Funnily enough, people like the second guy in this thread who say “they’d refuse to support Nintendo” often support other companies that use the exact same practices with little hesitation. It’s as if they don’t actually care and are just following the popular company/game to hate at the time. Look at the EA hate for example. It’s not so much a “this company gets a pass because all companies do the same thing” as “you don’t really have a problem because you don’t have a problem with supporting other companies”.
Though this is a pretty large assumption to make about the people in this thread, this trend is still pretty common.

@@ultimaterecoil1136 The only thing I don't like about Conquest is the story's repeating stupidity. The gameplay was fun. Fuga's Wild Ride was a blast if you play it correctly. The damn stupudity of the decisions the avatar makes in Conquest really grinds my gears. I mean you could have at least told your Hoshidan Siblings AND Nohrian your plan of killing Garon by using Azura's Truth Orb EARLIER in the game thus a lot of lives where saved by coordinating with them. If Hans or Iago is an issue (Avatar could kill Hans and Iago earlier in the game when they arrived at Cheve) them being killed by Hoshidans can be an excuse like the Mokushu general they killed along with Mr. Boots and Saizo. I have yet to play Revelations in Lunatic. I heard it was more awful. Birthright was more beginner friendly but somehow have abundant squishy units, casual mode might not be a bad idea for newcomers. (Even Phoenix if your planning is whack)

The funny thing about the Fire Emblem reveal is that a lot of people in the comments of that video are wanting Mother 3, in which if they did release that, it could be just for a limited time.
Darkness Dpa Anyone who's played Mother 3 knows that Nintendo would probably sooner support rom sharing than try to localize Mother 3. The game is blatantly offensive to trans people (magypsies), and has some controversial political themes (the fascist pig people). It's probably sadly just not worth their time to try and fix these things. I just think it's weird that some people think that an FE1 localization has anything to do with them potentially localizing Mother 3. But I don't blame people for being excited and hoping Mother 3 will eventually be localized. If they could pull it off and fix some of the offensive stuff, that would be cool... But you'd have an hour to pre-order it... And the servers will crash... And they won't give more time to compensate.

Lots of businesses use FOMO as a marketing tactic, video games are just catching up because modern technology makes digital purchases very convenient.
The problem is that Japan is very big on this kind of thing due to the work culture they live through. They don't mind the Gacha crap because it's easy and quick fun for them. For everyone else, it's just annoying.
I guess you could say Nintendo is seriously limiting itself with this release method! Anyway, this is a very true video lol, Don’t even get me started on the limited Mario 35th anniversary pins.

@@sauljulianrodriguez3040 You can actually just make a Japanese Nintendo account, download the Famicom and Super Famicom NSO Apps and then use your main account that actually has NSO to play them with no issue. I use my English account to play Japanese NSO games all the time with no issue

They are literally video game Disney. Disney had all their shit on lockdown in the “Disney Vault” (for those who have older DVD releases of their movies it’s the vault you see tinker bell open during pre movie previews). I was a bit too young at the time to understand the concept of money but my parents recapped it for me. It was literally the whole “Limited time you can get a blue ray/DVD version of the lion king! Hurry before it goes back into our vault!” Shit. Nintendo is doing now too. And like Disney, they know they can get away with it because their fan base and target audience don’t all know how to/ can emulate. Because of that they still make money from it and they’ll keep doing it.
I’m conflicted with all stars personally because I want to play it. I was too young (plus my parents thought I wanted “girl shit” instead of video games) to make video game purchase decisions when these games were out (I was straight up not alive for 64. I’m not talking about the Galaxy games though because I was old enough to ask for that when it was out to get it on the Wii). And I want to try out these games on the switch. Oh and btw I tried emulating but I’m a dumb bitch when it comes to emulators and I can never get shit to work. So I’m like “well shit, because I’m not a hip cool ‘90s kid and I’m a dumb bitch when it comes to emulation this is my one way of getting To play sunshine.” And I don’t want to buy it because I absolutely hate this damn practice but I also question if I should even care because parents are still going to buy their kids this, uninformed gamers who are in a similar situation as me but haven’t started looking at the shitty practices the industry has been doing will still buy it. Nintendo’s net of consumers is so fucking huge with the switch right now I doubt if every single aware consumer and emulator users collectively boycotted is going to dent their sales enough to make them give a shit. The only way I can think of to get them to care is a class action lawsuit that not only hits them but other stupid “limited time” things in the industry that can be solved by them keeping their 20 year old games on their online store front until they close the store front for that console.
I’ll figure out how I want to handle this on my end but that’s my thoughts on it. It ain’t a new practice and for what Nintendo is the like- I’m not surprised tbh.
And some tips for those who want to try out All Stars. I’m not sure if it helps much but if you have a Wii U- as of the day I’m typing this- I’m pretty sure it’s store is still functional. There is a bunch of retro games on there similar how the Wii was. I was able to pick up 64 and DS 64 from there. I’m not sure if Sunshine or Galaxy is on there (I was looking for Zelda games when I checked). It’s worth a shot to check though, to see if you can still play them that way. I’ll check myself in a bit. Yeah it’s not portable but it’s not supporting this shit practice while you get the game still.
Yes the Wii U shop is still active. I checked it last month since the Wii U's Virtual Console is the only one that lets you buy FE Sacred Stones for whatever bizarre reason.
I agree on all points. I still use my Wii U to play all of the Wii and GBA games that I missed. :)
Galaxy is on the Wii U and it's also where I'm currently emulating Sunshine along with a few other game cube games.
