How to fix a broken septic cleanout pipe the easy way!

  • In this video, I will show you how I made the mistake of cracking my septic cleanout pipe digging up a bush stump. Never fear fixing it is easy and cheap and I will show you how. No need to spend a boat load of $$$ on a plumber, DIY!

    plumber had to instal a 2way vent bc i couldn't find this vent and teh homebuilder could not. Plumber charged $1200 to dig up the old pipe and replace with a 2 way. fast forward several years and my lawn company aerated my lawn...and DESTROYED this pipe. thanks for the video bc i don't think they cover destruction like that.

    Why didn't you video tape what you actually did? I didn't understand your explanation. My husband hit out cleanout pipe with the riding lawn mover. It looks like the piece that holds the cap was a plug that went down inside the vertical pipe. Can that broken piece be removed (pulled out somehow) or do we need to dig around the pipe and cut it below the cap holder?

    This was so helpful. But I do have a question, the lid is threaded, so doesn't the pipe also need to have threads, maybe I missed something.

      The collar is glued to the pipe that comes out of the ground. That collar has threads on the opposite end that the cap Threads into.
