    What I appreciate about you most is that you tell people how much this costs. So many people make excuses for why they can't discuss pricing. Most people on RUclips are merely looking for a rough estimate of what something costs to plan for their own projects so this, sir, is truly appreciated!

      @@kenskarpentry So you r cost is $115,000? Or thats the cost to the home owners? If the $115,000 is your cost how much would the home owners be paying? How much do you make on a job like that? Thanks

      115000 is just for the framing

    • @scientist100
      @scientist100 Год назад +1

      You can do costing pretty easy by calculating material and then checking stores. Contractors get a discount to make money but you get a rough estimate that way. This project got expensive because of the concrete slab.

    The design of those windows really frame that view. Really stunning! As others have mentioned before, it would be so great to see how the homeowners finish these projects out. Even if it was in a separate video where you did highlights of that particular build from previous videos and then had the owners send a few photos that you could add at the end as sort of a slideshow. They could actually work well as RUclips shorts. Thanks as always.

    Ken loved how you condensed the original videos. I saw the originals and loved them. I can't get over how you still get on that ladder at your age. You are fearless, and it was nice of you to help them with the windows. Also all the positive comments from you on the other contractor's workmanship. I would love to watch you do a foundation and have me help to learn. I probably get in your way. The good news I am not too far away from you. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. That is a brilliant video showing a house build from start to finish. I bet the spray foam has made the structure so much more solid, although I have heard it can become a bad problem if there are roof leaks and the rafters rot without anyone knowing about it.
    I envy the people who live in that house, hope there is fish in the lake, can fish from the porch!

    When we raise gables, we put a 2x4 near the peak with one nail so it rotates. If the gable was12 feel tall, I’d make that 2x4 about 3 feet shorter and you can easily adjust for plumb and it’s a fail safe to make sure the wall doesn’t get away. Nice work.
