I'm confused by this. Apparently a balanced diet provides you with 10-20mg of spermidine per day. Why is a 1mg supplement of any value?

If you dont want wrinkles and cataracts and skin cancer keep your face and neck and as much of your body as possible out of the sun because sun exposure causes wrinkles, cataracts and skin cancer.Sun exposure may also damage your immune system. However you should never rely on sunscreen and sun glasses to block out all of the suns' rays because no sunscreen or sunglasses block out all of the suns' rays.Instead you should wear good hats: Opaque plastic sun visors or leather or vinyl cowboy hats and only wear them outside between noon and two P.M. when the sun is directly above and dont look up into the sun. About taking care of your heart: People shouldn't eat anymore than ten grams of saturated fat and or trans fat per day or they are at an increased risk of having a heart attack.I found that out from famous heart doctor Dr. Dean Ornish

If you allow me, another question.
I found medical literature, that relates cancer cells to Spermidine. It supports growth, and in that way should be beneficial to tumor cells.
Are you familiar with this hypothesis and can you reflect on it? Thanks!

Spermidine possesses a positive charge at the physiological pH that enables its interaction with oppositely charged DNA and RNA (Madeo et al., 2018a). Dietary intake of spermidine reduces the risk of neurodegeneration, metabolic diseases, heart ailments, and cancer. Furthermore, spermidine-induced autophagy slows the rate of cognitive decline due to its ability to clear amyloid-beta plaques in the brain (Madeo et al., 2018b). Spermidine supplementation also enhances mitochondrial metabolism, and translational activity. The anticancer properties of spermidine are of particular interest as it is known to reduce the cancer-related mortality in humans (Pietrocola et al., 2019). The association between tumorigenesis and spermidine is determined by the regulation of polyamine metabolism, surveillance of immune system, apoptosis, and autophagy (Nampoothiri et al., 2023). Higher uptake of polyamines is known to suppress the tumor progression. Spermidine exhibits cell-autonomous effects on cancer cells, in addition to impacting their discourse with the immune effectors that result in expediting the identification of tumor-associated antigens and eventually cancer cell death (Fan et al., 2020). Spermidine-mediated autophagy inhibits activation of apoptosis in cancer cells (Madeo et al., 2019) and is associated with tissue development and cell differentiation (Ni and Liu, 2021).

    Very very informative, thank you!
I have a question.. Two forms are sold: Spermidine, a liquid produced from a natural source (wheat) and Spermidine.3HCl, a white powder, produced by chemical industry (e.g. in China).
It is my assumption that all higher dosed capsules are the 3HCl form.
I don't understand the remark about the difference between the "natural" and the "artificial" molecules, the left hand and the right hand. Spermidine is s fully rotational, simple molecule and there is no chirality, there is no left or right hand orientation, or am I wrong?
I really hope you'll read and reply! 🙏🏻

Hi Alan, that was exactly my question! This is what I wanted to ask:
Two forms are sold: Spermidine, a liquid produced from a natural source (wheat) and Spermidine.3HCl, a white powder, produced by chemical industry (e.g. in China).
It is my assumption that all higher dosed capsules are the 3HCl form.
Do you have any information about the preferred form? Is there a difference, besides a possible contamination in the 3HCl form?
I really hope you'll read and reply! 🙏🏻

Natto ! Eat Natto , it has 8.2 mg of Spermidine per 1 ounce. Dry pig pancreas 9.2 mg. Per ounce, mushrooms 9.2 mg. Per one ounce, tempeh 9.2 mg. Per once. Wheat germ, mangoes, broccoli.
I eat Natto five times a day. I put 1/2 tsp. Of dried shitaki in my Natto, one ounce of tofu, a pinch of dried shogul, few flakes of seaweed, and I make a soup out it. It taste good. Just make sure to cool down the soup before incorporating the Natto at the last stage of making.
It does help you with my aging. My whole body skin and face feels like I took a bath with oil of Olay. I’m 58 years old. My two young daughters can’t believe how youthful is my overall skin. I also make my own wheat germ . I put one tbsp. Of wheat germ in a cup of water and I open one probiotics mix it. I leave it by my nightstand overnight and drink it first thing in the morning.

Is it really too late for this lady to study endocrinology or the thymus? I think not if she really had a passion for it. I’m surprised it’s what she would do if she could live to 150. She could do it now.
