In May 2019, The Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) aired a concert called “Murder at the Symphony” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra /DR SymfoniOrkestret, with various soloists conducted by Sarah Hicks.
The concert was hosted by film and arts journalist Maria Månson
Featured composers were Bernard Herrmann, Nino Rota, Angelo Badalamenti, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Hans Zimmer and J.S. Bach
The music performed at the concerts was sound tracks from blood dripping stories, movies and TV-series such as Phycho, Vertigo, The Silence of the Lambs, Twin Peaks and the Godfather.
”Murder at the Symphony” is an original production by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra performed and recorded in DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, Denmark

Probably the most majestic piece of music ever written. I'm 81, and have listened to all genres of music all my life, and so I can say that, for me, it's the most majestic music that I'VE ever heard. 😊

This IS majestic for sure! I think you should look into Thomas Newman’s music; he has scored dozens and dozens of movies and has been nominated for Oscars so many times and never won. I believe you would really like him as well.

This piece is too similar to the at world’s end love theme from pirates of the caribbean, takes me out of it.
Wow, I never understood how complicated music is. When you watch Tom Hanks run around with this music in background you see just one man. But in reality there is him and a hundred more with him in that same scene.

My God, this orchestra just keeps getting better. Watching Sarah Hicks, Tuva and Christine is a joy but lord, they make a person feel very inadequate sometimes! Their talent is off the charts. Bravo, Sarah, superb rendition.

I don’t believe the Dan Brown books, even in my homeland , Scotland we visit the church portrayed in the film….But this orchestra melody is full of emotions and makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up…I feel it’s what they would play as your earthly life comes to an end, and your soul rises to heaven where you will meet our Heavenly Father…..I hope that when my time comes, I die a happy and fulfilled death, where I have made my mark with life I have journeyed, and that people I have known and loved, who have gone before me, will be at heavens gate to welcome my soul, so we can spend eternity in the mansions of the lord…For eternity….my view, my belief, may it come true…Amen

I love this kind of music. Its the same song on repeat and everytime the track ends, there is another element coming in. Repeating and repeating until the song is a full story and everything comes into place

In simplicity is complexity and in complexity there is simplicity. I just love the way each group of instruments is brought in each increasing octave, while still preserving the original baseline beat by the violins and bell. Hans Zimmer, John Williams are two of the most imaginative composers of our times.
