Jones utilizes ‘The Way’, found in The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi.
His kick combos are a perfect example- how one kick shifts his stance which sets up the next kick. He’s also extremely well rounded and doesn’t focus on only one aspect of fighting.

Jon himself from his first UFC fight with Gusmao to his LH title fight with Shogun evolved before our eyes, from Shogun to DC he evolved again, and after his fight with Ciryl Jon has evolved into his final form, why are we surprised he finished Ciryl in 2 minutes? He's the final boss of combat sports. The greatest talent the sport has ever seen.

Obviously, I'm very late in discovering this video, but this really is a masterpiece of a breakdown. I can't believe I've not seen this before now! I get so tired of hearing all the B.S. from people talking bad about Jonny Bones these days. I've been a Jones fan since 2008-2009 and will remain so. I'll just have to remain patient until he silences all the doubters/haters...AGAIN!! It's absolutely hilarious hearing people calling Alex Pereira the 🐐 and now even more since the 2nd win over Jiri just went down. Pereira is undoubtedly an elite level striker and awesome to watch, but not even close to 🐐 status. Let's see him continue on for the next 15 yrs+ without a single loss and have those 0 losses over everyone that will be or already are hall of famers.

The so called "oblique kick" is a Savate technique called "chasse frontal bas" or "chasse italien". Bruce Lee incorporated it in Jet Kun Do, and from there probably Jon took it. The technique performed by Jon is perfect from a Savate point of view. The same goes for the side kick to the knee, another Savate kick incorporated by Bruce Lee, called "chasse lateral bas"

No mention of eyepokes? its like his primary form of defense whenever he feels threatend. Big brother guard doesnt work nearly as good without it.

17:11 the kicks had his opponent clearly confused. He was throwing his arms in a circle trying to figure out where the next attack was gonna come from
