Happy New Year Ken and the crew. I enjoy everyone of your videos. I got a feeling that retirement is nearing. I hope when it happens that Chad continues on. That would be PERFECT.
Happy New year Ken! I was watching a FailArmy RUclips video called " Buildings gone wrong!" There's three seconds of you when a truss flipped and knocked over your ladder. You're famous!!!!!!
Thank you for condensing these videos! I recently found you through Al & Gina and love seeing what you did last year! I will be watching going forward! Happy New Year to all of you!
Ken, appreciate the time traveler video. From start to finish in a short trip. Blessings for 2024. Stay safe, healthy, strong, wise and successful in His Holy Name bro. Have a great year. ☝️🙏🙌🇺🇸❤️💪
Great team work 🎉❤. Question??? How do you repair Hardy Siding when it is popping apart?? Where the seems meet it is coming apart in different areas. Is it repairable???
I love these "movie' editions of your 2023 builds (Yes, my popcorn was ready haha) . Your system is so productive and the teamwork is inspirational. Are those removable truss-spacing clips you can use over and over on the trusses? I really like how you stop occasionally and provide tips, for example on the 5' sheet to start the roof. Happy New Year ... and thank you for what you do. God bless
Nice garage! Wondering why you use pkywood under the metal roofing? I'm thinking it's to minimize the sweating of the metal roof. Around here, it's usually 1x4 strapping.
really nice. Are the garages ventilated, how do you prevent condensation from forming on the underside of the roof on the ply inside in cooler weather? thanks
Love your videos Ken. I’ve seen in a couple of your videos like this one that you have a combined 5:12 and 12:12 pitched roof. Is there a reason for this or is it to just give a different look?
Hi Ken. I am from Pittsburgh, pa and was looking to build a 24x30 garage. My question is there any disadvantages building on a concrete slab with it lifting in the freezing winters we have in pittsburgh? And how many inches of gravel do you put under your concrete and do you make any relief cuts after it is poured? Thank you Ken
First of all, hello and nice job. I'm planning in building a workshop and i am curious how tall is the slab and how much concrete did it took to make it? Thanks. 😊
why no ice and water sheild? Also what kinda plywood did you use on the roof and why did you choose it. gonna be building my own garage next year and im totally confused about what to use (e.g., advantech, zip, osb, regular plywood 🤯).
@ you never have issues with them shifting at all? I’m over here in Illinois and it’s common practice to put a fastener in each panel but it is always nice to find ways to save time on installs if the shortcut is equally effective. Also, really appreciate your videos and have been watching your channel a lot lately. I’m going to be doing my first garage build from the ground up since I’ve started my own business and studying your builds has helped me come up with a game plan and give my laborer a study guide beforehand.
@@suemckee1598 yes good point Sue, (an open barn style shelter would probably be a lot more appropriate for large agricultural vehicles) However the opposite is true here (in the U.K.) as most garages are integral to the house and in modern houses they also have a door that opens into the kitchen. I guess different countries have different regulations in that respect.
Wow! 400 slabs. By my calculations if we averaged every garage at 576 sq' it would mean you have covered 230,400 sq' of Gods creation with concrete and sometimes plastic.
Beautiful garage, I wish you all could build us one in North Carolina. God Bless you dear brother.
Bummer thanks

Great job. Are you able to disclose how much of that $28k went towards materials versus labour? Like rough percentages? Thanks.
Roughly half
@@kenskarpentryThank you. Handy to know for someone considering doing a similar building themselves. Happy new year to you!

The conduit feed for the sub pannel looks grate, did it give much trouble?
No. I didn’t do it.
Happy New Year everyone 🎉

It does help with condensation it’s also much easier to move around on the roof and if they decide to shingle they have that option
really nice. Are the garages ventilated, how do you prevent condensation from forming on the underside of the roof on the ply inside in cooler weather? thanks
Thanks. The entire ridge is vented as well as the soffits
I would put blocking between the rafters.

Those are a gambrel design

I’m not familiar with your soil out there. I wouldn’t dare make a recommendation
I never see any permits, or inspections?
Nope
Like your T-shirt "Perfect"
Thanks
Love your videos! So how many days did it take from framing to finish for you three?
We were less than 2 weeks
First of all, hello and nice job. I'm planning in building a workshop and i am curious how tall is the slab and how much concrete did it took to make it? Thanks. 😊
6” thick about 12 cubic yards
@@kenskarpentry thank you very much for the information sir
Does that price include the concrete being supplied and all materials and labour?
Yes
Happy New Year Ken and to Your crew
Thanks Same to you!
Great videos, question- no footer ?
No well drained earth won’t crack concrete
Thank you. I knew you had built hundreds of these, very interesting.
Thank you for sharing.

We don’t use it under metal roofing typically
Where are you guys building at? Are you only able to build with no footer because of a low/non existent snow load where you are located?
Well drained soil prevents concrete movement
There appears to be some low areas in this slab
Where did you buy the black roof
Local lumberyard
Do you nail the soffit at all?
Periodically

Hi Ken, do most of your customers put insulation in and board up the interior? Do you recommend it or are there reasons not too?
Most are unfinished inside
Since they are for storing vehicles that put out noxious gasses when they drive them in and out, insulating wouldn't be very appropriate.

About a week and a half
