Hi Geoff, yeah, we'd need to stay much longer in Charleston to show everything the city has to offer. We had to skip many nice attractions. Sorry about that.
Walking is best for the city center. The geography is flat and there is always a place to take a rest. The concern would be middle of summer when it is hot a humid. Then you may want to take an Uber end of day. To get to the beaches you will need to rent a car. IF you arrive by air then check to see if your hotel has a shuttle or if there are airport shuttles visiting several hotels.
The most beautiful place in america in my opinion😍😍😍😍 ... They only say that there are many hurricanes, I don't know how true that is, do you know anything about that?
Indeed, very beautiful. Yes, there are hurricanes and Tropical storms. One would have to research whether the city actually gets much damage beyond flooding and how often it gets a direct hit. Those would be kinda scary

The war was not about slavery. Lincoln made it about slavery. The war was about states rights. Lincoln knew the north could not survive without the south and the south wanted out of the United States. At the time the north also had slaves.
It amazes me how you can have a city who's whole focus is on its history and the Civil War, yet there is no focus on what the war was about.
