After watching this excellent review of the 5 flight simulator programs I have decided that my old Microsoft FSX Gold with Orbx/FTX scenery is the best of the lot. I am so happy I would not change a thing. I am sure a lot of you will disagree with me but, there you are.
Not that I disagree, but I am in your position as well. But having invested thousands of US dollars, years of tweaking & compiling AI flightplans, painting my own local airline liveries, adjusting AFCAD or AFD files, I think it has made me very difficult to move on from FS platforms or Prepar3D. Nevertheless, if any newbies or would-be flight sim enthusiasts asked me which one, I'll point them to X-Plane 11 in an instant. It is good from the get go, tons of decent freewares, and the community support is growing. The developers are actively taking our feedback as well. So, you are set from now on and to the future. Otherwise, if you are rich, willing to buy expensive payware add-ons, I would say Prepar3D or MS FSX Steam. There are just tons of superb and realistic add-ons for this decade old platforms everywhere. I still think to this moment that, given the amount of your investment, Prepar3D will still come out on top of the current XP 11. But then again, it is an old engine compared to XP11, limitations can already be seen here and there.
Yohannes Sulistyo majority of fsx stuff work with p3d some scenery providers allow free upgrades and all fsx native models and bgls work in p3d and AIG has converted p3d models for the fs9 ones.

Intro was professional standard, well done there :). Just curious about how the settings were for graphics on prepared v4, there's no shadow under the aircraft or other animated vehicles in some of the shots. Is that a setting or does the sim decide on when to shadow? I ask only because the sim looks really good in most aspects (I can see why its been nominated here as number 2) until the shadows aren't there, then it looks less than average. Shadows are an important visual cue and prepared looks sub par in comparison when there not rendered.
I feel like DCS World should be squeezed in here. Title just says "Flight Simulator" so DCS World should have been #2 or maybe #1! And if you want amazing graphics, DCS World 2.1 is it. Apparently this is all commercial/civil aviation sims. :P
TheFlightChannel make sure to get the new Global Update, it upgrades Infinite Flight by a MILE and brings it to compete with XP10 and FSX closely. First off you have completely overhauled 15M HD scenery, don’t even get me started on where you can fly, (no restricted regions!)
The scenery may be realistic but the flight physics certainly are not. XP11 has by far the most realistic flight dynamics and physics of all the simulators, even more so than MSFS 2020.

@@77l96 ik i sound like a fanboy but i mean x plane has actual companies who kind of "trade" or help with them the EVA E-VTOL will be supported by x plane and rigged with instruments to help VTOL aircraft in x plane, then theres BOOM supersonic, who are using X Plane to test and train pilots.
The best flight simulator would have to be the real world. It has real time, weather, 16K graphics, best speeds and it's free for everyone. Just buy a plane

The flight over water does not have boats and is very monotonous and on rivers too, they have to put boats on the water.

Do not forget the fact that you compared flight sims with dozens of addons. X-Plane 10, 11, Aerofly are out of the box. FSX, P3D with addons only.
