Builders and developers care not one iota about the environment.

Wrong. It's the SJC requirement to raise the terrain elevation and no tree roots may be buried more than 6 inches. Therefore, the trees must be removed. It's SJC Land Development Ordinance.

Absolutely it's gut wrenching seeing the massive deforestation. Right off exit 284 there's a MASSIVE project clearing land it's so heartbreaking

Cut enough trees the air will become stagnant with no shade!!!

I read about Massive corruption in some departments. Investigate anything to do with building, zoning etc.

SJC requires clear cutting as raising the elevation of land is often a requirement and no existing tree roots may be buried more than 6 inches. I have wooded land I would like to preserve my mature specimen trees and only remove trees and raise the terrain where needed. But SJC will not permit this.

Developers have been clear cutting for house farms in northeast Florida for the last 40 years. And these commissioners are just noticing? The county commissioners in northeast Florida counties have been blindly pro-developer for decades. Don't expect them to change now.

This will raise taxes (fees), nothing more! Keeping home prices higher
Edit : Instead, make a rule that so many trees, per acre, must remain.
