We bought a house in October last year, and have been working on what's to be the kids' room. It was painted with concrete paint, so the plaster was really rough to touch, and we wanted to get it down to plain sleek plaster walls again, so we've been sanding down the walls and it was a Project. Happy to say that it's almost done, and the only thing left in there is painting the trim in there and decorating the room with furniture! But yes... DIY's sound so simple, but they really really aren't.

Stairs are looking great! The dust is the worst doing any DIY 😩 sanded tonnes of polyfilla last year, ended up being the strongest day shampoo I’ve ever used 😂 Flow at the end! 🥺 Like a little Disney character herself!

I would say 10 out of 10. Remember contractors did not even want to touch it and you've done it all yourself. It will look very nice once its varnished and carpet is down.

They look amazing me and my boyfriend stripped all of the skirting boards and doorways in out 100 plus year old house. Hated it, I was going to do the same to our stairs I think I'll stick to carpets lol

I've had good results with oxalic acid when removing stains in wood. Apply it before your stain to get a nice even colored result :)
