One of my enduring memories of Snowdonia is standing high up a mountain on a clear day watching from above a rescue helicopter fly past in the valley a few hundred of feet below me. Later that same sunny day I was having a short nap on a high ridge when I was woken by a rescue dog who thought he was rescuing a person in distress: the dog's handler insisted I play with it as a reward which was no problem as I love dogs.

Harrison Ford is familiar with the area around North Wales and Shropshire as he had a narrowboat holiday on the Llangollen canal some years ago. When he was filming Star Wars and had to spend a long time in the UK he wanted to fly his plane but, apparently, to fly in the UK you must be a member of an approved organisation so he asked if he could join Slaep flying club.

That was my plan! I tried the RAF aircrew selection course in Biggin Hill. If I had passed that, I didn't! I would have retired from the RAF at age 38, and then fly 747s for BOAC! But then I would have been the same age as most of the pilots lost over the Falklands so maybe it was for the best! I also would not have moved to Canada and my kids would have had different faces!

Loved the way that forests appeared as soon as Snowdonia was approached, and that Mount Snowden itself was pretty barren. Only need to be 4,000 ft. up for that.
I was lucky enough to be aero-towed in a glider up to 5,000 ft. in the country of Somerset, and could see both the English channel to the south, and the Irish sea to the North.
Really shows just how a little altitude alters your perspective.
I wish everyone could gain a larger idea of the world like that.

For anyone who's never flown in a light aircraft, it's like being in a Mini Cooper at 4,000 feet. A lot of pilots are only too happy to take people up for an experience because it helps pay for the fuel and gets hours under their belt as pilots. Give it a go!

What a lovely gesture by Breadstick.
This proved to be a very different vlog and so informative.
I first flew at age 6 in 1954 in a small plane from Blackpool airfield around Blackpool Tower and back. I stood up all the way because I wasn't big enough to see out of the windows.
I have since flown in a Cessna, an Air Atlantique Dakota, a tiny Robinson helicopter and literally hundreds of modern jets of all descriptions.
Don't feel bad about chucking up. It happens quite often although I have never been air sick at all. But I was once sea sick whilst fishing from a small rowing boat out of Bridlington harbour.
To my shame, I almost threw up whilst on a trip on a canal narrow boat. So always take a sick bag with you on a plane. On a boat you can simply lean over the side and feed the fish.

Fantastic, superb, magnificent, absolutely brilliant video. I love seeing the patchwork of land below and your videography was great as always. Sorry Angela was shouting for Hughie 🤮 (Billy Connolly reference).
That was a really nice thing that Emily did. Loved the Q & A, I think I remember the show she was talking about with female airline pilots. I'm sure she will realise her dream.
Thanks again for yet another stunning video.
P.S. Well done to Ethan's brother for clocking up some flight hou.....minutes.

What an amazing day. I haven't done it for quite a few years but flying a small plane over the countryside is a great and new way to see the landscape. I had a flight instructor who loved to point out Roman and ancient features features that could only be seen from the air. I've also flown out of Renton, WA with my old man in a Cessna 152, which was amazing, especially flying up to Mount St. Helens a year or so after the eruption.

Formerly known as RAF Sleap, the airfield dates from WW2 and at the very end we could see A C-47 with D-Day invasion stripes taxying in the background.
    Great content as usual.

I believe it is an Avro Anson (G-VROE) not a C 47, It is too small and the windows are wrong, the undercarriage is not the same and the rudder has a different profile.

That has to be my favourite Video that I’ve watched on your Channel so far especially with Emily mentioning that Coventry was a part of her Aviation training at 8:53 or just after as I grew up in the 70’s & 80’s just down the road in Meriden village (Centre of England) which I may have mentioned previously, Loved the variety of Camera angles & the audio integration between the Pilot & ATC, Was the one Camera on a Gimbal as it puzzled me the fact that it moved around and what was up with Angela’s Headset, Was it just faulty or did a Switch or Knob not get pressed or turned? Huge Respect & Fair Play to Emily & the Sleap Flying Club for doing that for you all and that was awesome! ❤️✈️🇬🇧🇺🇸

Around the Welsh mountains the aircraft of a number of nations carry out low level flying training. There’s a part called the Mach Loop where the operational aircraft (mainly US and UK fighters and and the tactical C130 type ) really go for it through the same type of valley system albeit tighter turns. You should be able to search for it on you tube. Photographers stand on the hills above the a/c flying through.
That was a great vid and a wonderful experience for you, I hope you keep in touch with your new friend and of course “the brother” really values the experience.
    Cheers both

Just the thought of getting into that tiny, old Cessna plane was making me nervous; I think they were brave to do so. To me, it looked like a toy aeroplane that seemed unlikely could take the weight of four adults....am so glad it did 🙃

@@nightowl5395 I didn't like the way the engine cowl rattled as they started up the plane. The school trip I flew on ( 1 hour sightseeing from the isle of Jura to the Mull of Kintyre , then across over Ayrshire and back up to land at Glasgow ) was on an old turbo prop plane - the seating had plush covers that were worn bare to the backing fabric !
