Made this tribute of the f/a-18 hornet with Sony vegas, and from the Tv show Carrier Carrier Nimitz... Song : Rob Dougan - Clubbed to death Please share! New video out on the CF-18!
It's amazing how they design these aircraft with every intention of function over form, yet they still come out extremely attractive. The music really fits btw.
Almost Every time I see these aircraft I cant help but wonder how amazing they would be with canard control surfaces and thrust vectoring. Excellent video great song.
I'm an Airman in the US Navy and i work on F-18 Legacy and Super Hornets. I can truly say I love my job! Working on such incredible aircrafts and seeing them in action is breath taking. I have yet to experience the ship life; I'm currently attached to a shore duty Squadron, but i cant wait to be out to sea in the fleet!
Beautiful how condensation forms around the leading edges when the plane makes a turn at high speed :-) The air gets compressed so much that it can't hold on to its moisture anymore. The aerial refueling scenes are great as well.
I am currently stationed on the USS NIMITZ (CVN-68). We just wrapped up an eight month deployment to the western pacific then up into the Med. There's nothing like living on a carrier. It truly is a floating city. To answer the question of how often high ranking officers fly. They must fly once a month to keep up their qual. Even our CO will fly once a month.
my favorite airplane was the F-16 but when i saw this plane landing in an military air port near my city i just loved the F-18 Super Hornet... like more double seat
I was on the Conni (CV 64) 88' - 90' with VFA 25. Some very good memories! I was flying the A model then, time does slip bye. Thank you for the great video! And to those that have passed on, Slick and Hitch, you are missed! great to have flown with you. You did Naval Aviation proud!
+Rob Russell Hi Rob, congratulations for your service! I've a simple question for you, Sir! What are the single one steps to become a Navy pilot? If you want contact me on: giorgiobruno79@gmail.com (my e-mail). Thanks for your time, and I really hope to receive an answer from you, Sir! Have a wonderful flight in your life!
Exquisite footage and choeography. Amazing athleticism in the sky! My hats off to all our flighter pilots, past, present and future. You are so inspiring!
THIS VIDEO IS TRULY AMAZING. It changed my life. I am now a fighter jet pilot, all thanks this video that inspired me when I was a child. Thanks you @skat0r.
Captain Fravor (Pilot at the beginning) is such a Bad Ass.. He was the coolest guy on this show, and though he was kinda old he could still kick ass.. Like during the pitching deck he was last guy up and nailed the deck on his first try.
When I was in the Navy aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) we had the first generation F-18A and B. They were kinda like the red-headed step child. The F-14 Tomcat was the king of kool and that was that. My how things have changed. The old Tomcats are in the boneyard and the F-18 E/F is now the Big Dog. It would have never happened without the Super Hornet. The original was a good aircraft, but these are great aircraft.
@whitezanna Continuing explanation part 2. That was really when they caught onto the problem and moved forward to solve it. This rarely happens now because testing like that is now usually performed in safer, more controlled environments like wind tunnels. When they made the super hornet the same conditions existed and the angled racks were still used as the solution. And that's the full explanation. Or at least the important parts :)
i have wanted to be an f-18 pilot since i went on a tiger cruise with my dad. It was on the Lincoln and 2 f-18s went over performing a refuel for the air show and then out of no where another one flys over rolls upside down and broke the sound barrier.
when i was stationed out in afghan, whenever these f18s would fly by. they would roar. they were going so loud and fast, i got the worst chills ever. even though they were friendly, i got the chills SOOO bad. they were so crazy.
Watch the PBS show Carrier. You will see all the pilots. You have VFA-41 Black Aces, VMFA- 232 Red Devils, and VFA-94 Mighty Shrikes. If you have Netflix you will find the show
The Legacy bug and the Super bug are great planes. They can turn very tightly that rivals that of the Su-27 and 35,Mig-29 and Eurofighter. The Rhino has excellent avionics. The only thing I feel the Bug lacks is a higher top speed. But even the fastest fighter can't outrun a radar guided air to air missle
@whitezanna Continuing the explanation. If you watch that video very closely around the 28 second mark you can see that the hornet pilot actually jettisoned the entire ejector rack (or pylon), not just the bomb. He experienced first hand the problems of perfectly aligned racks and had to dump the entire thing to solve the problem. Unfortunately because the ejector rack was still attached to the bomb it messed up the aerodynamics of the bomb and it spiraled into the T/A-4.
@honzijk It's called a clearing turn, they turn to the left if shot off the waist cats and to the right if shot off the bow cats. The only time this is not true is in a class 3 weather situation, in other words when visibility is extremely low. Then you do fly straight ahead...however you won't see them cause the visibility is so low...
@CmteFeather Well, I liked the music- I have never heard it before on youtube as well, and I think it suits the video VERY, VERY well! Having no music would be optimum in my opinion (as usual), but this is still very nice!
@shaygahweh Other way around actually, the air pressure drops so rapidly (basic flight laws - Bernoulli's principle, the faster a fluid moves, the lower the pressure exerted) that the moisture in the air reaches its dew point.
@honzijk Pattern of traffic possibility, maybe there doing landings for the day to practice. Most likely Traffic in the pattern or another aircraft launching.
Beatyful. Love it. Is this a DVD exttract? I like it so much. There are some similar DvDs from the Swiss Air Force. also FA-18 no AirCraftCarrier but Mountains.
Actually, its more likely to help with the changing of pressure. Pilots can experience pressure in there ears and one way to deal with it is to chew gum. As far as i know you are aloud to smoke on Carriers in designated areas.
Yes i agree with you, I was just pointing out that the russian Su-22 is a better air to air jet then most US jets, its more maneuverable and faster, but it's not effective for air to ground combat like US, which is what US uses it's jets primarily for, and since there is no war in sight with Russia in the near future, there really is no need to manufacture something on par or superior to Su-22
@rapastrol Tried the army too but too hard, now I'm a civil pilot, good luck with your dream and like it says in the details the footage came from a show called ``carrier`` but I did the editing thx
Wow! I got goosebumps watching this. Fortyseven years back I had offered a design for the fueling wand used by the 'in air' refueling planes to Boeing corporation. I am gratified to note that it is being used. At that time I was searching for oil in the territory of Pakistan that is now controlled by Taliban.
Another major component in the equation is this --> US has 11 super-carriers with an additional 3 under construction; plus, air force bases/naval air stations all over the world to go along with a huge network of allied air power. So, when you compare that to Russia and China's very limited global abilities in comparison, plus the fact that the US has over 200 F-22 air superiority stealth fighters, there really is no cause for concern. Also, Russia does no have an overly large number of Su-22s.
This is a random guess, but i assume that chewing gum is a substitute to smoking, i think smoking isn't aloud on a Carrier so perhaps it's just to keep them busy :) But i might be wrong!
im not saying the SU-33 sucks, but the F/A-18 is lighter, smaller, has a better thrust to weight ratio witch makes it better at a sustained turn, better avionics and weapon systems, and has the best pitch and role control in the world. SU-33 is still a good jet though :)
It's amazing how they design these aircraft with every intention of function over form, yet they still come out extremely attractive.
The music really fits btw.

@skat0r Thank you for uploading a NON-game video of the super hornet (YES!!!!!!!!!) in such good quality, you deserver a golden medal for it!
This is just a brilliant video in HD, The Music is second too none, The best FA18.
Fantastic amd thanks for the service you provide.

The music it is nice, good to be with the images. Sometimes i think that there`s much more talent here than in tv programs. Very nice.

The F/A 18 Hornet is the best and most beautiful plane ever built.
Great Video, I love this Fighterjet and the Song ist perfect for the footage. Perfect harmony
Best video I have ever seen! PLEASE do not delete this or anything!
the best combo of music and video!!! it's bad ass!!!! love it.
Nice, one of the best on the F-18A I have ever seen.
Good mucic too

This is a great clip with a great music combination. Like it very much, very well made!!
Super video! Here's a great video about another F-18 pilot engaged in a personal challenge.
Great vid shipmate! Did my time with the Connie Battle Group (CV-63) Late 80s early 90s. The plane back then was.... THE TOM CAT!!!!
Hornet is THE most beautifulest plane..purrdy, still rugged as hell!!
the landing near end of video is beautiful
Captain Fravor is a bad ass pilot on that show, he has some skills.
real cool.......the music brings the best,
when i was stationed out in afghan, whenever these f18s would fly by. they would roar. they were going so loud and fast, i got the worst chills ever. even though they were friendly, i got the chills SOOO bad. they were so crazy.

Alright sweet dude! I'm really looking forward to seeing it! I been waiting patiently :)
this video deserves infinity views
Great video!!! Loved the music choice as well.

Loved it dude, great footage.
Completely agree with you, RC vids, shouldn't have more views.
Will Recommend to friends.
Best video about F-18.
Outstanding job!

Wonderful images!
Thank you.
Bis
@CmteFeather Well, I liked the music- I have never heard it before on youtube as well, and I think it suits the video VERY, VERY well!
Having no music would be optimum in my opinion (as usual), but this is still very nice!
forgot to mention the F/A-18 can do the cobra and all the things the SU-33 can and it can actually point strait up and go 0 mph and just sit there
best video ever.
FAVOURITE.
simply beautiful! makes me want to get my pilot's license even more! :)
really really REALLY cool video mate
@shaygahweh Other way around actually, the air pressure drops so rapidly (basic flight laws - Bernoulli's principle, the faster a fluid moves, the lower the pressure exerted) that the moisture in the air reaches its dew point.
@A1FORC3 The AF has more drones and transport planes, but the Navy actually has more fighters.
most of this footage is from a pbs special called, Carrier. just search for it on google you can watch the whole thing it's real good.
nice video and song it FITS PERFECTLY what is the song btw?
I'm gonna start working on it this week!
It's awesome. They're the best!!!
@skat0r ya i agree this is only the 2nd video ive ever seen with this song but i love it...all together a very sexy video, 5 thumbs up
@honzijk Pattern of traffic possibility, maybe there doing landings for the day to practice. Most likely Traffic in the pattern or another aircraft launching.
Great job - Really enjoyed the video
ur video was pretty awesome keep up the good work!
@whitezanna its to help with the aerodynamics and to help balance the plane as well
Nice video, I wish a was an pilot in the US navy...
Beatyful. Love it. Is this a DVD exttract? I like it so much. There are some similar DvDs from the Swiss Air Force. also FA-18 no AirCraftCarrier but Mountains.
Just perfect.
Yep. Fighter jets can't carry a lot of fuel so they are frequently re-fueled mid-flight.
@skat0r its not about the song its about the music. some ppl (like me) want to hear the original sound of the engines
Actually, its more likely to help with the changing of pressure. Pilots can experience pressure in there ears and one way to deal with it is to chew gum.
As far as i know you are aloud to smoke on Carriers in designated areas.

Some of the U.S NAVY's finest.
great stuff!
@honzijk I think they get a lift advantage that way due to ground effect.
@rapastrol
Tried the army too but too hard, now I'm a civil pilot, good luck with your dream and like it says in the details the footage came from a show called ``carrier`` but I did the editing
thx
i love how the title is super hornet but the first jet we see is a legacy hornet XD
Wow! I got goosebumps watching this. Fortyseven years back I had offered a design for the fueling wand used by the 'in air' refueling planes to Boeing corporation. This video makes me reconsider very seriuosly the engineer that i'm studing...
@Viper7662 i think it fits, i think its good and it seems like most the people think the same and didnt really see an other video with that song
i love the ending to this, i dont usually see hornets land on runways...
awesome video!!
love it!!
@skat0r there is a wicked roy jones jr video with this song, if you like boxing youll like it if you run into it
Great video, thanks.

@honzijk They do it to get more air under their wings.I gives them a little burst of speed just in case.
Amazing!
I really want to be a fighter jet pilot when I grow up!
@topwing93 yep, like it says in description. really good show
@NSkills1 im not taling about the AMOUNT of jets. im talking about how the AF has more types of jets.
This is a random guess, but i assume that chewing gum is a substitute to smoking, i think smoking isn't aloud on a Carrier so perhaps it's just to keep them busy :) But i might be wrong!
for the "America, Fuck Yeah!" effect :D
this video has some sick ass clipsc

Very good video!
Video is fucking vicious man! Loved every second of it.
SWEET VID BRO GO NAVY!
Yeah ! They are the best !!!!
Relieves stress and anxiety.
cool music
Pilots look so cool wearing their masks and helmets.
