New Thermostat with Housing Assembly from 1AAuto.com trq.video/ia-1...
This video shows you how to install a new TRQ thermostat and housing in your 2008-2020 Dodge Grand Caravan. The thermostat controls the flow of coolant in your vehicle’s engine. When a thermostat fails, it can lead to overheating, which will damage the engine. One sign of a faulty thermostat is a cool upper radiator hose when the engine is at full operating temperature. It’s important to replace the thermostat immediately if you suspect it is failing.

At first I tried to do the job without taking out the air box but then after trying to get the lower bolt off, I removed the air box which only took one or two minutes and that saved a a lot more time than not removing it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks …Saved me about $ 250 bucks 😊
Thanks!
Move and tie back power steering reservoir. 13mm. Leave air box alone. Take tension off hose clamp, and struggle to remove hose from Thermostat. tie back hose. Remove 2, bolts from thermostat . 10 mm. Swap out thermostat. Reassemble all.. refill with orange antiboil. Get your scanner after the fix to check engine temp and code..
This helped me change out my thermostat no problem. But when bleeding the system, my gauge never went above the halfway point, but my air never got hot. It was hot before.
Just completed this job, thanks for the very helpful video.
Why did you fully drain your entire coolant system first? I did this same replacement on my Jeep a few months ago and just caught the pint or so of coolant that released to a catch pan when I disconnected the thermostat hose. That way I only had to add about a pint of new coolant back to the system (using a burping funnel like you did) and it was quite simple and cheaper to restore the coolant loop devoid of air pockets. Is the thermostat on the Dodge located at an usually low spot in the coolant loop?
Exactly no need to drain the coolant at all also no need to remove air filter box or power steering reservoir...there is way easier way to do this
Cool videos man quick question for you?
I have 2017 dodge grand caravan and i was driving mountain and I was up and down with the hills and suddenly my heat went C i was like opps i guess i need antifreeze but checked in it was good and when i was coming back same thing happened again heat went down to C but at the same time electronic throttle light came on so what’s your thoughts on this ? Thermostat or something else?
I just did my yesterday went good my only issue is now that my temperature some time goes a little over the halfway mark it hasn’t overheated at all but what would be the issue y going over before I didn’t it use to sit under the halfway mark
Man I got to give you credit where it’s due your good
Super informative video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in great detail!

Replaced and started car but temp still above half and started a couple times already to get the air pockets out but still no success anyone know what it could be
What type of coolant do we need for 2020 DGC SXT.
Well you missed one trouble shooting step! What if my heater is getting hot!
Thanks for the great video!
I replaced the part the system was bled, but it won't pass.Emissions is keep showing the same problema drill for a 100 miles. Why not passing inspection
Side comment: 303 Aerospace rubber conditioner is worth its weight in gold, literally if you use it on rubber parts that you want to live a long life such as, the radiator petcock's rubber o-ring, your CV boots when you do brake jobs, your rubber brake lines, and all the hoses under the hood that easily crack feom heat & cooldown cycles. Thise cracks wont appear. Rubber will go from.5 years to 12+. Buy the gallon bevause youll find other uses such as, your dashboard, outside AC plastic.lines, lawn furniture, etc.
you can easily do this without draining it unless you want to drain it. Also that airbox did not drop all the way in.
I replaced mine still leaks any tips
Mine is a 3 bolt pattern? But still a 3.6
Thank you
Why not just take off the thermostat then remove the house? Less of a mess.
My only criticism is that you displayed in-lbs instead of ft-lbs. I did not notice this until it was too late. Who uses in-lbs to begin with? Very very dumb idea. Stick with the norm, ft-lbs. Dont even mention in-lbs. Theres no need and the select few ppl who do need that info can convert themselves from ft-lbs.
Stick with the norm, ft-lbs. Sheesh
+@mungdahl7549 Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team. 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
