Bodycam Footage Shows Officer Take Down a Active Shooter (Garry's Mod)

** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** On September 4th, 2023, 911 calls came into the Houston Police Department's Dispatching Center reporting a male broke into an office space that was empty due to a holiday weekend. Officer Jackson Hartlidge was dispatched & responded to an active threat in an office building that was closed down for the holiday (Labor Day) weekend.
As Officer Hartlidge arrived, he immediately ran upstairs towards the fire. When he entered the stairwell, the suspect began firing his firearm again, giving away his location to Officer Hartlidge. As Officer Hartlidge got closer to the suspect, he kept informing dispatch of much-needed scene info and status' about himself and the suspect. When Officer Hartlidge reached the second-story cafeteria, he came into contact with the suspect and commanded the suspect to lower his firearm and put his hands up.
Startling the suspect, the suspect pointed the firearm towards Officer Hartlidge resulting in Officer Hartlidge firing at the suspect. The suspect also returned fire. This resulted in a minute shoot-out between Officer Hartlidge and the suspect, later identified as Ryan Zantos (28). Ryan shot another barrage of fire towards Officer Hartlidge and actually grazed Officer Hartlidge in the right upper leg. Officer Hartlidge told dispatch that he was shot, not knowing of the seriousness of his wounds.
When Officer Hartlidge returned fire after getting back to his feet, Officer Hartlidge flanked the suspect. At this point, Officer Hartlidge realized that Zantos was struck by gunfire. Not wanting to hurt him anymore, Officer Hartlidge gave Zantos many commands to drop his weapon and to give up, even negotiating with him to stop.
After a minute of pleading, Zantos passed out due to blood loss from his injuries. Officer Hartlidge notified dispatch for medics and backup. Hartlidge was transported and released from the hospital later the day. Zantos was placed in the ICU and was listed in critical condition.
As per policy Officer Hartlidge was placed on administrative leave pending the investigation of the incident.
