Great total review as usual. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much Trevor! -Paul
Wow! Impressive scooter for the price and weight class, and that range! Brilliant review as always!
Thank you so much! -Paul
Nice to have options for ecological ball sack.
This looks like the best one thanks for the video
Great video! I've been wondering about this scooter and comparing it with the KQi3 MAX. I hope you review that one soon too!
Thanks Matt! -Paul
excellent and comprehensive review!
Thank you Nikos! -Paul
Excellent review! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
i’ve been riding the Neon ES20 for a week now and am loving it, might need to pick up the Pro model soon. hopefully it’s on sale this black friday
Yes, it will be on sale soon!
Hi there love your work that you do for the scooter community. You guys are the best. Have you seen the new Pure advance Flex scooter made in Europe. Maybe come here to try it. Will be releases I think in 2023 May. I belive it is the first fully folding escooter. Honestly amazed with how far they have taken the technology also with BO and Taur very innovative.
Thanks for the kind words! We will take a look. Stay Safe. -Vosk
I’m sold!!! There’s a great sale on this scooter right now
Awesome! Enjoy your new scooter. -Vosk
I love on a steep hill, and many scooters over-promise on their advertisements. Thanks so much for this
Our pleasure!
I’m looking for comparisons between Ninebot G30 Max, NIU KQi3, and Okai Neon Pro for school commuting mainly. I’m wondering to whether which one should I pick since they are all on sale at similar price on this Black Friday deal. Pleas help
We would go for the Niu! -Vosk
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you so much! It's been a while since this has happened! We appreciate your support! -Paul
Hello, I just picked one of these up after seeing this review and I had a question I can’t find the answer to in the manual. When it’s in mode E, the headlight and tail lights constantly blink. I can’t keep them on solid like in mode L and mode H. I’m just wondering if you could check yours to see if it’s the same way or if I have an issue. Thank you for the great content.
We don’t have this issue! Please contact the dealer for assistance! -Vosk
Hey Paul, I figured out what I saw in Brooklyn, it was a dirtsurfer. I saw one on the grin technologies channel. 🎉
Wow! Never heard of it. I just did a search and it's pretty crazy looking! -Paul
I have been looking all over for the Okai Bluetooth helmet you mentioned and can't find it? got a link? Thanks!
In the description!
Where can i get tire replacements or compatible tires of the Neon Pro ES30 okai scooter? In Puerto Rico?
Currently my scooter is what i use to go and return from work and i really need it back in action
Try to email costumer support and they might assist you with a dealer to contact
Hey we bought a es20 Okai but one of them the speedometer is off by 10 miles. The other one the goose neck would try to fold while going on high speed. What’s your recommendation
Contact CS for a resolution!
I swear that white one deck eas bending when you were showing that it's more stable lol
What kind of tires does It come with? I need pneumatic or tubules.
Check the link in description will be stated there!
Any chance you guys could review the Kukirin G2 max?
We will take a look! Thank You. -Vosk
How to factory reset I am trying to connect Bluetooth with app but I can't and error show socket are bound. How to un bound or fix this issue I have same scooter okai es30
Please check the manual as we don’t have ours.
Is there a reason why performance scooters such as wolf warriors for example don't use this kind of thing throttle instead of the one with the dead zone?
The only reason I can think of is the up-down thumb throttles can be susceptible to bump-throttle. Hit a big bump in the road; scooter goes up, throttle goes down automatically. I’ve felt this on a couple faster scooters which use a radial throttle like the ones use here and on the Ninebot MAX. The lower power scooters don’t react very hard when the throttle moves unintentionally. -Paul
You need to compare this type to the Xiaomis in my opinion, the helmet is what was interesting to me as the iron-Air pro max airflow doesn t have one yet and for stealing theft deterring there is none since you can even just pick up a bicycle and leave with it...
Thanks for the comment Ash. We've missed you! -Paul
@RiderGuide about how far does this scooter go just in economy mode?
This is the 700w 50miles range right
niu kqi3max the gotraxg6 or the oakai neon pro what would you suggest. i also notice a lot of the scooter footage looks like its in SF. bay area represent!
Gotrax for the win! You can use code RIDERGUIDE50 for $50 off
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide i ended up going with the neon pro. happy so far just worried about my front tire very low!!!
Random question but for a heavier person; do you recommend a seated scooter or would something like this be more comfortable for them?
Standing is better in my opinion!
-Vosk
I love mine, everybody should have one, if only for recreation.
For sure! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
Does it have cruise control
My fuse blew and I don't see an extra one in the box. Anyone know how I get a new one or why the fuse blew anyway?
Contact Okai! They can assist you. -Vosk
Is the OKAI Bluetooth helmet marketed yet? Couldn't find it. Does anyone know where and when it will be available?
We have not seen one yet! -Vosk
Is this one better than the anyhill um-2? Just saw another video on it
I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different. The Neon Pro has more range, but the UM-2 has swappable batteries, so you can extend the range that way. The UM-2 is easier to ride one handed, but the display isn't very easy to read in sunlight. Both are great scooters. Both are a little heavy. If you don't need all the range and want a smoother ride, the base model Neon is super smooth and lighter, aside from being less expensive. But the base model it isn't as fast. -Paul
You can compare all of the specs side by side with our database at electric-scooter.guide -Paul
New subscriber as I’m in the market for a scooter to do delivery with. What caught my attention was its 50 miles range but per your testing it’s almost half of that 😢. Not sure if it’s worth the try or not
Our range test is pretty tough and we typically get about half of the specified range for most scooters. One of the best things to use as a gauge is how many Watt hours the battery has. The Neon Pro has has the most Wh in its class. For a scooter that covers ~50 real-world miles, you'd need to spend quite a bit more and pick up an EMOVE Cruiser. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thank you Paul. Yeah, I had Emov in my list but its price tag is hard to swallow
I’m literally bout to finance one rn if this video is good
Does this scooter have steering wobble? Thanks
Our test unit has no issues!
7:50 does anyone know how to add your iphone's NFC to unlock the bike?
They usually just stick the nfc card under the phones case! Seems to work. -Vosk
can you review about Xiaomi electric scooter pro 4 and how to buy
We will take a look thanks! -Vosk
I’m a bit confused on to how the Okai is a faster climber then the Apollo when the Apollo is 8 pounds lighter and has a 500 watt motor unlike the 350 watt motor in the Okai. Is it the software?
Could be software/controller. -Vosk
Does anyone have the link to the OKAI smart helmet?
Try their website!
Can you check out the wolfmac h5 it's 300£ and looks very good
Hi Quacker,
Thanks for the suggestion. Every single comments section, it seems like we learn of a new scooter! We're always listening and the more we hear about any given scooter and brand, the more likely we'll review one. At first glance that appears to be a model not sold in the US, but we'll keep an eye out. -Paul
so is your range testing at full throttle in sport mode the entire time? need more specifics.
Yes
Hi I just bought the Neon Pro. Where can I buy the OKAI smart helmet and how much does it cost?
Check the Okai website! -Vosk
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide it's not there
Nice detailed review.
Yr have to ask. . Nornaly run stop signs?
Hi Ron,
We have spotters keeping an eye on traffic when we're filming. We edit out stop sign running when we can, but sometimes the perfect place to demo carving a corner has a stop sign in the middle of it.Paul
Not sure to buy this one or NiU KQI 3?
We would go for the NIU! -Vosk
So would you rather have this or the nine bot?
The new NineBot Max G2 should be better then both. -Vosk
Will you be reviewing the kqi3 max?
It's done. Releasing very soon! -Paul
Review the hover 1 alpha pro and that will destroy all these scooters for the price.
Hmmmm. The Alpha Pro's price is low, but the range spec for that scooter is 12 miles, and top speed is lower. What is the scooter's super power? -Paul
I have had my Nui Max for a week now. It is so much smoother than my previous ninebox max. Faster too. I am in love lol
@@lexg1455 Its range is almost half the advertised range though. How much real world range have u got from urs?
My first e-scooter and I can't balance and stay on at low speed. Any advice?
Start slow and practice with safety gear! -Vosk
you have to have confidence in your balance and lots of practice.
Was very happy to have this scooter until I realized how hard it is to find a phone mount that is compatible. Can’t ride to places and not know where I’m going
Should be many options on Amazon!
Put it on the front of ur scooter not the handle bars
I bouhht mine it says in description of product 32 kmh but in reality it goes 25
Do you like the scooter ?
Can you ride this scooter in the rain well? Is the ip rating good enough and will rain riding be ok with it being front wheel drive
very light rain should be okay!
I like it
Thanks for watching! -Vosk
Will you be reviewing the Okai ES30?
Possibly in the future! -Vosk
Why is the audio in all of your videos so quiet?
The music or the actual talking ?
Please review the bird flex.
We will take a look thank you! -Vosk
I’m 130 an I’m on dis rn an itw amazing
Serious issues with the cheap braking system on this. Breaks failed twice. Range catches everyones attention on this one but the system is defective. Used it for a month now
Thanks for the feedback! Noted.
Guy: you can lock the scooter with the app, the tag, or the insert
Me ready to lift a whole 46 pounds
whare are you guyes located? cuz i know whare the bart train is.
We're in Berkeley, CA but moving to Oakland very soon. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide is it like a store. and will you still test the scooters on the greenway?
Hi Gamerboytaza,
It's not a store. We just test the scooters and review them. -Paul
I heard the app is not very good is that true
All scooter apps are mediocre!
In lieu of the fuse that has to be pried out . . . perhaps they can have a fuse with a small grab ring or grab handle so it can be more easily removed and then also provide a fuse socket cover that can be pivoted laterally and possible spring loaded (although just a thumb pivot cover would suffice).
Insightful! Thanks for sharing. -Vosk
Doesn't the Emove Cruiser have the best range though?
That a big jump in price tho...genius
True, it goes even farther and faster, but much more expensive. -Paul
Also super heavy - Chase
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide not sure i would say 52 lbs is heavy for a scooter
I’m 260 and I’m just waiting for a scooter that can handle my weight with good suspension and range with speed and some off road capabilities. This ain’t a scooter for me 😢
Hi Scotty Scott,
Ramier made a good video on dual-motor scooters for heavier riders (below). For single motor, the EMOVE Touring and ANYHILL UM-2 are both good choices. Both have max rider weights of over 300 lbs. -Paul
ruclips.net/video/fWT_lPSnES0/видео.html
Here's an older video. We need to update this one, but a couple of the scooters will still be the same! -Paul

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Ill check it now now , thanks again 🤩
Riding through a stop-sign at 5:00 without even slowing down is one of the things that gives cyclists and scooterists a bad name; naughty 🙂
Yes safety is very important!
I’m sure whoever was filming him checked to make sure the way was clear first
This guy drank the Davos kool-aid for sure. ESG scores touted as a good thing.
👀
pretty sketch how you reduced max range of Ninebot Max range for this review
Our range is real world tested range!
Guys?! Where is your KQI3 MAX review?
Again you put the PRO before the MAX why?
We don’t control what they send us! We should have the review shortly. -Vosk
The MAX review is being released any day now. We made the Okai video prior to fully testing the KQi3 MAX, it just got released in a different order.
We did cover the KQI3 MAX in this video though

I just bought this one online from Best Buy during the summer promotion (Canada). Upon reading the reviews, one thing that really stands out about this scooter is the TIRE REPLACEMENT, there is none online and from Okai, does anyone know how to purchase a replacement tire for this scooter? Otherwise, I will return it.
Thank you!
Hopefully you will get your tire! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
It’s not on the website, but you can get to purchase one by contacting their email address
@@nelsoneduardoherrerasalgad3892 Thank you, I will, I put slime in both tire, hopefully I won't get any puncture, but I will need to contact them once the tires are worn out.
I see you wear gloves in some video, but why not knee pads? Thanks
For faster scooters I wear them!
Bought one, charge it, let my daughter ride it, after 15mins, died on her. Returned it back by noon. jeez
How long did you charge it for initially ?
Full till it reached 100%. bad product/brand.
It's disappointing. A pro version should be rwd and have proper suspension.
What's your favorite commuter scooter? -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I've only ridden the Ninebot Max. I like it because even though it's sold with a speed limit, it can be changed via bluetooth and reset after restarting the scooter. Useful in countries with low speed limits.
I feel like Okai have pushed the boundaries with the Neon Pro, I like the larger battery, but it's a basket of compromises.
this scooter is meant for riding on the street/ side walk... Going over little bumps and cracks will not effect your ride experience. Its solid for its price offering great safety and great range. Its a very attractive option for many people. Its kinda like the Iphone of electric scooters. Simple yet efficient
🤌🏾
Still better NIU kQi3 max
just curious why you think so? im planning go get one tomorrow and my top choices are the niu kqi3max the gotraxg6 or the oakai neon pro
4:41 wtf that's a weird design choice. why would they do that. easy target for vandals, imagine if rental scooters had the same plug!
Vandals aren't going to figure out this is there. It's way down low and not something that you would think was removable at first glance. It also requires a small tool to remove. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide It's still really weird, if they want to disconnect the battery, just make it removable.
But I DON'T CARE about "saving the planet".
"The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas".
George Carlin
Not a requirement! Just a bonus! -Paul
Terrible quality, it never worked correctly, as of today it is completely dead, pass it on to avoid problems or your purchase will become a nightmare
Thanks for the feedback!
Hold everything, not so fast. As a current owner & user of an Okai ES30 scooter I need to get the word out that these scooters have defective braking systems that are very dangerous. I am currently in rehab after spending 3 weeks in the hospital from an accident that I had while riding my Okai schooler to work. While on my way down Riverside Drive on November 27th I experienced total brake failure while approaching an intersection where the light was against me. I ended up being run over by an SUV and nearly killed because I could not stop my scooter. As a result of this accident I endured a shattered right femur, broken bones on my left foot & left hand, fractures in C2 and a fractured skull. And the so-called electronic braking system that the scooter is supposed to be equipped with did not help me at all: The braking system did not engage. Basically all you have on this scooter is the one manual break on the left side of the handlebar. If that break fails God help you. And furthermore, if you need service on this scooter, you're on your own. OKai has no service centers present here in the United States, so when it comes to honoring their warranties they have nowhere to send you. To all of you who are in the market for a scooter in considering buying an Okai, I strongly recommend that you think twice.
Thanks for the feedback!
Literally the same reason why this should be banned. Literally the brakes don't work at all. Brakes failed while my way down towards a red light. Thank God I wasn't hit but I returned the thing the next very day
You're very welcome, it's my pleasure to share. I just think we need to get the word out there to unsuspecting customers that may not be aware of the dangerous equipment, as well as the lack of support, that the scooter companies are pushing solely for the buck that they can get from us. What's even worse now is that I'm having trouble getting legal representation for my claim against this driver as well as the scooter company because it becomes unclear whether it's a product liability lawsuit or an injury lawsuit. We are now at January 22nd today And I have yet to secure legal representation for my claims and my injuries and I'm about to be released from the rehab that has taught me how to walk again.
I LOVE SCOOTERS BUT YOU ARE NOT SAVING THE PLANET THAT IS A DELUSIONAL POSITION
How so Joshua? -Paul
You can at least agree that it’s less taxing on the environment to produce an electric scooter compared to a car, right? If enough people make the switch and slow down car production, we may be able to reduce carbon emissions per capita by a significant amount. We may not be “saving the environment”, but we’re slowly reducing our negative impact.
Right. For most people a scooter is a toy. Nice but not necessary.
For college students who forgo a car and people living in South East Asia (for example) who have scooter embedded in their culture it might be true.
I replace several car miles of my commute each day with scooter miles. As soon as I get off the freeway, I park my car and finish my commute by electric scooter. Surface-street miles are the dirtiest miles too. -Paul
@@jonahkulick6337 Research overwhelmingly shows that e scooters mostly replace trips that are walking distance. Walking is a lot more green since it doesn't require manufacturing components like the battery, that will be e waste one day.
Also, rental scooters specifically have a life of about 6 months. After which they become e waste. There isn't hard stats for personal ones right now, but I don't think cheapo scooters like Gotrax ones will last 5 years.
