?
The actual paradiddle is RLRR or LRLL....Not RLRRLRLL
Great video and explanation!
Very good stuff!
Will you ever come into a situation where you will need to use your forehead as a drum stick in order to complete a solo or groove?
It is very interesting!
But why do you change the hand patterns ?
It's ok to me what you do and I understand it. Sometimes I I've expected that you would start with the left hand.
Cus it's makes you a better player and your mind to new possibilities
thank you sir..

Hi there....i am a left hander and its pretty dominant. How can i make rhythms like these suitable for me? Pls help.
Turn sticking other direction. I am right handed and practice these both left and right handed. Now to make them musical, that is the journey.
there is a unconscious bias against lefty's . you are a the universal minority because only 10 percent of all humans are born left handed . have you ever noticed that in the english language the word right is used incorrectly to mean truthful or correct and even to mean factual. . if i said something most people would agree with most people would respond " i think your right . no one says " i think your left . if i said that to someone they might feel insulted and say " i'm not a communist , i'm not a leftist " . this is what you are up against being left handed. don't let this fact depress you because in sports and music even boxing and many other professions lefty's are winners and celebrated. to sum up my rant ... P.S. just for the record i'm right handed . 🤷🏻♂️ but i'm not correct sometimes 🙄
Hi, I want to learn how to play drum please I want you help me please please.
How would i play this if I'm an open handed drummer?
Ive always wanted to be a regular legit student on drumeo. I have the money, but its the payment methods im having trouble with. Im from SEA, 21 years old but I dont have any credit cards or the guts to ask my parents or anyone i know who have a card.

woah cooooolllll
YESSSSSSSS 🥁👍
heres my problem I cant follow for I am left handed and convert r l to read the sheet.
John Heine-Parisi so you play the drums open handed or cross handed?
But you can't do the exercise like these if you don't know double stroke roll..or can you?
Well it's assumed that if you've learned a paradiddle you've previously learned the double-stroke roll.
Korsfestelse Yeah...the problem with me is I just can't figure that double-stroke roll out. I mean,It's like you're doing exercises for double-stroke roll all the time and you're slowly thinking to your self there is no any progression..
RentaLegend key to double stroke roll or pretty much any rudiment is finger technique.
Trying throwing the stick down with your wrist for the first stroke and while u cone down open your fingers a lil and then for the second stroke pull the stick up with your fingers aggressively. My teacher who has some of the best double strokes I've ever seen uses it and taught it to me. It's helped me out.

This is really just a paradiddle but you start on the first diddle

Am i the only one ho set the Playback speed to 0.5 to learn the hole sequance?
Woah there.
Professor paradiddle
Hindi me nhi Bataa sakte ho kya
Actually, a paradiddle is RLRR or LRLL.....Not RLRR LRLL...That is 2 paradiddles:)
I practiced it over and over. What is the point of playing this boring exercise? How do you apply this to music? What is a ghost note?
First
your parents must be proud
too robotic. rudiments suck
No they don't they help build up your playing ability if you play rudiments you're being very close minded
