You are awesome, so simple. I had prepared my POWERPOINT 3 weeks ago and now just upgraded to PRO in ZOOM and your video lesson made the transition so easy...thanks and God bless you richly!!!
I’ve used this for storytelling, with the “big book” behind me, while pointing to the words to help younger students learn directionally and one to one correspondence, to name a few.
Sir, thank you for this well explained process. This is an amazing function of ZOOM. I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. I can really incorporate this process in my teaching modules. Big thumbs up!
I'm technologically impaired, so I can't wait to practice this. I was hoping I wouldn't have to learn this, but apparently I do. Thanks for clarifying and SIMPLIFYING this - I feel more confident to give this a try. I will definitely be looking for more of your videos
You are such a clear and patient teacher. Thank you. Unfortunately, in Zoom the PPT slide doesn't work like it does in PPT itself, because I cannot animate (e.g., bring text in one line at a time). I get the entire slide, all at once. That's a deal-breaker for me. Yes, I could have a separate slide for bringing in each individual line of text, but that's a hassle, and besides, I won't be able to do such other handy animations as moving objects within the slide. Oh well, I guess I'll have to stay in the box unless I have really simple presentations. I hope Zoom will add these capabilities in a future version.
Heyy!! Excellent tutorial... loved it But a suggestion: You said that if we don't have the latest version of zoom, we can go to the website. But there's another alternative, we can update zoom from interior of zoom only... But 'twas a great tutorial, will try it!!😀😀😄😄
Hello, Great video! The animation do not seem to work? Is this the case for you too? I am using Mac I don't know if it's a MAC thing or not? Thank you for your work bro.
Hello, i tried using this feature, it is awesome, thanks. but while using it we can't pause it & get back to same slide. tried to pause / stop sharing & wanted to discuss some point myself full screen, when returned to share screeen (ppt as background) it went back to 1st slide & i had to keep pressing the next arrow . Any suggestions to get back to same page if we stop sharing the screen during class ?
It depends on the application. In this case zoom makes it easy and it's part of zooms offering. Other applications would require greenscreens and feeding the video through an other program(obs) to get the same result.
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials Thank you for your quick response. What If I want to record an Excel tutorial in the same way demonstrating live Excel commands? Would appreciate a new video from you on this topic? Appreciate your excellent coaching. May God bless you.
Hello! Thank you so much for the great video! I do have a question, do you know a why is it that I can not use the gallery view when I’m sharing a PowerPoint presentation as a background? I can see a few students at a time, so it’s very inconvenient. Do you know how can I see my 20+ students when using this feature? Thank you!!!
This might solve the problem I have with one of my students- currently we have been flipping between the PowerPoint and presenter only view- he needs large text but also large presenter as he is a sign language user with low sight.
Lovely feature and expertly and simply explained. I've tried it and when the slides appear my image goes blurry - as in like a negative. I'm using a 2020 MacBookAir. Any tips??

Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I have a video embedded into my Powerpoint, is there any way I can play it while using my slides as a virtual background in Zoom? I can't seem to work it out. Thank you!
Hi! How about the animations I have in powerpoint? I think it cannot be played while I used it as background. Or is there something new in zoom that do this?
Not sure if it supported but the best way to find out is check the support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360043484511-System-requirements-for-Virtual-Background page.
Do transitions in keynote work with this feature? Hosting a trivia soon and have my answers on same slides as question with reveal build-ins instead of as separate slides,
I use PowerPoint to teach 4th grade math and annotate (write, highlight, underline, etc.) on the PowerPoint slides using the "Pointer Options" in PowerPoint. When I use PowerPoint as a virtual background on Zoom, I can no longer access "Pointer Options" or the Annotation feature in Zoom. Does anyone know of a way to be able to annotate while using PowerPoint as a virtual background?
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials Sorry to bother you again. I tried the function today with PowerPoint. I could not play the video embedded in the slides. So, does this function only work with the "static" slides?
I will look into that tomorrow as I haven't yet used this with video. I tend to run my session pretty fast pasted and share videos before lessons.(flipping the teaching) I'll have a look for you.
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials I am facing the same issue, while using slides as virtual background on zoom, the video does not play. It remains static. could you help?
Try OBS, the free open-source software platform for combining all kinds of sources, like video(s), audio, anything in a window (like a powerpoint presentation). It's a little bit of a learning curve but there are several tutorials for it on RUclips.
Is there a way for me to still use all the animations I added to the slides with this feature? It seems to remove all the animations when I tried it. Thank you very much for the helpful presentation.
This is great! I'm having an issue during a recording - my image disappears and only audio is recorded. Do you know how I can see the virtual slides and my video image. I'm trying to record myself read a story and for little learners, it helps for them to see my facial expressions.
My suggestion for this is to use the 'record' feature directly in Powerpoint -- it's not that hard to figure out, but online tutorials will help if you need help-- and then export the entire ppt presentation (with recorded audio) as a video. That can then be a standalone video or you can use it in a zoom presentation as well (not using this virtual PPT feature).
In advance I am not getting Beta version enabled, how to get it. In help button message is coming" Your computer does not support virtual background", what to do next, please let me know. I am using HP Pavlion note book.
In order to run a virtual background and presentation as virtual backgrounds you need a fairly recent processor. Sadly these requirements do mean some computers won't have access to thai feature.
Good tool, but you can only advance slides regularly without animation or transition features when you use the powerpoint as background feature. Or am I missing something?
I Love your tutorials, they helped me a lot😍 But my PowerPoint share icon is greyed.. I can apply my virtual backgrounds & the new Beta effects, I've send many emails to zoom Helping Center but there's no answer & no one helped me 😔 what can I do?
I'm so sorry what do you mean by a local copy of PowerPoint? .. I've got 2019 professional Plus PowerPoint version installed on my laptop & it's workin', I can share the presentation itself but the PowerPoint background is greyed 😔
So yes you have a local copy installed. Then it is probably due to incapability of the processor. Hopefully the requirement will ease over time bit for now it looks like you may not be able to use this feature.
Love this but when I tried to do it a window popped up, "Your machine does not support Virtual Background without a green screen." I'm on a MacBook Air; could you help me identify what settings I could change? Many thanks!

I would try to troubleshoot this step by step. Do you have access to regular virtual backgrounds, are you running an up to date version of zoom, is the plug in installed. If so reach out to zoom support as they will be able to point you in the right direction. I've not experienced this yet, but will have a look as well.
