That's super good for a 4550 lb curb weight rated at 21 mpg on the highway. I can remember a time when a truck one thousand pounds lighter with a 150 horse in line six would be happy to get that mileage with half the acceration.
I own a 2020 with the 4.3 V6, runs like a bat out of hell..love it! 69,000 miles and it has "0" issues, I change the oil every 5,000 miles and she runs great! And its a Double cab, real nice interior..
The 4.3 litre GM small block V6 was by far the best offering in trucks then and now rock solid durability and good power numbers for a V6 200 HP and 260 lb ft of torque at 2800 rpm naturally aspirated no non sense turbo charging and the 4L60 transmission was and still is the best in the business... the brand more people depend on today's truck is Chevrolet good video

i own a 2000 single cab short bed S10 with the 4.3L V6 and I love it! barely had any issues with it since I bought it back in 2019. 135,000 miles and only a MAF censor and a broken manifold bolt. and still has enough torque to put the 5.3 to shame

Had this motor in my 2014 Silverado and I loved it. And for everyone who’s asking, NO it’s not the same 4.3 that was based off the sbc, though I had that engine in my 08 Silverado and loved it too.
Never owned one but if I ever get a Silverado/Sierra it’ll definitely have this in it. Definitely a good balance between power and fuel economy, definitely would have been a nice option in the Tahoe though.
Yea that’s pretty fast. 6.2 runs low 5s breaking in with less then 1000 miles. truck can see sub 5 0-60 possibly. Atleast mines low 5s outa the box. So deff a fast truck

trucks arent just for bringing your mom to church and back (even the 8.1 V8s would struggle with that), sometimes people just need more cargo area, but dont want a gas guzzling V8. i.e someone that hauls boxes of clothes or wheels, and not really trailers packed with stuff
sorry to burst your bubble. 2WD trucks have higher payload and can tow more. and they are lighter. and ive taken my 2wd truck through sand and dirt just fine with only locking rear diff.
It’s not designed to compete with that engine. It would compete directly with the Ford 3.3 n/a v6. There’s videos of this engine doing high 6’s 0-60. That’s completely adequate for a full size pickup. But I do agree that the ecoboost’s are beasts.
How is this the 2021 gauge? Swear Chevy is always behind on interiors. Even in the 2004 days their interiors looked like old Toyota pickup ones with blocky dashboards and old model looking steering wheels. And with this gauge it looks like one from 2010-2011 meanwhile digital gauges with highly advanced technology is a thing now. Not even saying they should make their interiors sporty or luxurious but cmon now this is lazy. Even for base model it’s pathetic

Yes pretty much but for sure different. However GM is discontinuing this motor for their 2022 models. In fact no more 4.3 period.
Its the V6 based off of the new LT1 V8
The old 4.3 based off the SBC is discontinued
