Oh my God, how can I not fall in love with this? I became the new subscriber to the channel. For obvious reasons. One of the most beautiful and "soft" versions for this classic from the best band of all time. Congratulations to those involved.
A very interesting take with the "subdued" vocal in this cover. Not to take anything away from Geddy Lee, but when sung in a more subdued manner, I think one appreciates Peart's ability not only as percussionist ( I am a drummer) but even more so as a song writer. A great song leads to many attempts to cover it in many ways, as if to wring out the hidden full potential of the song. This is an excellent cover as it didn't try to overplay it.
I have spent almost all of my focus over the years on Neil's drumming. What I love most about covers like this is that it allows a focus on his lyrical writing. Fantastic!
I love this video! I am watching it almost weekly when I need to put a smile on my face. Would love to hear more of the story behind putting this together. As musicians move on, pass on, it is only talented artists like this to carry the torch. Job well done.
Freaking awesome and she s one amazing vocalist ! Almost a subdued but crazy crisp melodious harmony . It’s like expressing a black sarcasm upon the injustices spoke of and at the same time reminding us of first world problems
Muy bueno chicos,de donde son....son geniales y muy bien logrado el cover, cada uno en su instrumeto genial,y el color de la voz de Poliapolis le da a la cancion un toque muy especial....muy buenos y saludos para todos
BRASILEIROS !!???? Poliapolis - Vocals Bettina - Violin Gustavo Amaral - Electric guitar Marcos Souza - Drums Alexandre Camara - Keys, music and video production
Amazing cover! The softness in this vocal is perfect, really conveys the slightly sad but resounding purity behind this song's emotion and meaning. The drums are absolutely perfect in feeling the timing of this song, the guitar tone is excellent, the bass and keyboards are easy to hear without being overpowering. What's more to say? Love it.
OMG Nailed it! Others have covered or tried to the drums, bass and guitar but the vocals? Of course the answer is a woman. My metalhead or hairband friends use to give me shit for liking Rush... you either got them or you didn't. The world's biggest cult band. BTEW, beautiful voice (via apple earbuds no less).
Of course the answer is a woman. True. I would never question Geddy's manliness and his bass playing is god-like, but he does sing in a higher range and a female vocalist is a good choice for covering Rush songs.
Between the vocals with their soft, melancholic focus and the interlude synth part doubled with the violin (I think it adds that additional accent of warmth that I've only heard from the Live Presto version when done by Rush), this version of the song definitely stands out well.
I'm a hardcore Rush fan and I have yet to see a cover that impressed me because how can you top Neil and Geddy (and Alex, who is the most underrated guitarist in the world). But this one - WOW. Vocals excellent; violin, nice touch. Dare I say that this cover may actually be better than the original - that's saying a lot.
Loved The Lady Playing The Violin along With Geddys Keyboard Parts.!!!!! So Cool Man !!! Never Seen Anyone Do That Before !!! Very Cool !!! Was She Someones Mom Or Aunt Playing That ? Lol !!!!!!

Great job but I was disappointed at the end. The drum outro is the most important part of that song - you need a bigger kit and to up your drum dynamics - maybe mic each one separately?
why are the drums from garage band, their so obviously triggered drums. everything else is great though! 0:45 he’s hitting the crash in the video but the sound is clearly the hi-hat. and the snare drum fill before the verse is bad, it’s triggered and like meshed together

The female singer reminds me of the one in Fleesh in their excellent cover of The Pass. Similar tone.
Outstanding!
This girl has so good voice 😍❤

Really great cover version !! 🤩
Que voz linda.
Thank you for including the extra "...of youth" at the end like Geddy took to doing in the live versions.
Good catch! :)

At first I didn't like the vocals, until I realized how precise she was, well done!
Yeah, it’s called the autotune precision

You got to put more balls into the “Sub Divisions” back ground vocal part.
Great job but I was disappointed at the end. The drum outro is the most important part of that song - you need a bigger kit and to up your drum dynamics - maybe mic each one separately?
Who was on bass?
Me... :) Used the Fender Bass from Trillian to record.
The talent is great. Don’t care for the vocals. The keyboards sound like Mexican music keyboards.
Mexican music keyboards? 🧐It is the OB-Xa… But did you like it? ☺️
Nice cover. 🙂 But without bass guitar player, that is not that.

😄 Not from Garage Band at all! But we used some SSD in the mix to correct some issues.
About one percent of the Neil Peart's drumkit.
Probably...but did you like it? :)
@@whattherec It is excellent. Very much enjoyed it
And please do not take this as an insult but any relation to Jerry Seinfield?
Not that I know of …
I like this vocalist, but the problem is, she sings this, like I would think it, and that would not be good. She isn't inflecting the mood of the piece. Tell me I am wrong, but...
There’s definitely a difference between sounding good and feeling it. It could be because maybe she was never a misfit, a dreamer, or an outcast.
@@jaylogan4562 You may say she's a dreamer..... But she's not the only one😀. Sorry couldn't resist
Who’s playing bass? Lol
I played on the keyboard :)
