I adore the fact that Tom specifically asks for "soaring, anthemic, hopeful" music, and when Matt switches on the tune, the captions also specifically state it as "soaring anthemic hopeful music." Between this and the "Trying Hot Ones" video, it seems to me that Tom has the best caption team on RUclips - clear and concise, but with a keen sense of humor.
I usually use captions all the time when watching TV/Netflix/Hulu/etc but I stopped with RUclips captions a few years ago because so many people either didn't have them or used auto-generated ones which aren't the best (though a few times I've used them to understand a word I couldn't quite catch) I cannot overstate how much I enjoy captions like Tom's and, if more people had this kind of quality, I'd happily switch back to using captions. Not that that impacts anything, in the grand scheme. I'm not Hard of Hearing, I just enjoy having captions when I need to listen at quieter levels or, and especially, if they're detailed with other sounds included like "[Laughs wickedly]" or things like what you mentioned, with the music and Tom's agony-sounds haha!
And of course, putting "soaring anthemic hopeful music" is perfectly within the type of comedy acceptable from the captionist. Perfect example of making a great joke without actually telling a joke or inserting editorialism into the caption.

14:55 I don't know why but the moment I saw that I just immediately thought of Rengoku Kyojuro and now I can't unsee it.
I would love to see Tom Scott plus the rest of the Tech Dif lads (individually or altogether, down to scheduling I’m sure, and I feel like Chris with Tom would be the most interesting but Gary with Tom would be the funniest)
It would be cool to see what they could do with them being with Tom Scott individually. Apart from Matt Gray, we have only really seen them as a group.
Alternative title: A single new episode of Park Bench in a Car, occasionally jump-scared by a phone
I needed this, the chemistry you too have together is just great. Also I appreciate the name card being added for the birds as well
Good to see you guys together again. Laughed at the phone ringing reactions every time. Thanks for a fun 20 minutes as always. ❤
This is the right level of immaturity and hilarity. I absolutely love it.
This entire video felt like a warm hug. ☺️
"You're gonna watch. Or don't."- Are you kidding? I'd watch a whole series of the two of you driving around places with rude names!
Ok, maybe I wouldn't- there are a lot of towns with rude names, and filming something like that would probably turn tiresome quite fast for everyone involved. What I meant to say is: it's just great to see you both just hanging out and doing something silly:)
god i missed seeing videos with matt a lot, you two have the best dynamic :D
Tom should do a video about the science of why Matt's laugh is so infectious
Matt's giggle loop is my go-to video for feeling better instantly
Awesome to see the two of you together again, just being yourself and having fun. This made my day! SHould rewatch some old parkbench episodes after this 🙂
I would be MORE than happy to see more Matt content on this channel. Forgot how funny you two are together.
Glad you stopped to see the superb owls. Great pair of hooters they had.
It good that you and Matt are doing more videos together 😊😊😊❤❤❤
8:46 I feel like Tom is underestimating the internet in that sentence. I'm certain there are at least dozens of fans who were disappointed.
