I felt the same when I stumbled upon this canyon, but I've only been up and down it in the winter when it's frozen over. With microspikes you can climb and down-climb the entire canyon which is super fun! There used to be bolts/rope but they have been removed by parks in the last few years.
Yeah, it's a treasure. If you look closely in the video there's still some old lumber and stuff in there that hasn't been removed. It would be a whole different experience in the winter! Thanks for tuning in.
Great video! Also - unsure what you were referring to at 14:40 about a buzzing due to electricity in the air. If there were overhead transmission lines it's possible you were hearing a crackle which is known as a corona discharge.
Thanks... I explain more about the electricity in the full episode on Mt. Baldy - it's during an electrical storm at high altitudes when any metal you have (like hiking poles) can begin to buzz! Super scary.
