Actually, that's a brilliant idea. The annual "Tom" competition. As many Internet Toms as you can find, competing for the title of "Best Tom". (Bonus points if anyone can track down MySpace's Tom.)
TomSka's Rock Paper Scissors trick was so absolutely flawlessly executed. The moment he did that I thought he might've been going for the dupe but he acted it so perfectly. Egad.
I would have gone for a uniformly distributed version of the Tom (Scott)'s battleship strategy instead of scanning top-down, since I feel it is likely for humans to make use of the full board space, so this might converge faster? I think one of the better strategies does something similar, but with a proper probability density heatmap instead. Not sure if it is *optimal* against the average, untrained human's strategy, since it's possible implementing some system to attempt to guess groupings may or may not offer an advantage as well.

After seeing Tom appear on Toms channel for that short bit near the beginning recently, I was very hopeful for a collab between them. Thank you Tom for setting up this hilarious video with Tom.
You both played a perfect game of Connect4!!! The opening was a sideline in the Norwegian(DCDB, better:DCDD DCCD) but after the B move Tom Scott got a +5 advantage and never lost it during the game. On the other hand TomSka found always one of the best moves. So letting Tom Scotts advantage never be more than +5. Apart from TomSka's G4 move which only shortened the game unsignificantly. Therefore a perfect game of Connect4.
For a more challenging jenga experience with your normal set of jenga pieces, stack them on their narrow sides in groups of 5, and if desired, space them out with additional layers of 3 to use all the pieces. In a 72 piece set, that'd be four short 3-piece layers and twelve tall 5 piece layers--or you could just leave two out. It's so much more tense than normal jenga.
It's very interesting how the rules of battleship vary from what I'm used to. In particular (since it's a pen-and-paper game, traditional Russian rules): -In the setup, Tom Scott grouped two ships together. This is forbidden here, regardless if the border is orthogonal or diagonal. -When Tom hit a Tom's ship, the turn changed to the other Tom. In here, the player hitting the ship is allowed to make another turn immediately afterwards. -The exact composition of ships: the regular setup here is 1 4-tiled ship, 2 3-tiled, 3 2-tiled, and 4 1-tiled.
They're also playing it wrong with where they put their pegs on the board. The bottom ocean is supposed to be where you put your opponent's white miss pegs along with their red hit pegs. They put them on the top radar. I have literally no idea how they managed to play the game like that.

I was surprised they didn't do chess clock Jenga as Tom made a video on it ages ago
Jenga for Neurosurgeons you say?
the collab i never knew i needed until now! this was so fun and hilarious, i hope they do even more together
my two favourite toms…. not the crossover we expected but the crossover we needed
If you're wanting more board games, Tom, No Rolls Barred have had Tomska on before and I'm sure they'd love to have you on as a guest.
yes this
It's very interesting how the rules of battleship vary from what I'm used to. In particular (since it's a pen-and-paper game, traditional Russian rules):
-In the setup, Tom Scott grouped two ships together.
Приятно видеть соотечественников под такими видео) Сам удивился тому, что ход постоянно менялся. Что честно, на самом деле.
As a Pole, I was also confused - this is also the rules we play by. So weird.
Four one-tiled sounds like a nightmare
They're also playing it wrong with where they put their pegs on the board. The bottom ocean is supposed to be where you put your opponent's white miss pegs along with their red hit pegs. They put them on the top radar. I have literally no idea how they managed to play the game like that.
What a legendary colab. As soon as I saw the board games and both their faces I knew the video was made for me
The last game was like L vs Light, the strategy, the mindgames, the similar names, the insistence on victory. Incredible competition. Can't wait for next year's Best Tom
I need this to be a yearly series, it’s so goooood.
TomSka and Tom Scott playing against each other is literally perfect content.
This is AMAZING! I want you to challenge all the Toms that you can get your hands on, maybe Tom Hardy? Tom Hanks? Tom Hiddleston? Tom Holland? Tom Cruise? Tom Felton? Tom Brady?
Tom Scott?
Tom Lehrer? Better not wait too long, because the man’s already 96.
i appreciate the color coded subtitles so much, props to whoever did that
Same
19:58 love that he organizes his card by color. I do that, too.
Literally EVERYONE does that.
@@KelpTheGreat Nope
@@KelpTheGreat you'd be surprised
Please Tom and Tom, do this next year as well.
It was super fun to watch.
25:48 the fact that I was like "tomska did scissors in the counting demo(1 2 3 go vs 1 2 go), so he'll expect tom (scott) to do rock, so he'll do paper, so tom needs to do scissors"
And tom actually did rock and tomska paper
The fact, too, that Tomska knew Tom would notice that, assume Tomska was signaling something even unconsciously, and try to capitalize off of it is amazing.
the one single marble was hilarious. also, both of them giggling at C4 was funny as hell too.
I love how Tom was prepared to wait until after he won to introduce a trophy, and then promptly give it to himself. If he had won.
the staff did that, I think he was as surprised as Tom
I couldn't stop laughing as the two of you got more invested as the games went on. What a fantastic crossover!
"train arriving at a station" had me in tears
I picked up on what Tom did in that final game, and I love that Tom got psyched out by it.
