Didn't expect The Finals in my Hitman video, but that's why I love this channel so much! I'll be honest, the biggest thing I learned from this video was that the symbols on uniforms in Hokkaido actually appear by the doors--I just don't know how I missed that until now.
8:04 That symbol is "4". In Japan, the number 4 is associated with death, which is why that room is assigned to Amos Dexter the cowboy instead of Tobias Rieper, I guess. Missed opportunity.
7:52 to 8:00 its just 1,2,3 and 4 in Japanese kanji. ichi (1), ni (2), san (3), shi (4). also fun fact the symbols are also the same in Chinese they are just pronounced differently. Well with all that being said welcome back its been awhile.
Kanji is the Japanese word for, basically, "Chinese characters." In China, they are known as hanji. "Han (Chinese) characters." Quite a few Japanese words are derived from Chinese. Also thank you. You've taught me that my Japanese grandmother was actually counting by 2s when sorting things. I didn't realize until today.
I didn't recognise your channel when I clicked and I am so glad I did, this video was really cool to watch as it just confirmed a bunch of hunches I had about the game, e.g I thought I was insane when 47 tripped down the elevator and died in Mumbai and was confused about cameras in the icon. I will definitely be turning on notifications for future videos, keep up the good work
Really funny thing about the Requiem Suit: When Hitman 2016 launched and you only had access to ICA Training and Paris (Remember when that game was episodic?), despite the suit being completely white, most NPCs were still using lines from 47's Signature Suit commenting on how dark it was. So the super special pre-order bonus suit you got? Bugged at launch.
Oh damn, I really did always assume that The Big One is just another distraction item. Had no idea that it's so useful. That's on me for not being creative enough I guess
A little tidbit/fact for those playing Freelancer (and have the objective that disallows firearms) or Escalations that give you restricted loadouts on maps where silenced weapons are extremely hard to come by, you can use thrown non-lethal items (hammer, crowbar, brick, etc.) to target and destroy cameras, much like you would pacifying a npc :)
Yo great video! What I find very underrated or something that most players don't think about is using the simple placement option, placing objects such as coins, weapons etc. For example, in some maps there are briefcases, the difference between a placed coin and a briefcase is that NPC's or targets can spot a briefcase much easier and at a longer distance! Yo, also, you can place items on the ground to block sliding doors from opening and closing like in Hokkaido! Also, Guards that holds a restricted area can be lured by placing a coin in front of them, just make sure after placing the coin that you get a little bit away from their perspective and then you can sneak by, this even works when there are two guards! Also, if you place the EMP charge on the ground the Target or NPC will pick it up and walk around with it, if they walk over a puddle of water you can electrocute them! yo
Doors can be opened by auto handguns, but not by regular ones. I knew that... Source: Early in the game I turned a door into Swiss cheese with a semi-auto 9mm, then spent the next 150 hours believing I can't open them with any handgun, only with SMG or above.
Ooohhh That propane flask thingy really explains why they are strown around every map like wrenches when unsuccesfully trying to lure someone in (kind of. There are probably other reasons as well)
I have SOOOOOOO many hours in this game, much of my time spent on Freelancer these days, at level 1388, and yet I wasn't actively aware of most of these tricks. Some of them really would have been handy all the times I've attempted and failed the Hardcore Freelancer campaign. It's so painful I've yet to fully complete a single one, so I'm gonna take notes from this video and utilize them to finally complete it and never have to do one again.
Love the video, I never knew about the symbols for the disguises in Hokkaido, or that you can do the secondary objective in Ambrose using an EMP. But what was that clip right at the end hahaha
"They" is also a neutral pronoun that can be used when a person's gender is either unknown or simply not male or female. In this case, I used it to obfuscate whether I was referring to Cassidy (Hitman target, male) or Cassidy (Hitman RUclipsr, female).
I think the no time no see can be said with any suit but there are some really funny dialoges in the game. One is that if a woman sees you do something illegal when you are dressed as the masseur in marrakesh and when telling the guards what you look like she will say something like. There was a bald man in sweatpants, and i think he wasn't wearing any underwear. (Edit there are some videos on RUclips that show these funny lines)
The first one with the camera I’ve known for quite a while that it sets you back to silent Assasin after destroying the evidence I thought you’d still get sa if you were just seen on it normally walking around but I’m guessing it’ll just give you clean Assasin rating? Also I didn’t know the propane and the big one accident kill 🤣
For many players, we have realized that 47, putting the syringe on the back?, takes away from the realism, unlike the first deliveries, which placed it on the neck. If you could put a patch to fix that, we would be very grateful.
14:55 i think my favorite npc conservations are the two guards in Colorado at Berg's garage and a lifeguard talking with a lady just north of the restaurant in Haven Island
You can never stop learning new facts about this game! One of my friends who plays Hitman like it's a part-time job admitted to me that he didn't know about the rake trick in Sapienza.
Wait NPCs can't actually see you place down objects? I must've been too slow the last time and the bar simply filled up, this will be useful in Freelancer. Also I'm pretty sure the "getting away with running over NPCs during the Outro Cutscene" was introduced in a patch, at least I feel like I remember reading about that. The biker in Sapienza has a habit of being run over when exiting with the car and if I remember correctly would ruin SA runs so it got changed because it wasn't fair to players since it was basically just RNG. It's extremely rare to kill a NPC during a Cutscene even intentionally so making it not ruin SA just benefits players. While I knew the outfits in Hokkaido had different symbols on the back I never noticed that they were also located above the key card locks, as well as the VIP rooms with matching colors. Only focused on if the door was locked or not. I really need to start experimenting with different tools as I never do anything with the EMP stuff and Coins are basically the only Distraction Tools I use even after 1K hours with this trilogy. lol
another odd fact: as far as i know, there are no disguises in the woa trilogy that allow you to legally carry sniper rifles, except for two (for some reason): the elite, red beret guard disguise in dubai and the biker disguise in berlin. why? im not sure, but this has occasionally come in handy on a few freelancer runs that require sniper/collateral firearm kills
