I’ve heard it said many times that comedic acting is actually the most difficult to pull off, so major props to Jeff Daniels for pulling this roll off ( a testament to his talent) and of course to the inimitable Jim Carrey.
Remember when this came out. Me and my best friend went Friday Saturday and Sunday. Until it was out of the theaters, we used to be able to recite every word for word

My cousin James is wicked smart scholastically. On X-mas eve we all went to see a movie at the theater. My cousin Vicki and I wanted to see D&Der. James insisted we see a foreign film because he only watches movies with subtitles. He lost 2 to 1. As the lights dimmed he was still stating, “I can’t believe you are going to make me watch this!” Soon Vicki and I are laughing hysterically and I notice James laughing here and there. Then at one point we were all laughing so hard we were in tears. Then a snot bubble comes out of James’ nose! Now our sides are splitting and we’re trying to not laugh gasping for air! It was like we were little kids again! We don’t say anything walking to the car because our laugh muscles are still reeling. It even hurts to smile. We get in the car and James says, “I can’t believe you guys made me watch that.”

It’s actually “filly,” which is a term for a young female horse, but yeah, it’s a great line because I’ve never heard anyone besides Lloyd Christmas refer to a young girl as a “filly,” and that’s what makes Harry’s response comedic gold, because he took the question literally.

Best movie ever! I will never forget the first time watching it With my whole family, laughing until we cried. I wish I could go back to that moment. Thank you to everyone that was apart of it.
What I've also come to realize is the pacing/ flow of the movie is perfection
It was a joy to show this movie to my 12 year old son. It was like watching it again for the first time through my son's eyes. My son could not stop laughing at the grinding of the toenails scene it was simply the best for him.
There are so many scenes here that are not in the movie. Thanks for sharing!
No way?!
I love this! Just stumbled upon it.
I’m a HUGE Dumb & Dumber fan! Brings me joy watching it when I’m feeling blue.
I use the 'Kick his ass Seabass!" line periodically.
i have it on a tshirt lol
Me too 😂😂😂
@@philpants44 I want one...😁👍
I used it just before my friend kicked some dude’s ass. Haven’t laughed as hard since.
Me too!!
My number one favorite comedy. It never gets old.
This is probably one of my favorite movies of all time! It makes me laugh and howl like a madman. Jeff and Jim do such a phenomenal job of bringing this movie to comic life. I love it I love it I love it.... and so do our grown sons and their families. I could watch it once every year. It is definitely a comedy classic. Funniest stuff I can think of. In this world that is so serious and so evil, it is so good to watch stuff like this. Thank you guys... and all who had a part in it. Great script!
The IOU for the Lamborghini. And Jeff says don't loose that one
This was and still remains a very unique comedy movie which is loved by people across the world.
This movie never, ever, ever gets old and it's originality I feel hasn't been duplicated yet to this day. I've seen this movie more than any other in my history and you watch it and understand why it's so good. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were like chocolate and milk, the cast was perfect.
Still my favorite movie of all-time.
“YOU SOLD MY DEAD BIRD TO A BLIND KID!?” 🤣🤣 will never NOT be funny!
I watched this at least three times every other weekend going to my dad's house as a kid. D&D will always be in my heart.
Hands down one of my favorite movie I know every line they nailed it
Blazing Saddles and Dumb & Dumber are definitely the 2 most funnieest films ever made!
Lloyd asks the little old lady in the wheelchair to watch his two cases of Coors Light and some pinwheels while he goes back inside to make change.
“Hey. I guess they’re right! Senior Citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel can serve a purpose. I’ll be back, don’t you go dyin’ on me” 😂
That kinda happened to me, lol
@@effemesseyeveethefourth2841 you got robbed by a little old lady? 🤣
This movie has brought so much joy to me and so many others. Thank you!
I remember the first time watching this movie, I don't think I ever laughed so much in my life, it got to the point that my stomach started hurting and my tears were coming out of laughing so much... one of the best comedy movies I have ever seen..
I live(d) in a tiny village in the Scottish highlands and back in the 90s and early 2000s the only way to see movies was to rent them on VHS from our little shop. I remember being 17 and watching this when it was released - it made me laugh more than any film I’d seen up til then. I still love it and anything the Farrelly Brothers make is fantastic ❤
What's great about the two is the contrast. What is totally overlooked is the soundtrack which captured the energy of the script.
This movie never gets old! I'm glad it happened and wasnt overlooked!
Thanks for this background story. Arguably the funniest production of all time.
This is the best “Making of…” videos I’ve ever seen. Yes, it’s a great, funny movie. But these behind the scenes interviews give it more substance than most I’ve seen. Hadn’t even had it on my radar to watch again, but it’s near the top of my “must see” list now.
So you’re saying there’s a chance … is just philosophically so positive and encouraging, which is a theme of the movie. It’s dumb but without being condescending or cynical. Genius.
Im so glad this movie came out. As kids we would always joke around at school with parts of this movie. Best ever!
Anytime I'm in a bad mood I watch this movie. Classic lines! It paved the way for dumb and stupid comedies.
Lloyd: "What's the soup du-jour?"
Waitress: "It's the soup of the day."
Lloyd: "That sounds good, I'll have that."
Excuse me... Flo?🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Steve Martin did that bit in The Jerk...
@@electricfil After the "Flo" line, Harry trying to contain his laughter, flapping his hands around and burying his face in his hand is such comedy gold which flies under the radar.
When they were sword fighting with the canes and loyd knocks Harry’s hat off and then whacks him with his cane, I laughed so damn hard
AGHHHH!!!! *TIMEOUT*
ive seen this movie well over 500 times lol. it never gets old. i used to put it in my DVD player and just have it playing when id go to sleep. movie still makes me laugh to this day.
I think why this movie will always be a classic and comedy staple is that it is such a quotable movie. You can take anything from this movie and use it in a social environment and be the funniest person in the room.
"Do you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?............AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!". Damn it that scene always cracks me up.
Top 5 comedy ever IMO. Can watch it over and over.......
My cousin James is wicked smart scholastically.
On X-mas eve we all went to see a movie at the theater.
My cousin Vicki and I wanted to see D&Der. James insisted we see a foreign film because he only watches movies with subtitles. He lost 2 to 1.
As the lights dimmed he was still stating, “I can’t believe you are going to make me watch this!”
Soon Vicki and I are laughing hysterically and I notice James laughing here and there.
Jim Carey making an excited face: "we're really doing it though aren't we, buddy???!!!!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dude that lil face! Man somehow it makes me Focking laugh
*Carrey
This has been my favorite movie since it came out! We used to watch it every day when it came out on home video. Now we try to watch it at least once a year with the family and have a good laugh.
Lloyd: “What’s the matter Harry? Some little philly break your heart?”
Harry: “No, it was a girl.”
Lloyd: “Ah.”
It’s actually “filly,” which is a term for a young female horse, but yeah, it’s a great line because I’ve never heard anyone besides Lloyd Christmas refer to a young girl as a “filly,” and that’s what makes Harry’s response comedic gold, because he took the question literally.
My favorite movie of all time. I could watch it over and over again.
