What are you using to control stick and throttle? Will this game work with a basic HOTAS setup if you use Link to the PC that one's HOTAS is connected to? I've tried flying using just the hand controllers in other games, and it's a deal-breaker for what should otherwise be a super-fun experience.
The virtual stick is the way to go because you have an incredible amount of precision (2 foot throw on the stick - like in real life.) But we are looking at supporting HOTAS systems that connect to the Quest. Are you successfully using one now with any other games by any chance?
@@TheGreatMajima The game has a GREAT tutorial system (I may be biased; I work on the game lol). I have never flown a plane before (or quite frankly used VR before this) and I was able to pick up the controls pretty quickly.
@@glennhadcock1810 I bought it like 2 Hours ago and you are right, it has a great Tutorial. 🙂 I just completed the first Plane(unguided Bombs where a bit of a Pain😄) and now got 2 real Missions with the 2nd one. I gotta say, i lovr it do far. Great work. 👍🏻
Hi, can you adjust your cockpit instruments so you dont have to lean forward to do this? Like holding the flight stick etc? Can you adjust seating etc? Great video btw! Thanks 👍👍👍
Yeah, you can adjust your positioning so you can be more forward, backwards, up, and down. There is also a convenient button to reset your positioning. Another cool feature is that these seating preferences stay across all missions + free flight activities!
I also used to get motion sickness, but I read somewhere that if you “practice” regularly for short periods at a time and take off your headset before you start to feel strange, your brain gets used to it. Because if you push it to the point of motion sickness your brain starts to associate VR with that feeling and it’s hard to get out of that loop.
@TooOldForVR I know, I've had the psvr1 back in the day, that was the worst for me. Many games gave me motion sickness on the headset.. so I sold it. When the Q1 came out later, I bought that one, took a gamble, but with luck. I experienced almost no motion sickness anymore, from the get go. But flight games, still though.. haven't played one since I think warplanes 1. Oh yeah and Flight 74, didn't make me extremely motion sick, but did give me a weird feeling after a short time, enough to not go back to it after a couple of sessions
For some reason on my cockpit display when recording does not show down enough like the throttle and flaps. I can see them on my headset, but when I save the video it looses some of the lower area. I checked my settings and can't seem to find out why. Any suggestions?
Yes I have the same issue. I think it has to do with the image stabilization option for the recording. The more stable you set it to be, the more it will crop the video of the recording. The way you can compensate for it is to sit a bit further away from the controls.
We are thinking about it, but we don't have the resources (right now) to increase the detail level to PS4/5 level graphics. (Obviously we can't put $20 million into this like Ace Combat ;-) ) We could do it "as is" graphically, but I think PS players would be expecting more? Let me know what you think.
Yes games on PSVR2 do look better. But I don’t touch my PSVR2 since I got the Quest 3S. My perception is that games run smoother on Quest with Quest Games Optimizer. Maybe because on PSVR2 devs have the “better graphics pressure” and my brain is sensitive to reprojection 🤷♂️. Also if Aces of Thunder is well received on PSVR2 maybe in 1 year people will be craving for another realistic flight experience. There’s also the rumor that the new Ace Combat will have a VR mode.
Thanks for introducing the jet as well as completing fun and challenging missions!
And now I’ve got a new jet and found out that you can take off and land on an aircraft carrier 🤩
Love this game, the multiplayer will be super fun
Yeah it’s amazing. I feel that I will get my ass kicked in multiplayer because I struggle in dogfight battles 😅
Another fantastic video! Absolutely love your commentary. I'll send as many people here as I can ;-)
Thx. I appreciate. I’m having a lot of fun doing it
Gongrats, that was a WAAAAAY smoother landing than in the first video. ^_^
Ahahah thanks. We have to improve our piloting skills. You never know when we might need them 😅
Great!
Thanks for the support

I’m grabbing the virtual controls on the plane and for me it works good. But I’m not using a HOTAS for a long time so I’m used to this.

Nice flying. Thinking about getting this, but i'm really bad at Steering when i got other Things to Control simultaniously. 😅
Ahahah I’m also pretty bad at multitasking. But you get used to it pretty fast. The missions also have a gradual increase in difficulty.
@TooOldForVR Its not the Multitasking, its more like, the more i'm doing off Center, the more the Pane goes in a Direction i don't want it to go. 😄

@glennhadcock1810 many thanks this is very useful to know pre purchase! 👍👍
Looks really good, too bad flying is about the one and only thing I still tend to get motion sick from

@@TooOldForVR Thanks!

Please port to psvr2
The game just came out for early access and the dev team is very small, it’s unlikely.
